wanted to post the same information that the faucet is not working. you should make a note on the website that it is under maintanence. Just want to let you know that there is probably an issue with the official NEM faucet. I get an error trying to request some NEM. "An error occured, please, try again.". The faucet is still funded and I tried it yesterday and today without success.
I know, no issues, faucet will be down for the weekend, few things to change in the code.

Hey guys, I got my friend into NEM, but he is noob..he started his wallet like 4 hours ago. It showed him 105 days behind...and now it stays at 102 days, is that normal? he restarted it several times, any idea, what should he do? It is version 0.6.43
Delete database and start again. Go to nem.io under support and look for deleting the database. It is probably corrupted. Also is he on Java 8. finally, if there is nothing on the wallet, delete the NCC directory as well. Look under misc tutorials: http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/

That's rediculous. I vote no one ever call xem "fuel".
+1 Fuel is an Ethereum term, i see it with some other coins too. ok xem- quantum crystals for money transfers. xem- energy crystals for money transfers. xem- quantum energy crystals for money transfers. None of those, naming is not your forte. if fuel already is in person eth, then xem has to become engine!! yeah! xem is engine for money transfers

They are embarrasing and I feel they devalue the seriousness of the project with chessy catch phrases. Plus it may confuse new members. Eth being fuel and xem being engine would signify they are some how related and work together which simply is not correct at all.

The Wankel engine is a type of internal combustion engine using an eccentric rotary design to convert pressure into rotating motion. Over the commonly used reciprocating piston designs, the Wankel engine delivers advantages of: simplicity, smoothness, compactness, high revolutions per minute, and a high power-to-weight ratio. The engine is commonly referred to as a rotary engine, although this name applies also to other completely different designs. All parts rotate moving in one direction as opposed to the common piston engine which has pistons violently changing direction. The four-stroke cycle occurs in a moving combustion chamber between the inside of an oval-like epitrochoid-shaped housing, and a rotor that is similar in shape to a Reuleaux triangle with sides that are somewhat flatter... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wankel_engine

if at at all then MEM would be only that make sense
1 MEM mega makoshi = 1.000000 1 KEM kilo makoshi = 0.001000 1 makoshi =0.000001

You can download the chain at http://bob.nem.ninja/nis5_mainnet.h2.zip and insert it so the computer will sync faster. Instructions are here http://blog.nem.io/how-to-import-the-database-file-provided-by-developers/Alternatively he could use the QuickStart guide. http://blog.nem.io/nem-quick-start-guide/We know it is a pain for newbies to have to follow all these steps or do stuff like that, so when the mobile apps come out or maybe when we get some upgrades to NCC (we have already talked about how to do that) it will just be click and instant on.

It seems projects like this nobody cares: http://www.coindesk.com/press-releases/infoteria-private-blockchain-startu/Anyway, crypto trolls here won't care. They only rant and curse it because they see nothing in the movement of the price. It is ok. They can continue to do so. As I said, what is more important is the few of us are tirelessly working on it. Soon, people will realise more and more of NEM would hit mainstream. Fact is, mainstream won't care to speculate on the price of XEM. And fact is, mijin is not the only initiative that is moving on. There will be others coming along as we progress. It is a multi-prong market approach by multiple parties. This deserves a reread for anybody. The real stock of the real companies involved in this deal have gone up a lot in Japan on this news. One company has tripled its value. That's not a crypto pump of BTT scammers. That is real traders on the floor in Tokyo calling out buys and sells. NEM is working on real projects, not trying to get 16 year olds to buy in on hype so trolls and pumpers can cash out.

I recently attended an Inside Bitcoins conference with Makoto in Seoul where he was a speaker.
Last year when I went nobody had even heard of NEM. Next year I wouldn't be surprised if we have a greater role and presence.
Makoto and I have made contacts at the very top of the Blockchain world in Korea. It's nice to get him out of Japan. I can also report he is a very good representative of NEM in real life and is very likeable. I'll report back more when any definitive results bear fruit.
