UPDATE :

Im working on a permanent solution so that when the pool comes back online we wont have to struggle like this again. I will try my best to get this done fast but it could take until wednesday depending on initial testing.

Again sorry for the downtime.

UPDATE :

Im running a few live tests all shares still being logged as usual when the pool is online so those of you who still want to set us as primary to support the testing I would appreciate it since obviously its hard to test without traffic.

Thanks for your patience, hope to get this resolved for good.

UPDATE :

One extra update, I will be giving all the current miners an extra 2% (112%) for the duration of this week payment cycle just to try and make up for the past few days possible efficiency losses on your current 110% earnings.

Also no new signups will be allowed until I am confident the pool is stable beyond guessing, so those of you who have accounts atm good on you Smiley

I hope that would keep everyone happy while I figure out this beast of a problem.

IMPORTANT UPDATE :

I just got directed to this post by Eleuthria regarding similar issues on btcguild that is experienced on our pool, I am not stating that this is a surefire fix however our most recent issues started to increase dramaticly ever since the most recent or one update before that on cgminer which makes me think it could be a major contributor to the pool acting so strange in the last 7days.

Could everyone using cgminer(which I assume is most of you) try as suggested in that post, please setup poclbm,phoenix2 or diablominer on any of one or all of your gpus just to compare the results between these miners and cgminer on your side.

I'l first roll back to an older cgminer version (on my test-rig), see if that helps....

Rolled back to cgminer 2.1.2.... Will update in a few hours, was running at 3.8 - 4 % stales with cgminer 2.3.2-1

Edit: Were 2 LPs so far, got 1 reject on the first and 3 rejects on the second, the same as on another rig running a newer version of cgminer

Edit2: 3rd LP; after this LP 2 shares were accepted at a backup pool followed by 1 reject at your pool

I got some interesting results however using poclbm.

Last 5 blocks 0% stales even on the LP's, the miner shares/stales/hashrate reflect exactly the same as reported by the pool so there it is consistent.

Last 5 blocks 9% stales reported by phoenix2 however pool reported 0.3% stales and the miner hashrate is consistent with pool hashrate (no idea why miner report so much higher even though the shares do get accepted)

Last 5 blocks 3.5% stales reported by cgminer and same percentage reported by pool.

Conclusion so far poclbm simply rox o_0 even though Im sure there is something not quite right yet with pool the results with poclbm is fantastic and completely opposite from the other 2 miners.

If any of you have poclbm please run it and compare this is seriously rather wacked Wink

Would this just account for the rejects after a LP, or also the disconnections and not being able to provide work fast enough errors in cgminer?

Right now Im not sure what it would account for or even if its directly related to the pool issues, its just one thing to look at it.

The known issues with the pool I am working on, just figured the unknown could be part of the issues btcguild also experience with cgminer.

That said, let me get on with things Smiley

I'm using CGMiner for months now and never saw any problem...
BTW, I never mine at BTCGuild because my CGMiner (since 2.0) never works there... It works with all pools (including here), except with BTCGuild.
If someone figure out how to reproduce the problem, I'll be happy to make tests...

For the last 10 mins or so I am getting communication failures with CGMiner and RPC problems with Poclbm....

Guessing it's Clipse doing more testing

Well it just started dying again so I need to get sleep thus will leave pool down until I wake up.

Very little point leaving it running unattended as it is atm.

Thanks for the heads-up

I posted about these problems in the CGMiner thread, Eleuthria said he would talk to Ckolivas as well, let's see if he can come up with a solution....

Have no time now to do the testings, (I use both cgminer and poclbm on different miners right now), but my poclbms worth ~1Gh/s will have your pool as primary for you to test everything
