Ok well I have no choice but to block these IP's for the time being until we can resolve the issue, it went completely out of hand since 2.3.6 release which makes me things these users just upgraded to cgminer 2.3.6. If the IP belongs to you , please pm me and let me know what miner you are using, setup specifics so we can work this out.

The following is unknown IPs of connected miners, I will contact the other users directly who I know of allready.

68.54.174.227
68.113.40.75
2.83.10.158
78.48.131.156

I'm the 40.75 ip. I had 3 systems upgraded to the newer version. I switch them back to 2.1.0

UPDATE ON BLOCKED IP's:

The following list of IP's have been blocked, please PM me if it belongs to you so we can try and resolve the issues associated with your connection. Unfortunately these connections continously reopen new connections without ever closing them thus kill the pool over a short period. I could limit the open connections for these IP's however that would simply waste BTC for the miners connecting from them as it would directly limit their overall hashrate.

That said, its better to try resolve it without resorting to actual connection limiting.

The pool is back up and running, the list below is the IP's of unknown miners, I have contacted the known miners via PM who is causing similar issues.

--- IPs removed ---

The users of these IP's please PM with your miner details, getwork queue size.

Why don't you just make the pool autoreset every few hours rather than unplugging it for half a day?

I'm 99% certain i was the 2.83.10.158 IP, can't see it now, since it has refreshed.
I still use cgminer 2.0.5.
I'm also open to work with you to resolve the issues, i would prefer trough Email.

Cause the connection spamming is killing the pool after a few seconds. Also, If I reset the pool as you suggest everyone will get huge stales due to lost work every time I reset the pool, you would not earn anywhere close to 100% that way.

Its not practical to run something that is completely broken.

Out of curiosity, have you tried ecoinpool? It needs a few updates and the guy that wrote it hasn't been around lately, but the software it is written in (erlang) is designed for high scalability server clusters and high performance. Graet at Ozcoin is using it, bu I'm not actually sure of any other large installations.

Im considering just switching yes but I didnt spend months just to abandon what I have right now, I would first like to atleast spend some more time to resolve this issue and can only ask users to remain patient in the meantime.

UPDATE:

Pool is partly running again but for now only allowing connections that isnt causing problems. As soon as I get everything resolved rest of IP's/miners will also be able to reconnect.

Let me know if there's anything I can test or otherwise......

I have most older version of CGMiner, so I can revert miners back to test, although I would prefer to use a version with API-support enabled

Have you talked to CKolivas about this CGMiner issue ? He might be able to help figure out what it is that's making the connections go ballistic

Good Luck !

I doubt im only setup that is experiencing the cgminer issues, some of the users who mine with bonuspool emailed me and told me that cgminer 2.3.6 is taking out their routers (not even cheap routers) so perhaps bonuspool is just less mature than some of the mainstream/private pool software and just got hammered hardest.

That said, im not 100% convinced its just a case of cgminer-blues affecting the pool thats why Im slowly removing some of the "offending" ips, most users are able to connect now.

Ive banned(is banning) all the IP's that is killing the pool until it runs stable, then I will slowly unban each of those IP's until it breaks again. Then I need to look at what occurs at the breaking point.

If you are connected atm your not causing issues, this is 90% pool issue and probably 10% related to cgminer updates so I need to figure this out but in meantime pool is available unless your IP got flagged with connection leaks.

Heya, Im sorry but its just temporary, I am trying to get to bottom of this and dedicating alot of time atm to resolve it.

All I can figure atm looking at the users whos connections is leaking on the pool it seems to all relate to having alot of miners connecting over a single ip to the pool, its a strange problem but atleast its something to work from for me to fix it.

I have 6 rigs connect to BonusPool using the same IP... Maybe, you can try to make one worker account for each of my rigs to see if things behave differently...

Heya, its not worker related but seems to be gpu(active connections) coming in from one IP and that is what I am working on atm, ive allready let most connections back on with only 4 IPs still flagged and hopefully released tonight still, wont know until I work through it.
