Your right, can check the location settings for each player but some just put earth or the internet  Tongue
Going to switch the tourney to 12PM EST to roll it back 5 hours how does that sound?
Yes, i thin thats about right time if youŗ targeting US and EU. So 3PM NY, 12 noon @ Seatle, 11PM Moscow and the whole of EU west to Spain 8PM.
There you can see it more easily http://24timezones.com
Cool site/map
Hoping we can fill all the seats!
We need a minimum of 18 players to start so if you know any friends who like poker get them to join!

As for CasinoCoin I think it's about time to start talking about what exactly we would like to see with the next update.
Im thinking

-Lower Total # of coins and halving time
-Change GUI in QT
-Add Chat into Client
-Develop an API system for merchants
-CSC - USD estimator in wallet

Those are all top grade ideas.  Lowering the max cap coins will add instant value.

It did wonders for DarkCoin.  Great job!

Agreed mostly. Not sure about chat option in wallet - wont that lag the client? And, what sort of block halving time & cap did you have in mind?

Don't spend too much time on the GUI or chat...those aren't needed or important at this point. Definitely don't do what worldcoin did to their GUi...it's horrid.

I feel the most important item for any coin is a merchant service such as coinbase....hard to do.

Concentrate on nailing the coin distribution....making sure it's done correctly as a wrong move can make or break a coin. The fact that it is changing at all is kind of a negative so the benefits better outweigh the loss of credibility that is being created IMO. One excuse to changing the distribution is that the original specs were not done correctly...I can't comment on that since I don't know enough to say if they were or weren't.

Perfect all the nodes synced in my wallet (28) are all running v 1.2.0
Very surprised even some of you haven't signed up for your chance to win a share of 25,000 CasinoCoin this sunday!
I think not the best time for 25k. I'ts 1 AM monday in EU. So end will be ~3-4 AM monday morning. And after 2-3h job Sad
Next time maybe try to schedule to saturday to sunday night @ EU.
Very hard to work around the clock and make it work for everyone as it is set to start at 5pm my time(est)
What would be a reasonable time for eu/eastern countries? We could switch it but the 5 players signed up will have to re sign up or I can manually enter them!
Need a minimum of 27 players to start (make it worth my while to give away that much) so I'll do everything I can to make it work for every player!

What if we just add a simple twitter feed display to the client that can be used to display news or casinocoin gambling related information to the wallet in windows or Mac. It would make it easier to tell users about updates etc. Maybe it would also be nice to be able to pop a windowed alert when the client sees that a new version of the executable has become available on the website. These seem like simple ways to improve the usability of the wallet.

I'm not sure about the API system part since the client already has a JSON-RPC API. If anything. Maybe we should create API documentation specifically for casinocoin and put it on the info site under a payment integration tab.

Also, one thing worth discussing is whether we stay with scrypt or switch to another key stretching algo. Personally, I think that scrypt asics are a good thing. The scrypt asics concentrated mining and ultimately helped increase the value and longer term stability of the bitcoin network for instance. However, there are people out there that would rather continue promoting GPU miners. Any ideas?

That should already be built in to the client. Should verify that the part of the code that handles this has been changed from LTC so it does not display a message when LTC does a notify. I think it has since I don't remember CSC being one of the wallets that displayed a message when the last important LTC update was alerted through the client. A lot of coins at the time did...it was funny to see which devs dropped the ball there.

Would prefer CSC stay scrypt as I (personally) don't see a good reason to switch. We should be looking for more hashrate not less and scrypt is the best bet for that.

worldcoin's gui looks nice - and the option of multiple gui patches then would be downloadable as simple as patching it to change just the look- a chat in the program it self like irc or something would be a nice feet. because i can never find any one else with coin wanting to play and slots is not up yet Sad and not all the games on city site are up - i like casinocoin 4 the (love of poker) (BASIC and ADVANCE CLIENT) simply download lightweight or heavy.......

The overall consensus seems to be;

-GUI Could be changed in the future, but it is not a top priority at the moment.

-We need more documentation on why/how things are done(goldseal mentioned)

-Some sort of alert letting nodes know that they need to update or a future update is coming.

-When changing the stats of the coin we should be careful,
--Reduce total number of coins,
--I'm thinking reduce block halving time as every CSC would not be available until ~100 years from now(more input please)
--Scrypt or XXXXX

-More Casino Games, this is CasinoCoin and we need games to be played. (I really wish still had funds to develop more for casinocoincity, but we are still on halt until the future.)

-Payment Merchant system, allows sites, games, merchants to accept casinocoin flawlessly.

edit/update:
CccityPoker has an app coming to the IOS store, it's a simple web client(WebView) that you can use to go straight to the tables!
One of my first apps from xcode5 so nothing too fancy, yet.

I think we should try to schedule an IRC meeting/event to go over and refine options for the coin, as well as see who is interested in helping to peruse what we come up with.

The BIG advantage Casinocoin has over others is its well established and has a great name. Of course its a great substitute for fiat gambling online as well.

All we need now is a few ASICS thrown at it to secure the network and some big conglomerate to buy out the name/rights & we can all retire  Grin

Man, I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I think we're gonna see coins with good names being bought out like stocks.  Especially if they own the domains as well.

Casinocoin,

Do you have a casinocoin twitter feed or maybe could add a blog to casinocoin.org? Maybe we can start soliciting casinocoin specific articles and start posting them. I'm thinking maybe articles describing the new features in casinocoin, or posting when a site adds it, etc. That kind of stuff.

There is a command line switch you can use to rescan the wallet...or something like that. Forget off the top of my head but try a search. Something like -resync (not sure). It happen to me once on another coin.

Edit -  found it for you from one of my previous posts:
Quote
If your on Windows create a shortcut of casinocoin-qt.exe then open up the Properties window of the newly created shortcut. Append a space and -salvagewallet after casinocoin-qt.exe. Click OK on the shortcut property window then double click the shortcut to launch.

Delete the shortcut afterword's as you only need to do it once.

Alternatively you can launch from the command line using: casinocoin-qt.exe -salvagewallet

Edit 2:
Please backup your wallet.dat before doing this!

Did you guys notice someone is buying 11 Bitcoin's worth of Casino AT THE HIGHEST BID?

3.4 million coins. On top of what he's already bought.

Is this the dev?

Who would want so much CasinoCoin?

Maybe it is a takeover by a major casino or an online gambling site.  It would make a lot of sense.

Someone is trying to take a major position/stake in Casinocoin. I don't blame them as it is severely undervalued. Even the slightest news should prop it back up 10 fold from where it's at now.

Maybe we should develop a slot machine that takes Casinocoin?
