A good point on the forum at the moment about block rewards https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2501.90Jabo38 and Alkaline reckon that some portion of unclaimed stakes should be put to use rewarding ' harvesting' I think that this could be important at least in the early stages of NEM development. What do you think? Anyone not registered on the Forum yet, please do and leave a comment. The first thing that comes to mind is will block reward increase the value of NEM other than enriching the individual with a few more NEMs? Is having 10 more NEMs that is worth, say, 0.2cts each better or having NEM that is worth 2cts. each. I would use the NEMs to develop more applications that will enhance the value of NEM. If we leave NEM as it is, it will never fly. Real money is being poured into Bitcoin projects. Few ever wonder beyond that. If NEM is left alone, it will be like a feather coin reenacted. What we need is a holistic offering that people cannot help but to use it. We should spread NEM as much as we can. For this reason it would be better not to reward harvesting people by a separate bonus. The more we can spread NEM, the more people will trust NEM. And you all know that we need trust for our aim to establish a new economy movement. So we could invest the unclaimed stakes for App-development ( like NEM Wallet, perhaps also some small NEM games like candy-crush, doodle jump combined with chat-function). App-development like this for example will help to bring NEM into everybody's mind. Just my 2 cents

We need bter.com and btc38! When NEM launch, marketcap of NEMcoin supposed to be at least 3~4 M dollars. It's 12~15th largest marketcap among about 500 cryptocoins. There is no reason major exchanges does not list BTC-NEM pair market.

I think in order to get NEM off the ground it will need some direct FIAT links so people can buy into it without too much hassle.
Any coin thats dependent on another - say bitcoin - for people to buy more of that currency is just going to hinder progress, from what i can see.

Absolutely agree with this....I had a mate asking me if there was an easy way to get some NEM the other day. I said sure I could send you some if you download wallet, only thing is I wasnt prepared to give up any of my NEM yet.... oh dear ,so I said just register on an exchange, send Id, get bitcoin..blah blah blah......too much of an ordeal.... So yeah....straight to NEM from FIAT would be a HUGE advantage....is it easy to do though? Thats the question.

Absolutely right. I have been thinking so hard about decoupling NEM from BTC and going straight to fiat. I think I have found the solution. But it is still going to be hard if banks don't play ball. I've only found one bank so far but that's not enough.

Good news for the short term is invest in it for the long term. That's about the shortest term news you can get.

Assuming a few are interested in us but if they come on board we must give them time to evaluate our APIs. Would you rather we delay and wait for all of them to come in first or just go with the first one approved?

...straight to NEM from FIAT would be a HUGE advantage....is it easy to do though? Thats the question.
Step 1: Take one of 9 fiat currencies to CCEDK.com (legally registered, known owner/runner etc) Step 2: Trade Eur/Dollar... etc. directly for Nxt. Step 3: Trade Nxt on AE for Nemstake. Quite low liquidity on CCEDK.com atm but enough for someone with $50 they want to risk, with a little patience. Quickest, simplest way there is IMO.
