Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Navajo has and always been in the best interest of me.

And yes there is an update coming for it with the said improvements and its best looking out for it than me telling about the update without showing it.

Hi all,

Some good questions here. To clarify. Charles’s Cambridge who runs the charity we are supporting, though a Navajo tribe member is not one of the elders living in impoverished conditions. He has been built a NAV wallet address and is receiving and exchanging the coins into US currency.
You’ll be able to read a full write up about Kimochi on our website.
This is not our main business strategy. This is a charity that we believe in and would like to support. We are called NAV coin now .The donations system is in support of the tribe and other indigenous groups but not aligned to it on a brand level.
Although we always tell our NAV community things first. This is aimed at the wider digital community as well. While it is not our primary business strategy, we do think it will be of benefit to the coin.
Our strategy is, increasing the trading markets we are part of, and releasing features the decentralised anonymous system.

Thanks, Sophia

Hello again,

In response to questions regarding the NAV team. I have been away the past few weeks and working on Nav’s new charity. Happy to say that I am back working on NAV more. While Craig’s dev time is reduced due to his job he is still committed to the decentralisation project. As regards Soopy and his involvement in other alt currencies, Soopy is not involved in the decentralisation project as Craig is the lead developer on that. whatever his involvement in other coins is, he has assured us that they do not involve NAV’s anonymous technology. As previously mentioned it is a the sole property of NAV coin. And of course our other 2 members are committed as ever.

Decentralisation Update

Hi Navajo Community,

Phase 2 of decentralization is well under way. I have completed the scripts necessary to read the received server list from the p2p data and compare the received list to our local server list. If there are new servers on the received list, the wallet will ping the new server and verify the new servers using the cryptographic hash of the server's anonymous functions and then update the computers locally stored server list with any newly verified servers.

You can track my progress in the latest commit:

https://github.com/navcoindev/navcoin/commit/84ec92c9019878bb941228d71c7e5a194c4b8e33

The work involved in phase 2 can be broken down into the following tasks with their own series of requirements

1. Receive new server list from peers and process it

check if the list differs from our local list
check if the sent hash matches our local hash
collate a list of servers which are not on our list
test servers then add to local list

2. Send our server list to peers

retrieve existing list as JSON
send through network to our peers

3. Periodically test servers to prune network

retrieve local list
choose a set of servers to test and test them
set timeoutCount of any servers which were not responsive or down
remove any server tested which has the wrong hash
decommission server after 10 failed attempts

4. Encrypt stored server data

encrypt server list before saving to file system
decrypt server list for use in sendCoinsDialog and distribution functions

--

From this list, items 1 and 3 are mostly completed, however they need wiring up to the p2p network and rigorous testing.

So my approximation is that we're about half way through phase 2 (of 3) of the decentralization.

Also to clarify, i have been working 60+ hours per week for the last 3 weeks but next week is my last week working that many hours. From March 7 my hours go back to 40 hours per week so I will have ~20 hours per week for NAV from then onwards. At the end of March I will be reducing my day job hours to 20 hours per week and will be able to spend ~40 hours per week working on Crypto!

We are still set to make some really good progress as we approach the release of our decentralized anonymous system and I look forward to seeing the marketing strategies that Sophia and Strugg have put together play out.

Talk soon,
Craig.

ok ... now im curious ...

so what you are saying is that the anonymous tech that you are implementing in nav is NOT opensource? ... yet being used with ( and under ) opensource software and licensing? ...

and if so - what makes its navs right to refuse disclosure of the code - if someone asks for the code to be distributed with the technology within this opensource project? ...

in this respect - im asking under which license you are claiming that the anonymous technology you are referring as 'the sole property of nav coin' and how it is completely separate to the coin and its infrastructure? ... if it is tied in - then it will be tied in also under the same license ... which means it is required to be published if someone asks for the code to be published along with the technology ...

so please inform us all under which license it is based - and if it is completely separate to the coin and licensing of the coin code ...

tanx sophia ...

btw - all in all - it is a really good project ...

and the best part of this is that you DONT publish your postings in MASSIVE headings and BIG font in BOLD with INCREDIBLY HUGE LOGO that takes up three quarters of the screen in high definition ... that gets quite irritating to read and continuously scroll through - when all one wants to do is catch up on the news in the thread ...

keep up the great work ...

I'm happy to reconsider the format of our official announcements if its an eyesore to the community. The idea was to make them highly recognisable compared to other users posts so you can find our announcements easier if you're skimming. But i get your point.

tanx pakage ...

its not an eyesore so much - just an irritation ... and im speaking on my part only ...

if exposure and recognition is what you wanted - then you got it with that format ... but i will admit - makes me feel liek i need to stand back a little ways to read it from the screen - and the logo ( as nice as it is ) does NOT need to be pushed and published on every post - especially in massive format ... after all - this IS the nav thread ... the logo in your profile name is more than enough ...

i dont speak on behalf of anyone else in the community - but myself ...

you come out with informative and well thought out posts - with facts figures and news ... dont change that part please ...

you know who are the main people who do the BOLD and MASSIVE texts usually? ... fudders and naysayers and negative members - at least from what i have seen anyway ... check out almost every other thread and you can pick them a mile off due to the same style of posting ... i much prefer this format you have used than the previous ...

once again though - these are MY opinions and thoughts - and i dont represent anyone else here in the community ...

tanx pakage ... and keep up the great work you are all doing - though i still would like an answer to the licensing and code questions i posed also in the previous post ...

Hi,

the daemon responsible for the blockexplorer was down. This is why it was not up to date. The same with the faucet.
I exportet all these services to a new stable server now and the daemon is running as service with automatic restart, so this problem should be solved forever now!

NAV coin is open source, it is on Github for everyone to see. The Anon Subchain is based on the same open source block chain technology as the main coin so the same rules apply. The server scripts which were written to process the anonymous transactions using the subchain are not an extension of the same open source code base though. They are not even in the same programming language. They exists outside of the coin's core code and for the moment are closed source. The code for the anon server itself will released to the public once I have finished the current decentralisation project and safeguarded the code so we can distribute it without being compromised / misused.

I hope that explains the current situation and the future plans.

it does ...

tanx for the clarification pakage ...

it means that all that is the 'coin' is oss ... and all that is 'apps' as an extension for the coin isnt oss - but closed source ...

thats a fair derivation of the codebase ...

Ok fellas.  New feature(s) added to dedicated navcointalk forum:

1.) Enabled Clef 2FA authentication (and made a requirement for admin level accounts)
2.) Enabled Social Login capability for the following Networks (Twitter, Google+, and Facebook)
3.) Enabled Topic/Post social media sharing buttons for same three aforementioned social networks (and a few others)

*We aren't just some blow-hard forum that talks a tough game and then fails to deliver.  I believe the next crypto coin forum needs to be quiet, but tough... "Please clap!"  (sorry, couldn't resist the Jeb! pokage:p)

The name Navajo is something I have learnt to respect due to this crypto currency. It's because of Navajocoin I was introduced to the story of the Navajo Code Talkers and their remarkable story. How a man was punished for speaking his native language at school and then asked to use that very language to encrypt top secret messages    to help win the battles of War.

Its great to see one day when the time is right,  I will have an opportunity to Donate some NAV to the Navajo elders via Sophias efforts. I highly appreciate your efforts in organizing and implementing this Donation strategy.

Thank you.
