I had a serious problem today with one of my NEM accounts. While activating delegate harvesting, and sending the activation transaction, the client lagged for a second or so where I double clicked on sending the transaction. After that I saw two different delegate harvesting activation transaction. Once both transactions been confirmed the account got missed up. It now shows "status unknown".
Every time I switch to that account I get an error message: ERROR 306 An error occurred that the development team did not have foreseen. Apologies for this, maybe a retry might help. Otherwise, please open up an issue within the NEM NIS/NCC community
The balance shows: ------------------------- Current Balance Loading balance XEM ------------------------
I've successfully sent all the XEMs in that account to another account. This is a serious issue that the devs should fix asap.
Searching for the account in nembex.nem.ninja results in an internal server error 500.

The problem been automatically resolved by the NEM network. It seems the secondary activation transaction been rejected by the network and now the account is totally back to normal. Great JOB NEM

and how do you come to the conclusion that ordinary users are unprotected against hackers if you havent even seen the source code?
Security thru obscurity => hackers will decompile binaries anyway, ordinary users can't do it and hence can't review the system. With IDA Pro disassembler ? Please Devs ==> strong security. The logo is a shield..............................

I guess as your only looking at develpper posts and not mine Im not as equal as you guys. I am betting the leaders all have their stakes.

This is a cut and paste of a message I sent to the NEM admin team.
Hi,
I just wanted to tell you what happened, I won't beg but please read what I say. I Lost my secret key and account details a moth or so ago and you gave me another one. Unfortunatly a few days before launch my laptop which AlI had the secret key stored on for no reason decided to crash and said I had to put a Windows OS disc into the drive to recover. I live as an expat in Asia, there is no easy way for me to get windows on Disc without a lot of hassle plus I have to use my computer for preparing material for teaching. So I did a system reset which have me no option to recover files, just a complete restore.
So I feel pretty annoyed. Thing is I followed this coin from way back at the beggining in fact that's why my name is nextgencoin because I was active with NXT and then followed NEM. So after over a year a few days before I get my coins my laptop does this. I can't help feel unlucky.
So my point is I genuinely believe I deserve to get a stake from the large amount of coins held by the NEM team and as more stakeholders the better I felt it was a just thing to ask for one. It's up to you and your team if I get one. Here is my locked account.
The NEM admin I guess quite fairly said they can't do that behind the back of the community. But they also said I should ask The community IF I deserve a stake. I guess it's up to feedback on here now. I won't beg I just think it's fair.
So you are referring to this comment I think. Your situation is really sad. I am not sure, but I doubt much of the community will support you. Look, I believe you, but if NEM starts giving away free stakes to everybody who lost their private key, then people will line up claiming to have lost their key. Also, please let this be a message to everybody else, please back up your private key in more than one location. hard drives break or paper wallets get lost or pass words get forgotten. please make sure you have a back up.

If someone makes wild allegations without any grounds then no...noone will comment on that.
It's common practice to publish source code for review. Exactly for the reason mentioned in that my post. Noone needs any grounds to assume that software is insecure, all programs working with cryptography and financial stuff are assumed insecure until audit is done.

It is one thing to assume and ask for the code. It is another thing to... after Jinn is released.
This is too long to wait, I doubt that NEM devs will keep ordinary users unprotected against hackers that long. ...imply that the devs deliberatly leave users unprotected against hackers. You could have just asked to do a code review. Like a normal person public or private. But no - you have to always play your little games. If your job right now is to asses the security of cryptos then you suck at it - hard - because appearantly you can't talk to anyone without playing mindgames which won't exactly guarantee their cooperation.

Dude im not going to sweat it. But if the Nem team werent holding onto so many stakes and clearly my account is locked forever i was pleading to the less dogmatic side of this community. Like i said im sorry i bothered.

You can make the query like this: h ttp://127.0.0.1:7890/account/get?address=TALICELCD3XPH4FFI5STGGNSNSWPOTG5E4DS2TOS or, if the port 7890 is open, the request can be done remotely: h ttp://<node's_ip>:7890/account/get?address=TALICELCD3XPH4FFI5STGGNSNSWPOTG5E4DS2TOS Among other information, will be "status":"LOCKED" or "status":"UNLOCKED". In the first case harvesting does not work in the second work.
In Nembex this status is not displayed correctly, for all accounts written Status: LOCKED.
In reference to harvesting it IS correct, if you see it says UNLOCKED, as that means someone is harvesting with your account on a machine from which nembex is collecting the data.

I made an attempt to get in touch privately but it was ignored. How would you paraphrase that my post (that looked harsh to you) if you believed that you found a weak spot but the devs didn't care even to listen about it?* --------- * - this is not a rhetorical question.
