For the devs here, i just read today that the DarkCoin Devs cut the max hardcap for DarkCoins from over 80 million down to 22 million.

That adds massive value to existing shareholders.  DarkCoin has since exploded in value, albeit, for additional reasons as well.

I hope the devs here consider cutting the max 336 million hard cap to something under 100 million.  That would add a lot of value to all current shareholders and create more [instant] demand for CasinoCoin as people realize the coin will become much more rare than originally planned.

If Bitcoin's 21 million coins can supply most of the planet then  ~100 million total CasinoCoins would be enough for the entire gaming industry, and then some.

With nearly 500 coins now, and many more coming daily, CasinoCoin has to do something to add value and create future demand for its coins.

OldMiner and any other coders here and major shareholders, please give your input.  This strategy seems to be a win-win for everyone and is actually starting to be employed by quite a few top rated coins which had excessive hard-caps.

Regards!

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I agree with you on this one vlad. I'm no coder but from a mining/trading point of view of course it makes perfect sense. The other issue this coin has apart from the large cap is the 3 year wait until block reward halving. Perhaps this could be reduced too? And then there's PoS lol...though if all these things were looked at casinocoin would have to be one of the most attractive coins out there, particularly now that its combined with digishield.

If there's ever plans to add PoS, I hope it's very little.  Max 5% per year.  High inflation eventually leads to hoarding which reduces the use of a coin and also the inflation destroys the real value of a coin.

So I would be careful with PoS and if needed I would personally not add more than 3% per year (interest) inflation.

I made small script to calculate how coin supply changes: http://johnnym.cloudns.org/coincalc.php
Just enter coins per bloc, block time, and block count to halve.
Default is CSC now.

I agree with the things darkcoin has been doing to boost their value.
We should all talk about some features everyone wants to see in the upcoming releases in the IRC or at our forums so we can document the good ideas etc
Changing the total value of the coin is deff an option we can consider implementing

Thanks so much johnny adding to the homepage!
And pool owners thanks for the support

Busy weekend gonna grind out some poker now

As well Cccitypoker.com is having a 25000CasinoCoin FreeRoll Tournament next sunday its NL holdem with 0 entry fee!
Since the pot is large we need a minimum of 27 players to start, and don't forget to use your refer link in your profile section.
Let's see if we can make this happen!

Reducing coin supply would be fine. I think we should cut it to more like 50 million. This give should give us more two years to decide if it really needs to be larger anyway and maybe it help fix one of the major issues impeding this coin. Personally, I'd like them to be worth $25 USD each like a real casino chip. Frankly, I don't see any reason why this can't be the case. As a community, we should pull together and think about what initiatives we can foster to eventually yield an approximate 0.0416 BTC value. Obviously, creating better scarcity buy reducing total supply and fostering adoption are the first two that come to mind for me.

Is everyone's wallets syncing well now?

My wallets are syncing without any problems on windows and linux. All nodes connected to Bitraise.me are on the new version. Looking good!

Had one wallet not syncing properly after the upgrade. I backed up the wallet.dat and conf file. deleted the .casinocoin directory and replaced the addnode lines with the new set:

addnode=204.11.237.246:47950
addnode=188.165.218.116:47950
addnode=195.241.255.78:47950
addnode=162.242.217.120:47950
addnode=188.226.155.141:47950
addnode=216.177.81.87:47950
addnode=68.110.80.22:47950
addnode=84.127.38.52:47950
addnode=220.189.247.202:47950
addnode=222.94.107.90:47950
addnode=182.173.123.181:47950
addnode=74.208.97.13:47950
addnode=63.170.87.173:47950
addnode=195.241.255.78:47950
addnode=50.116.32.4:47950

After that it came up fine and started syncing immediately. If you have the old add nodes in place, it'll have problems syncing.

Very hard to work around the clock and make it work for everyone as it is set to start at 5pm my time(est)
What would be a reasonable time for eu/eastern countries? We could switch it but the 5 players signed up will have to re sign up or I can manually enter them!
Need a minimum of 27 players to start (make it worth my while to give away that much) so I'll do everything I can to make it work for every player!

Yee, its hard. I think you sold look at location of registred players @cccitypoker and adjust the times for them. Maybe you got 100 registred from China and only 1 from EU, so then there is no point to adjust to EU timezone.

Cool site/map
Hoping we can fill all the seats!
We need a minimum of 18 players to start so if you know any friends who like poker get them to join!

As for CasinoCoin I think it's about time to start talking about what exactly we would like to see with the next update.
Im thinking

-Lower Total # of coins and halving time
-Change GUI in QT
-Add Chat into Client
-Develop an API system for merchants
-CSC - USD estimator in wallet
