I'm a Nem stakeholder from the very beginning and pleased about the current Nem growth.  I'm not really familiar with cryptos and how to deal with.

Questions:
Can someone provide a XEM-escrow service to avoid usage of exchanges? Or is it already available?
(Exchange means: create an account, send XEM to buy bitcoins, send bitcoins to an exchange which sells bitcoins against Euro or USD, verify identity, then send money to my bank account) This is not user friendly (and discourages people).
Or can I find private buyers/sellers (or a platform for sellers/buyers) inside the NEM community?
Or any other idea, which simplifies the procedure?

And btw - this is what I found about a special way of encryption.
http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/visualcrypto.htm
a.m. link is about visual cryptography. Might be this technology (two layers) could be used for encryption for low (secret) data quantities (like private key).
Will probably make a test run (engraving polished silver bars) to test if and how it's suitable for silver coins.

Meanwhile I found a suitable and secure way to sell some of my NEM (without usage of an exchange)
There is a well reputed German escrow service (www.eco-treuhand.de - german language only)which is ready to offer cryptocoin trading escrow.
Wanna sell 220 000 (roughly) for 1000 USD
Buyer has to register and send money to the eco-treuhand bank account.
Seller (me) sends NEM's to the buyer's account. After being confirmed, eco-treuhand sends money to my account. If not, money will be sent back to the buyer.
Anyone here interested in buying 220 000 NEM? (fee is on me)

Why you think this will be more secure, then use polo exchange?

Polo: register - send NEM - sell NEM/buy bitcoin - send bitcoin to Kraken (after registering) - sell bitcoin against USD/Euro - send money to my bank
seems to be complicated especially if your are not familiar how to deal with echanges

Escrow: register - buyer sends money - seller sends NEM - escrow sends money to my bank
No hacks, all coins, it's a seller-buyer deal (without exchange), less chances for mistakes

I think this is an easier and more secure way to change (all) cryptos into fiat (easy crypto - fiat change is currently a problem).
Anycoin has a nice solution but NEM isn't listed.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Why should I buy XEM?
note: I have read and done my research, I just want to here it from one of the investors. Smiley

here's some recent developments:

Dragonfly Partners with Microfinance Company in Malaysia

This along with devs/team that delivers time and time again.  You will find no hype here.  Just results!

This is not to mention Supernodes, Namespaces/Mosaics, as well as the tech itself,  lots of stuff in the pipeline, & a low market cap of ~$40 million, lots more room to grow!

NEM has only been launched for a year and it is solidly in the top 10.  Soon it will be in the top 5.  I think we will see $2 sooner.

I'm curious why this coin with the large-cap not having normal Windows wallet? (That does not require installation of Java Oracle).
Is there a  POS income for the owners NEM?

A Nano wallet will come out #soon. It can be compared, for example to Waves' lite client in terms of its lightness. Shouldn't require Java.

I think the price of NEM will decouple from Bitcoin in the future and have his very own path.

The thing about an additional stake...first time i hear about that. Don't think that was an option.

Well, even if it had been discussed, an additional stake wouldn't make sense at current prices...   9 BTC silver coin!!!   Shocked

Having the option to receive the respective value of the coin in XEM would be sweet though; not everyone is willing to provide a shipping address.  If such scenario is to be considered, it makes sense to give folks the option to opt-out of receiving the coin before ordering the coins, of course.

Edit:  Then again...   it sounds like too much work for nothing...   lol   Cheesy

The silver coin project is looking a lot more viable now.  We have started some internal discussion, but a lot has changed.  We need a new manager and business proposal.  That will take quite a bit of work and we don't have one right now.   So for the first time we are looking at that project again, but have taken 0 steps and it will take a long time to actually get them in the hands of all the people that will get them once it is started.

If the project goes ahead, then there might be a chance to get a silver coin asset in place of a sliver coin for those that don't want to provide a shipping label.  They could then sell that asset on the market and somebody else could redeem.
any news about this?
thank you

Hello!
I found an old backup of the purse with the extension wlt.
To back up through the old version of the client, so the purse was not saved correctly. He writes that the password does not match.

Question to developers.
What are the hex value in wlt file can I determine the correctness of the purse?

Without seeing the wallet file no one can say if it looks like a valid one. If you want you can send me the file via pm.
Are you sure you used the correct password?

You can earn  transaction fees by harvesting blocks.
There is also the node rewards program currently running.

The wallet can be rewritten in C++ if needbe, and indeed this transition is already being done with catapult. But take note that alot of currencies are now written in java.
