They were on the wrong fork.  As soon as they joined the right one the old coins were orphaned.

That could only be from the premine.  Nobody could have mined that much.  I have been on the correct fork from the beginning with 34 MH/s and have only 214 coins so far.  Unless there is some explanation then this coin is finished.
