UPDATE:

Payments will be send out in a few hours to get them all up to date for the week. After that you can expect some downtime as I do some work needed work on the pool server, worst case it will be only a few minutes though so you shouldnt remain at your backup pool for too long Smiley

Clipse:

What I am wondering is: Why are there always 2

"LongPoll from pool 0 requested work restart"

messages from your pool after a new block was found

On all other pools there is only 1 "LP requested work restart" message

They sometimes do not come close enough, so I might deliver a share in between and that one always duly gets rejected....

Any idea ?

p.s. I hope your friend is doing better !

Pool will be down for a couple of minutes perhaps at most 1-2hrs, making payments now first and then will look at why the pool just opened 120k connections to one miner.

I dont know what you mean double LP, I get double LP occasionally but most of the time its a single LP(unless a ton of fast blocks pop up)

LOL,

the pool has already been down for me for the last 1 1/2 hours now, thought you were already working on it! Wink

Anyway, I always get 2 "LongPoll requests new work from pool 0" messages after a new block is found.... never just 1

So I get:

LongPoll on pool 2  found new block on network
LongPoll requests new work from pool 0
Rejected xxxxx.xxxxx at pool 0
LongPoll requests new work from pool 0

No matter if there's 20 seconds between blocks found or 1  hr, always 2

Don't know if anyone else with a high reject rate cam confirm this ?

From all other pools I only get one. Going to bed now, will post some screen shots for you tomorrow

Yeh I just woke up 1:30am and saw the pool being down thats why I could only look into it now :/

I will deal with the pool after I go through the payments, everyone waited to long now and I dont want to get sidetracked before that is done Smiley

PS. looking at that log, seems you got LP reset from your backup pool pool2 and then for some reason a long delay on LP that was allready send from pool0 (bonuspool) that is why you got 2 LP, the bonuspool LP just seem to have been delayed and only reached you much later, weird.

No worries Clipse, real life takes precedence over this stuff. Hope your friend is doing ok. BTW, I updated cgminer to 2.3.6 and I received my payments. Now go get some damn rest lol.

they are only 2 secs apart this time, if they are further apart there's a chance a share is delivered and that one most of the time is a reject

Received the BTC from last week, thanks !

Ive noticed the double LP, seems to be yet another side effect and need to figure it out.

You are correct, its definitely part of the trouble.

Few things from your results is a bit strange, your DW is muuuuuch higher than my connection results but this isnt such a huge deal, your efficiency though is alot lower than my results, seems I have more than just the rejects to resolve, heh.

DW got a lot higher since CGMiner 2.3.5. according to Ckolivas that is because of the change in LP handling protocol

As for efficiency, I've always experienced efficiency between 40% - 70% so I doubt that it has got anything to do with your pool

I actually had a much higher efficiency on 2.3.5. than I have now on 2.3.6. (it went back to my 'normal' levels in the latest upgrade)

Efficiency is related to the speed of the card (up to a point - if  two cards (or FPGAs) that can complete a nonce before it becomes stale will have the same efficiency, regardless of speed), efficiency on slower cards will be less, the slower the card.

Roll-N-Time may affect this, though, but again, that's really going to apply to faster cards/FPGAs.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

This is what mine does. After a LP pretty much for a minute it drops blocks.

Yup, im looking into why that is happening.

I just dont want to break anything else in the meantime so it wont be a fast process to resolve this.

pool been offline for a couple of minutes now, need to resolve the most frustrating issue.

Some of the bigger miners still open 1000+ and growing connections, for some reason their miners dont seem to close the old connections but just keep reopening new ones leaving old ones in established state.

Could you PM or list them if you haven't already? I'm not a big miner, but I'd like to know if I'm one of the parties so I can try to fix it.

Thanks

Yep its specific to 4 ips, will list them after im done with a possible fix im testing right now.

EDIT: well, seems cgminer 2.3.6 actually made connections alot worse and not less drain as suggested, every single cgminer miner release seems to hammer the pool more than the previous, sigh.

Ok well I have no choice but to block these IP's for the time being until we can resolve the issue, it went completely out of hand since 2.3.6 release which makes me things these users just upgraded to cgminer 2.3.6. If the IP belongs to you , please pm me and let me know what miner you are using, setup specifics so we can work this out.

The following is unknown IPs of connected miners, I will contact the other users directly who I know of allready.

--- IP's removed ---

I need rest, couldnt resolve this issue completely yet and keeping pool up will just result in it getting flooded within a few hours.

Will look into this again when I wake up :/
