Wulf,

Your uptime is still 100%...... what are you using to host the delegate?

I have made a post in regards to the arguments about Starik69 and his delegate candidacy. I invite you all to join me in discussing the merits of both sides of the argument and whether or not he warrants votes on his official Delegate thread at the Official Crypti Forums here: http://forum.crypti.me/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13&p=78#p78

@Wulf

In regards to this, can you create a delegate thread at the official forums here: http://forum.crypti.me/viewforum.php?f=17 and maybe post some details on how you are hosting (i.e. datacenter location, hardware specifications, etc). Thanks!

Quick update, I've noticed a decline in Uptime in my node, so I made a few changes. I am now running Ubuntu VS instead of a Windows Server. I will give it a day and see how it affects the Uptime. If nothing changes I will move regions and start testing out the different regions offered by Amazon Web Services.

I'm using DigitalOcean. I've got probably the lowest-end droplet, but I'm running it on Ubuntu 14.04 (64-bit), on a New York Datacenter. Full details here : http://forum.crypti.me/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=27&p=85#p85

GreXX: "If we can push in our meeting to get the delegate registration fee down to 1k XCR (or less), then I would like to offer a few bounties for community members to try to drum up interest either in the Bitshares community or others. I would be willing to pay the registration fee for respected members of BTT to try out Crypti and register as a delegate. I would be willing to fund 10 or 20 registration fees at the lower rate for sure if it gets people in the door and reading about Crypti and looking at our Roadmap and see our dedication. We could use a little positive word of mouth around the threads."

I'd also pay fees for 10 delegates.

I would pay a 1K fee for 10 new delegates as well.

As I mentioned previously, I brought it up in our meeting today and we took a vote. I think you will all be happy with the changes being made. We will update you all soon but in the meantime, don't register any more delegates if you are reading this!

Great news. I'm remembering NHZ, it was just Nxt clone, but they've got lots of people running nodes for rewards. I think it would make a lot of sense to reward the first batch of users who want to register a delegate. Later there most likely will be a competition between people who want to be a delegate, but at the very beginning you'd need to encourage people somehow.

Delegates get a share of the registration fees of all later delegates.  That's one reward.  We have been discussing that and many other ways of involving the community, and rewarding their support.

There are great things in the planning and programing stages.  So, hang in there.  It gets better.

We would like to show you previews of things we are working on but our ideas have already been copied by NXT and NODE prior to our official release.

I would also like to pledge some XCR up as a bounty for new delegates. I'm pledging 20k XCR for 20 spots if we move down to 1k.

So looking at all this makes me think of something if ppl are will to pay $200 for a delegate, once Tx volume picks up as well as price, would it be better to have it

1,000 XCR = $200
or
10,000 XCR = $200

Not crashing, just not enough buy interest. This may change after DAPPs.

As we've said from day one, we won't focus on the price or any of those external factors during development. We aren't even done with half of the features that will be a part of Crypti. Hang in there. We are still over here hammering away and when we are all said and done, we feel we are competitive with anything else currently on the market or announced for future release. That includes Factom, Eth, Eris, or even BTC for that matter. The one thing you have to remember is what I have said from day 1; Crypti isn't a get rich quick scheme and it isn't a fly by night project. We aren't pump and dumpers and we aren't here to promise the world and under-deliver. We are here to build what we set out from day 1 to build. You crowd-funded us to build something, now we are building it. Have patience. Winter is coming.

Have you identified any memory leaks yet?

In the beginning I had over 200MB free on my node with 512MB RAM, but after running for some time it was only around 45MB free. At the same time it also started to miss forging more and more blocks, so I had to restart it.

I use to see this on the smaller 512MB nodes from DO during testing. I would recommended upgraging to a 1gb node, and if your still seeing this issuse I would move from DO. The only thing I could ever come up with was its how they partition the Ram on the servers. I'm running 10 nodes right now, 3 of them are at DO and are 1gb each. They are running just fine and have double forged in many rounds. They don't use more then 300MB tops. For some reason its how they have the servers set up, 300MB on a 512MB is not the same as on a 1gb.  I hope this helps, please keep us up to date on what your seeing. Thank you for your feedback

So the 10k delegate idea failed - only 6 delegates. Sad
Will 1k idea bring 60 delegates? Huh
Oh, still not enough Cry
