Its not GM fault. They deliver what they promise they point your hashing power to altcoins. GM has nothing to do with the exploding difficulty or declining prices. Look at other cloud mining providers they suck even more with payouts and if they give you a steady payout eventhough the market is weak you can be sure its a ponzi (e.g. PB mining).

I didnt bought Altcoin Mining Power because i knew this would happen. I am highly invested in Bitcoin Mining and so far i am all good the payouts are great. But if someday the payout or the price drops because market price or difficulty is shitty i wont blame Genesis Mining.

I agree that GM didn't promise much - at the time I bought both SHA256 and Scrypt Hashing power (for an amount that is pretty significant for me), and Scrypt was advertised as 'the most profitable'. But that was definetely true at the time! So bitching at GM is certainly not justified imho. Investing is taking a risk and the person who invests is the one responsible for making the judgement on wether or not the investment is wise. As long as the terms don't change and the company is doing it's best for you, the bitching should really be directed at yourself.

If I calculate how much can be made from altcoins, the GM algorithm is doing it's job adequately. If all my hashing power were pointed at LTC e.g., I'd already not be making ANY returns whatsoever.

I do think tho that people are entitled to some disappointment, and also to suggestions on how to aleviate the situation. It's just to bad that the tone of those suggestions is often not in compliance with the obvious truth that only they themselves are responsible for an investment that turned out to be not so great.

it doesnt matter what they promised, the point is they are doing NOTHING. look at ltcgear they up the hashpower to compensate for the increase in diff and guess what people keep pumping money into it. if your just going to sit and do nothing while your customers are full of good ideas to make this work than that pretty much says it all. cash grab plain and simple. they dont care about your roi they dont care about supporting your coin, they care about US funding their trips to conventions where they talk about how great genesis mining is. the whole thing is a joke and there are several ways to fix it, they just refuse to do anything about it. typical altcoin bullshit, we want mass adoption, we hate fiat blah blah blah oh i can steal a few dollars well fuck all that shit i believe in then. makes me want to puke. either double peoples hashpower FOR FREE (yes i said that, ltc gear makes it work) or let us mine on our own pools so we can control our own destiny as far as ROI. and there are plenty of other solutions im sure but most people dont have the balls to speak up, me i dont give a damn. i hate watching people do nothing while everything crumbles down around them. I think if you are going to charge $17 per mhs while the competition is charging like $3.99 you owe it to your customers to at least try and do something to protect their investment.

Regarding the marketplace type thing.

Would be a good idea I think as would let those that want to sell and get some money back do so and let people who are thinking more long term to perhaps build up some Hashpower slightly cheaper than retail. I know for example that when Worldcoin was announced there were a lot of worldcoin community people that wanted to mine Worldcoin but could not as Scrypt was sold out, but there are probably people with GM Scrypt accounts who would love to sell if they could and so there would be demand.

Thanks for mentioning my videos, I do try and help people see a realistic side to two cloud mining companies. I would have loved to have added more when I began, but unfortunately not.
