I think market cap. in Q2/3 of 2016 will be around 7-8 million.
11 million could be 2016s ATH.
My conservative guess
any opinions?

I realy think it could be higher , look at eth , eth does not have anything we do not have except money.

so are NEM technical solutions able to do smartcontracts?

As I understood it yes with the new mosaic update coming in 1 hour

Nope! No smartcontracts yet.

That post. That avatar.

Anyway, got my supernode up and running finally. Waiting for test results to come in, nothing yet.

Tests happen every 6 hours. Also you should prob wait for a few tests to happen as the first couple of tests often fail across the board even for perfectly good nodes.

50K XEM payment to register a namespace.
Why so expensive? And who is getting the 50K??

At 130sats/XEM I can register ~15namespaces for 1BTC.
And I have to pay extra for subdomains.

will the 50k be reduced if/when XEM doubles in value?
what is the duration of the registration? (the lifetime of the network?)

I'm guessing all fees will have to be adapted if the XEM price were to explode.
You have to renew every year. I'm not sure if renewal costs as much though.

50K for a 1 year registration.

So who gets the 50K? (the miners/stakers?)
And is the NEM namespace system censor-resistant? (e.g. can domains be blacklisted or revoked?)

Sorry dude, someone already registered:
porn : http://chain.nem.ninja/#/namespace/696f5f3f13f6eecaeeb1989504659a2d7f9c6ba03f2c19660e45ad644c491863

(no no way to blacklist / revoke - and no such system is planned)

P.S. if you're saying that you can register 15 domains with 1 btc,
there's already something wrong with that kind of thinking, that's exactly why NS rental fee is high.

You should register your root, and then evereything else, down below it.

Folks,
I just got phone call from friend of mine whom I helped to participating in Xem.
She said there is 0 balance on her address submitted succesfully for NEM redemption phase March last year. I remeber that everything went ok - she received 2250000NEM's - that was last May/June when I checked her address and said her: all ok, you got your stake.
Today, after conversation I went to XEMblockchain and saw 0 balance and no trace of initial stake transaction from...

Anyone to explain this fact?

It's quite personal as her initial address was generated on my computer... Smiley

At least post the public address so we can see.

this is her address NBSNX4-UYEXVZ-JUKM6N-BSDVTB-A2TDWW-HIOCFJ-2S6J

strange as it shows 0 and no trace of initial 2250000 income - anyone can help?

The above address is not in the nemesis block, so how could you confirm she got her xem? I guess you confirmed on a different address...

Will also be a lot cheaper since sub-namespaces are cheaper.

those additional fees are collected in the namespace and mosaics sink accounts:

should we be able to create a new namespace now since it's pass block 440k?

my buttons are still unable to create one on 0.6.72

Edit: updated to 0.6.73 but buttons still inactive, Im on a MAC....
same here, 0.6.73, win 7

Namespace

There is a known bug in the lightwallet where it has the testnet namespace address in the lightwallet file instead of the main chain namespace address.  It was an honest mistake and we apologize for this mistake that carried over from testing it on the testnet.  A newest release is being prepared.  The main chain namespace is  NAMESP-ACEWH4-MKFMBC-VFERDP-OOP4FK-7MTBXD-PZZA; you can tell because it starts with a N instead of a T.

So if you are running your own NIS and connecting locally to lightwallet via http://127.0.0.1:7777/ then go to package -> nis -> lightwallet -> contollers -> txNamespace.js and change the addresses and save and refresh.

Mosaic

For those that also want to make a mosaic.  You will need to follow the same process, but the address is NBMOSA-ICOD4F-54EE5C-DMR23C-CBGOAM-2XSIUX-6TRS.  It is very important to use the different address for mosaics to make sure your transaction happens correctly.

So again if you are running your own NIS and connecting locally to lightwallet via http://127.0.0.1:7777/ then go to package -> nis -> lightwallet -> contollers -> txMosaic.js and change the addresses and save and refresh.

There was a known bug in lightwallet versions 1.2 or earlier with the namespace and mosaic sink addresses when creating a namespace or mosaic.

If you would like to make a namespace or mosaic, the newest version of lightwallet (1.4 or higher) has been tested and works well.  It can be downloaded at http://bob.nem.ninja/ and the password is "nem".

Thanks for the reply.

I had assumed it would automatically go towards the nodes securing the network.

@jelin1984: if you are using ncc and it is not starting properly, delete the file c:\users\<youruser>\nem\ncc\accounts_cache_mainnet.json.
