Well, as I start this reply it's 1:23pm.

I just OC'd all four of my S3's to 237.5, I have a dentist appointment at three. So after I hit the post button. I'm gonna do a single refresh on all four to see web stats. After that I'll let everything be til probably around 4pm when I get back. If everything looks good, I'll leave them all on 237.5 for 24hrs.

If after that, everything still looks good. Then about this time tomorrow or so I will take the proverbial plunge and try 250 on one of them for 24hrs. If that holds good, then I'll set the second at 250 and let run 24hrs, so on and so forth til I t all four on 250 if I'm lucky.

Between 237.5 & 250, is there any other freqs, I think I saw someone say 240 or something a few pages back.
Ok, so back from the dentist, checked on the four S3's and no x's but I did however notice something weird and maybe it will wind up between now and tomorrow. Anyway, below are as of this post... Elapsed Time, Gh/s(5s) & Gh/s(avg) as well as the HW & the Diff a & r figures.

My curiosity is in tthe avg speed of miners 1 & 3 while 2 & 4 look good. Haven't done the HW% math, maybe someone could for me ? lol.

Oh ya, all four are OC'd to 237.5

Miner 1
Time: 2h 23m 11s
5s: 451.62
Av.: 445.94
HW: 269
Diff A: 867,072
Diff R: 2,560

Miner 2
Time: 3h 6m 23s
5s: 471.79
Av.: 474.91
HW: 927
Diff A: 1,222,656
Diff R: 4,096

Miner 3
Time: 2h 56m 37s
5s: 468.71
Avg.: 458.37
HW: 86
Diff A: 1,109,504
Diff R: 1,536

Miner 4
Time: 3h 6m 6s
5s: 501.62
Avg.: 475.88
HW: 54
Diff A: 1,244,160
Diff R: 1,536

About this time tomorrow I'll use actual pics when it will be ~24hrs that they will all have been up on 237.5.

Power consumption?
Each one on it's own min 1k watt PSU using all four power ports. Have done a reset or two since the quoted post but all four seem stable now all ~470Gh/s @ 237.5. I can with certainty say I wont be attempting 250 since 2 of 4 miners seemed flaky at first on 237.5, but like I said. After some resets, all seem fine now on that freq doing ~470.

Miner 1 new Uptime: ~1hr
Miner 2 new Uptime: ~1hr 30min
Miner 3 new Uptime: ~1hr 30min
Miner 4 new Uptime: ~1hr 30min

Will be checking them off and on til I go to bed tonight but if any are showing x's / aren't hashing ~470 this time tomorrow which will give me ~24hrs. I'll have to DC the "bad" ones to 225 and see how they hold for 24hrs.

I was thinking of having my collo guy re-paste them but I doubt it would do anything, and besides that... all temps look good right now.

Miner 1: 42/42
Miner 2: 43/42
Miner 3: 42/42
Miner 4: 40/43

I did notice the high RPM on miner 2... FWIW, here's all the units RPM's. Assuming all checks out this time tomorrow, I'll upload pics and work out the HW%.

Miner 1: 3180/1860
Miner 2: 10,080/11,040
Miner 3: 1920/1800
Miner 4: 2460/2040

To be decided...

There are 262 pages not easy to read them all.

My S3 will be in my hands tomorrow. What I would like to learn is whether I can use a Butterfly labs 50GH/s Power Supply on Antminer S3 ?
I have already bought a 600W PSU with two 6 pin cables because I'm not going to overclock.
But if Butterfly labs PSU works with S3 I will give the new one back.

If anybody can give an idea I appreciate...

I have a BFL60 (the one that was supposed to run at 60GH/s but actually runs somewhere between 50 and 57 GH/s) with the power supply that came with it from BFL. The power supply I was running an S3 on decided to quit and the power supply from the BFL60 was the only one around that I could pull and use. I ran the S3 on the BFL power supply for almost three days waiting for a replacement Corsair CX500 to come in for the S3.

Check the label on the BFL power supply. If it produces 31 amps of 12v then you have enough to run an S3 but don't even think of trying to over clock it while on the BFL power supply. Consider the BFL power supply a short term solution only.

add frequency advanced setting

I wonder if it's for OC / DC via web.

Edit: Also, how do I check my current FW ?

I tried it out and my ant decided to just sit back, relax and open up a beer at 100 gh/s. Rolled back and it's still just dicking about at 400gh/s instead. Maybe I did something wrong

Is anybody using the Antmonitor software together with the new firmware?
After updating the firmware, the monitor does not display any values for this S3.
In the webinterface and pool all is ok.

Yup Same here, for me M's Antmonitor crashes on a dot net error, and CGremote Can't query the Api to get the pool data.

Good thing i only flashed 1 Ant, i wonder if you can downgrade the Firmware to go back 1 version so i can get it to display properly.

after you upgrade it, you need to save and restart from the new Freq Tab, than you'll get your proper speed.

So the only change then as far as anyone knows is OC / DC from the web ?

Still now sure if I want to flash, not too sure how let alone see what FW I even have right now.

No point in me upgrading firmware then. I've tried every other frequency under the sun and I just get either disastrous instability or dead chips. But then I haven't tried 219 yet. Swear I must've got a dud unit or something as it seriously sucks that I can't even seem to hold it at the 440 gh/s the S3's are rated for...

Speaking of diff freq's, like 219, anyone report whats in the freq tab or ust the four basics ?

Does the freq tab allow for custom freqs, as far as I can tell, there's 3 values needed.

Edit: Can someone still tell me how to check current FW version ?

Ty.

This seems to be the only change.  Be sure to do a software reboot after you upgrade.

i know how you feel, i got a pair from B2 and 1 is stable at default around 430ish, the other is a real lemon, doesn't matter what freq i try, it always fall back to around 390ish, reboot, new paste, switch the control board. but i least today i received another pair of units from B6 and these are stable at default for 440ish.

Obviously I haven't been able to read all 260 pages of this thread, but I read some of the initial posts concerning people being unsatisfied with their over clocking speed. I just wanted to say that I have 6 units that I ordered from Batch 4 and I was surprised at how much extra hashing power I ended up getting from setting my frequency to 250 MHz (I guess because I saw so many complaints initially).
Each over clocked unit hashes ~490 GH/s, sometimes over 500 GH/s. Not to mention,  I am only using a single PCI on each hashing board.

Well, if you had read the pages, you'd have known to let your S3s run for 24 hours or so (instead of just an hour) to get them to settle in order to get a more accurate average hash rate.

Just got done flashing all four to the new firmware, hope all holds up well. If not, I go my backup I made.

Which BTW, can backups be used as rollbacks ?

Ex. Say new FW hates me, can I use backup to go back or do I need to get a new DL from the Bitmain site ?
