I wouldn't even be salty about this if they just had a freaking market to trade Mh or Gh on so I can get out.

Damn near every other cloud mining service out there offers this, including AMHash which I am enjoying and actually making decent payouts from at the moment.

I agree it would be nice. I would be willing to sell at a good discount. Any takers?  Tongue

Well I got my payout on my measly 8 Mh today. It is up to .00042367 from yesterdays .00026291. Yipee Happy Days! Can anyone suggest another Scrypt coin to mine that Genesis has that would yield anything better?  Thanks.  Undecided

Have a look on Coinwarz and see what is profitable at a given time.. only problem is..it changes quite often sooooo ..it is quite hard doing this coin trading stuff sometimes..haha..

Or look at one of the coins and think if there is anything amazing and new that might happen to it soon, maybe a new feature they are adding etc, so you mine a few now and just hope that it have a little pump in the future and get out before the dump which is normally what happens,

I'd stay away from those kind of coins. I have a little power allocated to Darkcoin as it usually makes rebounds and its been active for some time. I used to be in the coin day trading game, it was fun back when Mintpal was still around, but now its too slow and there's way too many coins to manage.

Well as BTC has gone down in value again today, probably means the payouts will stay the same after fees..

I am just upset by the stupidity of people. I am not in any way related to GM i give you my word i just use my ref link and have an account mining there.

People are just dump and still try to buy Altcoin cloud mining because gm is again out of stock. How stupid you can be? One look into this thread or one video of ian foxley would be enough to see no roi in the near future. I am just saying genesis mining is no ponzi like pb mining because they are acutally mining not like pb .

You dont blame your broker when the stock is soaring. You blame him when he doesnt buy the stock and the stock is going up. You pay him to buy the stock not make your work. Genesis Mining is payed to mine with your hashing power not to make you roi.

I agree, be responsible for your own investment decision!

Only thing I am looking for is a market place for contracts. I think this is a reasonable request, though it will not magically change everything.

I agree with you on the market thing but what would it change no one is gonna pay you a good price for your hashpower because they know exactly what the payouts are at the moment.

Right. Of course, the market knows the "fair" value of the contract. It would be nice to have it, but it would not magically improve my investment.

Scrypt is not going too well and I did not expect that the scrypt hashrate would increase by such an amount - I am still wondering who invests in this massive amount of scrypt given the performance of Altcoins (and Bitcoin). Anyhow, sha gives me stable returns at the moment.

Well, there´s megatons of junk to mine and more being added

every day. At least some of it must be very lucrative to mine.

So, why does GM have this measly return ?

To be fair:

http://clevermining.com/profits
http://poolpicker.eu/table?algo=scrypt

All multi-pools have terrible payouts at the moment. Add weak BTC prices and maintenance fees to it and you will find that their payouts are correct.

Simple calculation:

Payout cleverming: 0.17 mBTC payout per MH/s
at $340 this means 5.78 cents
deduct 5 cents maintenace fees => 0.78 cents  => 0.02294117 mBTC
I received: 0.053 mBTC

Not that I am happy about the payouts, but they are according to my calculation correct (or: in line with market data). And if I would have invested in GAW or ZeusHash my payouts would be 0.0000 long time ago. At least GM reduced the maintenance fees from 8 cents to 5 cents.

My sha contract is going better, though this is mainly because the difficulty is perfectly stable for more than a month.

Obviously you need to mine the most recent junk most aggressively.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I don't think it is going to make much difference for me right now so I will just keep the BTC and hope it goes up soon.  Cry

I don't understand what people are complaining about here.

I am mining Unobtanium (UNO) at GM.  I am also mining it on my local mining gear with miningpools.co.  The two are pretty much on parallel, with GM slightly exceeding miningpools.co in terms of payout.  But pretty much the same.

So you're complaining about ROI?

Have you considered the possibility that it's mining whatever particular coin you've chosen?

I really don't get it. If you've got CocaCola stock say at E*trade and CocaCola goes down, do you blame E*trade for lack of ROI?

I mean really?

Get over it.  If you don't like GM, please move on, but please don't fault their "lack of ROI" on them.  There are lots of mining farms out there, and lots of coins.

Choose wisely.

PS. I don't understand why these strike-outs appear in my posts.  I certainly didn't put them there, nor were they visible when I went to edit my message.

Ahh, thank you!  I must try to remember this.  Here was the offending line that started that strike-out text:

Quote

except that with the word "coin(s)" as above, it had brackets instead of parentheses around the "s".

Funny.  Gotta remember those tricky brackets!

Thanks again, Pilotseye.

I agree. I've allocated some hash power over to Darkcoin on the off chance it makes a rebound. When I bough into GM I knew there was a fair chance I'd never see my investment returned in full, but mining is a gamblers game anyways.
