Litecoin is officially dead

This must be the biggest FUD thread of all time.

Litecoin is not dead, but it certainly needs more innovation / merchants / investors.

More innovation is required.

Not innovation but rather usage, i mean cryptos are still pretty new and not many people know about them, not even bitcoins are used that much around the world, we will get there tho, soon enough.

Refresh my memory... How many times now has Litecoin been "officially dead"?

With no developers, no new content added, a dying community, and getting destroyed by ASIC's. Litecoin's 9 lives have run up.

I wonder though, does LTC really need any more features? The presence of ASICs is going to make it quite interesting. Will the network start to centralize? Will Wall St. Want a #2? Remember, even with BTC T 600 bucks app., we are VERY early adopters.

Basically, I'm saying we don't know. I still have 1/3 of my position in it as when we broke .02 I saved what profits I had and rolled 1/2 that into XMR. The alts are nice in this way as you can (still) move things around with no tax implications. Another reason LTC is nice to have.

I get the feeling that when we look back on this time, we are just going to laugh at some of what we thought.
We are still in the womb.

I really don'T think LTC will be dead when BTC takes off and Crypto is big. Too much hashing power.
I could be wrong, but we are still in the infancy of things.

Basically, Litecoin is worth less than Blackcoin, Netcoin, OompaLoompaCoin, heck, practically anycoin that has a faster blocktime and Any other feature... Litecoin offers absolutely nothing over what 99% of these alt coins offers, even the worst alt coin offer more innovative features than Litecoin. And to those litecoin bagholders, who say that "Litecoins age and adoption" is something it offers, that's not true..There are NO reputable stores Worldwide that accept Litecoin, not one.

Verdict: Litecoin is dead, it hasn't been updated in years, it's a practically abandoned coin. I'm gonna feel really sorry to all the litecoin bagholders that are still "HODLING" when Litecoin reaches $1, 50 cents, 10 cents etc.

All ASIC resistance offers are big lie ...... soon or late for any algorithm will build a ASICs .

What innovation?? Cryptos are already innovative by themselves, litecoin is one of the most stable and better altcoins if not the best, obviously after bitcoin, it doesnt need any innovation, is not like different real currencies have any differences between them.

The stakes are incredibly high.  I'm a one-coin believer.  I believe in the future there will be one dominant blockchain.  I used to think it was BTC. But it's stagnated and there is too much bad press out there.  I think the actual one-coin will be ethereum currently. It can do incredibly impressive things that Bitcoin can't do. It's going to wow people. Bitcoin is easy to ignore. Ethereum will do things that really affect people's lives (in a good way).  And the best thing about it, anyone will be able to use that power. The realm of possibilities for what one human can do will change profoundly.

Ethereum's main selling point was smart contracts, but other coins have had those for a while now.  The developers took too long and someone else beat them to it, so Ethereum doesn't really have anything going for it apart from the hype it's getting from people who haven't noticed it's nothing special yet.  The Ether currency is also horrifically overpriced for what it is.  For example, for the price of 1 Ether you could get approximately 34369 Qora, which not only also supports smart contracts, but also decentralised webhosting, blogging and social media functionality.

I think prices will rise once we see less ltc dumped for btc, which is then dumped for fiat. LTC mining mainly focusses on either btc or fiat gains, unlike major btc farms who keep their btc. This will greatly reduce sell pressure over time.

The halving has bad effects even before it happens and a little bit afterwards but with time the price will increase but maybe not as dramatically as people think or expect, say maybe going to 5$ which would still be ok, for me at least.

Its not anymore  about predictions my friend .. now as the havilng event is going to happen in a couple of days ,ther has to be a increase in price or else no ROI in mining and no one will mine unless the price inreases again because of no mining ..

Price will remain the same.  Mining will decrease by half ( greener Litecoins!)  ... and the earth will keep spinning around the sun - one revolution per year.

Nah not really, the price was 1$ and people still mined there, the price is 3$ now so it could go down for a little even after the halvening, probably will, it always happens, before the halvening and a few days after the price goes down because everyone thinks will go up.
