We are ready to move in to the next phase of the upgrade process.  Thanks to MrData for getting the software upgraded for this transition.   Smiley

Phase 1 - All WAS v1 clients need to be upgraded to the new v1 client.  This version is designed to facilitate the coin swap systematically and will be required.  We will also be pushing alerts out to this client as we prepare the WAS v2 client launch.  THIS UPDATE SHOULD BE DONE IMMEDIATELY.

Note from MrData -

We are happy to release the new version of WeAreSatoshi, 0.8.99.9. This release includes changes to enable the coin swap to WeAreSatoshi v2 which will take effect at block 517,200 which should occur on Wednesday, July 9th, 2014. You must upgrade to this version in order to take part in the coin swap.

Phase 2 - After the hard fork, the WAS v2 X11 client will be launched.  The source code is available for review now, but any blocks found for testing / review purposes will be lost when the new genesis block is formed.

All source code and binaries can be found at: https://www.github.com/WeAreSatoshi

Windows Installer - https://github.com/WeAreSatoshi/WeAreSatoshi-Binaries/blob/master/WeAreSatoshi-0.8.99.9-Setup.exe?raw=true

We anticipate this block will occur on Wednesday 7/9.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

Would it be beneficial to make a new pre anon thread for WAS v2?

My personal opinion is that it will get confusing to have multiple threads.

FYI - http://mine.was.club/ has been upgraded to the new fork.  Any coins mined here will be able to be transferred in to WAS v2.

You'll have to withdraw the coins to a forked desktop client, then follow the coin swap instructions once they are ready.  Unfortunately, you will not be able to do the coin swap directly through the mining pool.

Hard Fork Update -

I spoke with the Admin for RockyTrade.net, they will be upgrading to WAS v2 and facilitating the coin swap for all coins being held on their exchange.  Let me also tell you, this site has great dedicated one on one support and seems to be on top of their business!  It's refreshing to see an exchange being ran like this.   Smiley

v1 coin = v2 coin?

1000 v1 coin = 1 v2 coin, we're reducing the amount of coins in circulation.  This won't impact your overall value, as your "piece of the pie" shall remain the same.

Step 1 - Download the new v1 SHA256D WAS client ASAP.  This will ensure that your version 1 WAS coins can be swapped for v2 coins.  Follow the links on the OP and at http://www.was.club to download the new client.

Step 2 - When it is released, download the v2 WAS client (X11) and follow the instructions to participate in the coin swap.  The exact details will be coming, but you will simply send coins to a designated address and use the transaction comment field to enter your v2 wallet address.

Updated wallet and everything works. Keep up the great work. I know you guys are pretty busy but would you guys be able to get a multipool going so all the original miners with only sha miners can still mine this coin?

Sweet! These are exciting times! I was worried this coin was going to perish. It was having a lot of trouble getting the backing it needed. I'm very excited and am 100% supportive of the changes. Changing the algo and turning it into a PoW/PoS coin will do nothing but good things. People will want to hold the coin for longer.

The biggest problem with the WAS v1 is the ability to absolutely flood the market.

Keep up the great work guys!

Why did you rewrite the code? I am a big holder of the REAL #WAS and I am not happy you have taken over MrBrew's coin and made all old coins worthless.  Its clearly all part of a scheme to make a buck off people who believe in your fake WAS takeover.
you are a moron.the coins are worthless because WAS is doing nothing.now they might be worth something.

OK, here's my concern. If there is 0 volume at 1 satoshi as it is. How will reducing the coin supply make it all of a sudden worth 100 sats. That is what would need to happen or else we would all be losing all of our value.

If we reduce coin supply and there is still no volume what makes you so sure that this will make it rise above 1 sat? If this doesnt work we all just lost like 99% of our money
