NEM is indeed a very decent project, I am sure that in the future it will grow further, maybe would overtake many top coins in top 10 on Coinmarketcap.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Don't buy any looking to make money from fees. The chain is too empty. Treat it as a free bonus. You might only make 5 or 10 xem in months.

No even 5-10xem/month.
Fees are given to those who are active in the network (PoI).

See one of my accounts and the fees I harvested for being not active and having a relatively low importance score.

Hi, I'm writing a short summary of NEM for a website that I own. Here it is:

Quote
NEM is a cryptocurrency and blockchain platform launched on March 31, 2015. Inspired by an earlier cryptocurrency called Nxt, its features include a unique proof-of-importance algorithm, Eigentrust++ reputation system, multi-signature accounts, tokens, namespaces, and encrypted messaging. The cryptocurrency is especially popular in Asia where it is being tested by financial institutions and corporations. Its next major update (Catapult) is designed to increase stability and scalability – offering better network performance as well as enhanced features.

Is this correct? Are there any errors I should know about?

And does anyone know if Catapult has been released? I did a bit of googling around and there are some conflicting sources but from what I can tell, it seems that it has been released for testing on private chains but it has not yet been implemented on the main chain?

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't bother mentioning NXT. The original idea was purely to be a clone with better distribution. That was abandoned and it became a new project.

I would emphasize its capabilities of creating, integrating and mingling with private chains. That's one of the core ideas.

Catapult as a private version has been released. The public version has stalled. There's new leadership and their priority is to make public Catapult happen. No idea when though.

Ah, OK thanks for that info.

I've been away from the crypto community for a while so I wasn't completely sure if it was still accurate or not. Smiley

And finally my personal price predictions:
- 2019 ~ 0.5-2 €
- 2020 ~ 2-4 €
- 2020-2022 ~ WTF

this year NEM will reach the price of $ 1, I'm sure of that. when the market starts bullish NEM will rise and NEM will be on the coinmarketcap top 10 list.

i think it's impossibile to reach 1$ this year. I think that even 0.5$ can be hard to reach.

I think we should just be more realistic. 0.5$ will be a huge result...

Next ATH for NEM as well as BTC and most other cryptos isn't likely until Winter 2021.  Bull run will start around late 2020 early 2021 building up to ATH around December 2021.

No, I've come back from the future  Cheesy

Those predictions were based on my research, and a combination of upcoming events, fundamentals, and on previous trends over the last decade.

Not cool. 2 straight years of famine here in crypto land.

What do you think is the bottom on bitcoin and nem before they start going upward?

I can't put a figure on the bottoms, but it's looking quite flat in the short to medium term, it will be a stormy ride in this bear market until around late 2020 when the next major bull run is likely to begin; building up throughout the following year and climaxing around Winter 2021.  We're very likely to see highs exceeding the ones that were apparent in the Winter 2017 bull run.

It costs $5k USD to attack Ethereum Classic, $90k to attack Ethereum, and $280k to attack Bitcoin, and $260,000,000 to attack NEM. POW chains have basically nothing at stake, but in POI, there is A LOT at stake if you want to attack.

Would you mind sharing the link from which you get those estimated costs to attack networks, ETC, ETH, BTC, and NEM, please.
I guess that the costs for attacking will change considerably at different period, depends on both total networks' hashrates, price of coins, and some other components.

To all the guys who have been here from the start of nem announcement, how many cashed out more than a million $ (or several million) during 2017-2018 peak time?

I confess I did Smiley Despite all the bashing I did at nem and nem developers back in 2014-15, thank you guys.  People forget that I owned nem stakes even when I was trolling a lot here.

Ethereum was good too.

I still own a lot of nem.
