I feel my point of view is important for everyone to keep in mind about Crypti.

Crypti truly has potential for a very big future. Why? DPOS has started.
This gives us 10 second blocks and no need for users to host the entire blockchain.
Hence, lightweight mobile friendly clients are coming and that alone is a must have
for mainstream adoption.

Now, this alone is not too special. Its all of this, being in node.js plus, custom blockchains
which is supposedly mostly done that makes Crypti special.

Even when custom blockchains is released things won't instantly happen. It will take time for
people to discover what to do with it. After the internet was "invented" how many years did
it take for people to discover they can't live without social media. Yet it eventually happened.
Which brings me to my next point.

For those who are disappointed in the small number of non foundation delegates registering
I say what did you expect? Right now the only people I would trust as delegates are pretty
much the ones who are now. For decentralization's sake the current delegates would like
to eventually step down but only with reliable worthy replacements. Crypti's community is
so tiny its not possible now. Right now I trust the current delegates more than random community
members. When Crypti is a real currency with lots of action going on this will happen naturally.
Imagine voting in a bunch of starik69s? I shudder.

Litoshi's example is exactly why I have not decided to register a delegate.
He is clearly someone who has Crypti's best interest in mind and can be trusted in that regard.
But his actual performance as a delegate is less than ideal.
I don't run Crypti on a cloud server and do not have a pc running 24 hours. So I would not make
a reliable delegate. I would want all the Crypti delegates to be technical people who know
how to keep uptime high and have no malicious intent.
Right now the current delegates are the best choice this early in Crypti's life.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I'm not sure where to post this so I will just leave it here. After a few troubleshoot tips given by Passion_LTC (Very Helpful ^^), my installation of the Crypti 0.2.0 in Windows 8.1 x64 is still hanging. The steps we took to try and fix the problem were:

1) Deleted the blockchain.db from Crypti Folder
2) Uninstall any trace of 0.1.9g, and installed a fresh 0.2.0
3) "Run as administrator" on the shortcut
4) Tried to run it compatible to Windows 7
5) Waited around 15-30mins for loading

Here is a pastebin of my log file: http://pastebin.com/84BWBb1c

And here is a screenshot of the program hanging:

If there are any more recommendations from the Crypti community I will gladly try them out. Thanks in advanced.

You may have gotten started on your own fork, it has happened to me as well.

The solution is to delete the blockchain.db file in the directory, and restart the node.

I had no problems running 0.2.0 on Windows 8.1 from the start.
I uninstalled 0.1.9 and manually deleted the crypti folder in C:
and in appdata/local before installing 0.2.0.

This worked! Thank you Malibusparky. I had initially deleted the Crypti folder from C: while ignoring the appdata/local folder. Deleting both folders and installing a fresh copy of 0.2.0 fixed it for me.

My "unofficial" audit of the 0.2.0 genesis block continues.

The launch Delegates seem to be divided into two categories.  Thirty of them appear to have received their initial funds from the genesis block; 71 did not.

Example of a launch Delegate (MatthewDC_D8) who DID receive funding from genesis block 5776140615420062008C :

http://cryptichain.me/address/14247409726405533857C

http://cryptichain.me/address/9859538319768690939C

How can these 71 of the 0.2.0 launch Delegates have balances of 89-546 XCR yet be listed as not receiving anything from the Genesis block?  I'm not saying there's a problem, I'm just curious.

Hey guys

Is there a minimum transaction amount needed register to become a Delegate or enforce a second password on your account?

I've tried to create a new account for forging only (for security reasons I didn't use my own current account), and sent 10 000 XCR to it, and attempted to register to become a Delegate, but I got an error saying : "Invalid transaction amount." I've created around 10 more transactions (just sending 10-25 XCR back and forth between accounts), but still the same error occurs.

What is the minimum transaction amount needed to become a Delegate (if any)?

Mal,

Delegates do not carry balances; nodes do.  A delegate is just the forging tab to a node.  The balance you see is the XCR balance in the wallet/node.

As for the genesis block... the genesis delegates were created as part of the original programing.  The existing wallets of the foundation and devs were used for this.  The 30million total votes is the combined votes of all the foundation and dev wallets, that are not stored on exchanges.

All 101 delegates were needed to kick-start the blockchain. thus, we were not able to register delegates in the same manner as the users now.
Its the chicken and egg thing..... we needed the delegates to start the blockchain and to forge the delegate registrations, but need the blockchain to start the delegate registrations.  The delegates were formed prior to the snapshot of the old block chain.

As for Matts one delegate that is a little different, this happened at the final configuration when we snapshot the bc and tested the nodes.  We were making last second changes to the ownership of the delegates.  Matts additional delegate was an add after the snapshot, as I remember, cuz we were one short.

10,000 XCR in your 0.2 version wallet.  Make sure you are not using 0.1.9.  If so, you are on the wrong block chain.

100 XCR for second pass word.

Delegate can forge with 0 balance if there are enough votes to place in the top 101.

If you are 10228249788283002226C, you have 12000 in the node, and should be able to register the delegate.

Okay, I found the problem, I was using http://wallet.crypti.me (I thought it was possible to use the web client) to register my Delegate, I used the local client on my PC and it worked.

Wulf,

Perhaps we also need to inform the public that the delegate may not show up in the delegate list until the completion of the 101 forging cycle.  SO if you register a delegate, and then you dont see it right away, wait 20 mins.

Wulf may have been tying to spend the 10K before the forging and confirmation was completed.  We have 10 secnd transactions, but need 6 confirms, and with the failed forgings from many delegates, it is more like 1-1/2 mins to complete rather that 1 min.

How can these 71 of the 0.2.0 launch Delegates have balances of 89-546 XCR yet be listed as not receiving anything from the Genesis block?  I'm not saying there's a problem, I'm just curious.

Mal, we have been moving around our votes to help vote on Community members. Just to change votes made by the delegates themself, to votes for Community memebers cost a total of 202 XCR. 101 to remove each delegates vote then another 101 to vote for one of you. These accounts hold balances from fees they earn, Im not sure where your seeing a problem?

It may be a good thing to point out as well, if it's not obvious that some of the accounts had funds in them before becoming delegates. Meaning the accounts where made and a few XCR sent to them while we where on 1.9g
