With any kind of interest or adoption to crypto bitcoin will start to stall. The overflow to LTC and other semi serious crypto projects could be huge. BTC may never need to change it's code too much. I mean it could just be like the place you hold your crypto wealth and just move it to ltc and other of the top 10 alts to do your daily transactions. I would look for stability speed and volume. LTC is still excellent by comparison in all of those areas.

When you see exchanges go rocky and pause BTC withdrawals you notice everyone dives to LTC first to extract, used to be doge too but they are kind of dwindling a bit. I guess you have to accept eth is another one people are taking seriously now so I expect LTC wouldn't grab all the over-spill action from influx of crypto enthusiasts and users.

Still seems very undervalued to me. I don't think a return to 0.03 or beyond is out of the question in future.

"that's something that's sorely undervalued in the crypto space."

In my opinion it's not undervalued at all, it's overvalued.

how many times have greedy morons been wiped out by their supposedly benevolent coin creators? the lack of honesty and transparency is why crypto won't be touched by many for long, long time.

that is because people dont do their due diligence and invest in all craps.

Basically anyone can create a coin now and promise anything with it, and stupid kids will gamble money on that. I would never invest in something that has no track record.

Don't know why people think bad about LTC, and predicts sudden death? If there is enough people to believe in this project  LTC will survive for sure!I believe LTC will come back spectacularly and many will be surprised, but LTC will still be their target for spitting.

Is there a voting chart where we can see where the miners stand in this?

Hopefully LTC will avoid the blatant manipulation where a small percentage vote yes and it was publicized everywhere as 100 percent consensus witnessed this past July.

Here is a link that will demonstrate exactly what is happening on the LTC network. Keep in mind that it does not activate until January 28th. The percentage represents looking back at the last 8064 blocks (approximately 2 weeks) and which versions created them. This means that we can expect slow growth in the support field while blocks found before the upgrade are included. It's important to wait a couple of weeks after the 28th before determining what level of support exists; although, at some point it maybe obvious if segwit will be activated.

The point is that LTC cant really offer anything that the other altcoins cant.

This is a poor argument. Because BTC offers what many altcoins can offer too. 90% of the value is not in what a coin can offer, value is in the market's perception of a coin, speculation.

Agree....and also know it can offer 'seg witness' .....heh Smiley Not seeing that on the other alts yet Smiley

The way it's progressing, I don't see Bitcoin adopting Segwit this year or at all, so LTC will be the first or only one to adopt it. This is positive from the user perspective, having two identical coins (with minor cosmetic differences) doesn't make sense. There is too much opposition for Segwit and as well for larger blocks in Bitcoin, this is the reason I believe none of them is going to happen, not this year, status quo will remain.
Let LTC get Segwit and BTC stay the way it is now, this split creates choice for users and developers of Bitcoin code technology, those that would like to work with Segwit. I tend to think miners would like to test waters with enabling Segwit on LTC, BTC is too big for them to experiment. BTC fees are likely to climb to $1 for median sized transactions and it's not unimaginable that LTC can be re-valued to a cautious 0.01 BTC if this plays out. Think we can expect $2000 and $20 for BTC, LTC in 12 months.

$2000 and $50 for BTC, LTC in 12 months should be an achievable reality one would think, or hope lets say.

Totally agree

Strap on in, we are heading up soon. Reverse Head and Shoulders forming, same as in January 2015. This one is just a lot bigger.

Relax, this thread is old and kept alive to joke about the fact that no matter how many times Litecoin is mentioned as dead it has survived.

I don´t believe that Litecoin is dead. It is just going through a bad phase. I admit that there haven´t been any developments with the Coin but it is still pretty popular in China. I still believe we will see a comeback

Well going by past 'attachment to btc price' we need damn soon a BTC price of 1,250 or so and hopefully a 5 buck LTC price ..or with the current
difficulty and bitmain data halls and equipment out (L3 250mh 400w scrypt miners) my Titans will be doorstops by July and the home owners
getting L3's will be in the same boat in Sept/Oct.

So it is all BTC price to help raise LTC price at least to a point where pow scrypt miners can ride over this wave..or it will be imho like 2014
when the difficulty pump blew out all the home BTC miners...looks awful familiar Sad

Would like to be wrong..but we need such a 'bootstrap in BTC price' imho Sad

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

I was quote it. Although if the SegWit signaling will be succeeding soon.  I was feeling doubtfully with it, totally if the Ltc SegWit tries to blocking btc.
Is this the real SegWit(or short hype for LTC)? Just watch it.   Roll Eyes
IMO altcoin is not seriously needing SegWit.  Cool

I believe at this point they are hurting the future of Litecoin. By letting things go for so long. Even after seeing the market slowly moving out and getting fed up. Things are still quiet. If this was a corporation, the CEO would be fired.

A "bad phase" that's lasted for what, 3 years now? Litecoin's dead buddy.
