Back in the game....
Hey piggies. I just recently opened up my newpiggycoin wallet and I can't seem to sync it. I'm caught up to 81 days ago at block 1219561. Did something happen at that point?Wallet is showing 8 active connections. My balance is 0, all my coins are listed in the Stake line, 0 unconfirmed.
I have tried a complete new install and a download of the blocks from scratch but again I'm stuck at the above numbers.... Check & Repair Wallet Report OK
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for the help! Ok wallet is now in sync but all my coins are stuck in stake. They immediately staked when I opened the synced wallet (in 32 consecutive mined transactions) but then they won't confirm (showing 32 confirmations for the oldest tranaction and 1 confirmation for youngest). Check & Repair Wallet are reporting OK. A) What should I do next to gain access to the coins? B) Can I / Should I get rid of all the orphan transactions in my wallet? How? Almost back in the game...

I fired up my Piggycoin wallet briefly the other day and got no connections. I thought it was a fluke so I shut it down and didn't think much of it. Now I'm trying again and getting the same result. Can anyone help me out? I'm running v. 1.2.3.0 and haven't noticed any issues prior to this.

Cryptoid lists a lot of peers. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/piggy/#!network Firewall issue? Never hurts to addnode a few connections if a wallet is slow to start. add To add nodes in any wallet, go to the menu at the top of the wallet and open the debug window or console. Type 'help' and you will see a list of commands. To add a node type addnode 123.123.123.123 add but replace the 123s with the ip of the node. Also look at your debug log and see if it says "tried xyz node, last seen 3000 hours" etc in which case no fresh nodes are the problem, but debug log can give other info too.

I don't think I've done that before and don't see an option in the wallet itself. Is there a config file or something? The odd thing is I have an identical copy of the wallet on another computer and it is connecting just fine. So I think something must have gotten corrupted on the one.

Compare the debug log for computers that connect properly and those that don't. On the top menu of your wallet open up the console and click on "open debug log".

then click on the top menu of the wallet and when you are at the console paste in
addnode 1.34.180.245 add
then hit enter,
then
addnode 109.48.255.161 add
Usually when you have pasted in 2 or 3 it starts catching then suddenly more will add on automatically.
Thanks for the help... this didn't work either. (And addnode wasn't listed in the Help list of commands in the console. Nor anything similar when I skimmed the list.) I tried manually adding to the .conf file with no success either. My next step is to try moving the computer to a different network and see if that does the trick.

Sorry about that. I went to an old piggycoin wallet to see if it had that addnode command and it didn't either so I guess piggycoin has never had addnode as an option. Still, look in the debug log and see if it is trying any of the nodes you add to the .conf file. If those nodes are not listed in the 'last seen 2000 hours ago' list then maybe delete the peers file? That's what I would try. Most wallets have the addnode option and I should have checked that piggycoin did before I suggested it. I'm not sure why some don't.

Does piggycoin have a slack going anywhere? I recently learnt about piggycoin and couldn't believe how small the marketcap is for it. I can't help with the development but I'd be happy to help with marketing/infographics etc

Good idea! With all the new users coming into Crypto this would be a good time to make such an effort to reach out to them. There does seem to be rising interest lately on NovaExchange and Cryptopia, judging from the increased buying going on there.

Ugh, I'll never get the hang of slack.
I literally can't figure out how to log in or join the piggycoin slack. This is stupid of them. I have literally hundreds of accounts with different websites and none of them manage to make it so difficult to navigate.

LoL, On that note it is probably easiest just to join the matrix/riot channel which will put you into the #slack, IRC and gitter channels all simultaneously. https://riot.im/develop/#/room/#piggy:matrix.org#Oink

Just don't let Piggy die! It's not even Christmas yet! #Oink.
Piggy has been around three years and I'm sure will be fine. :-) Nah it won't die. Its been around for so long! It once died a bit but the Dev started promoting it with its trading pairs on the exchange in various posts the Dev left around the forum. Then it entered into the poswallet website . It's done very well ever since. Although slow moving it is very strong for a longterm investment.
