If someone has the time can you give me a quick run down on how to get the block chain and peers etc files compiled for the windows version of the full desktop wallet. I can't seem to figure it out. I also have Ubuntu I can use if easier and I do usually prefer but can't find a guide.
Once this is done and I deposit NAV I can begin staking, am I right that this is like mining and you get a reward or not really?
Still interested in the raspberry pi 3 staking unit, I have 3 I don't really use and wouldn't mind setting them up. I only have a vague idea of how it all works but pick it up quick if anyone wants to give me some details on this.
Hi thisisanalias,
Please use the windows Installer which will give you the option to download the blockchain as a part of the installation process , this will be faster.
http://www.navcoin.org/files/NavCoin_3.6.0.exe
Mentioned below are the Linux compiling instructions.sudo apt-get install build-essential sudo apt-get install libssl-dev sudo apt-get install libdb++-dev sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev sudo apt-get install libqrencode-dev sudo apt-get install libgmp3-dev git clone https://github.com/navcoindev/navcoin2cd navcoin2/src/secp256k1/ ./autogen.sh ./configure --enable-module-recovery make cd /root/navcoin2/src/ rm -rf obj mkdir obj chmod 777 leveldb/build_detect_platform make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=1 strip navcoind The Pi wallet is being developed , it will be available soon.
Let us know if you have further queries.
Warm Regards, ~SoopY~

The other Windows downloads are corrupted it tells me. I already have the zips for blockchain and NAV wallet zip, just wasn't sure how to setup to get it to read the blockchain and peers etc. Also for your info Ubuntu 16.04 install didn't work properly, got some errors and warnings. I managed to get the gui open and had 1 peer for like 2 seconds but I had to work around a different way to install that also and don't trust now it is secure or missing files with the warnings etc. I'll firgure it out, just wanted to start staking rather than it sitting on phone wallet (which I keep getting crashes with if I enter the settings menu so you know for bugs. Android 5.1 Chinese MTK phone Rooted), but might just use the electrum lite wallets for now. Looking forward to the future developments

Do you have anything to do with the real Navajo tribe? Other than misappropriating their name and symbols as an alleged "honor" to the Codetalkers?
If you don't have any real connection to the Navajo, you're mighty stupid. You don't "honor" somebody by taking their name and symbols and using it in your cryptocurrency venture. What you are doing is basically cultural piracy.
Does the Indian Nation have a copyright to the "Navajo" name? If not, you really have nothing to say. Does American Airlines appropriate "American Values"? http://www.telesurtv.net/english/news/Not-Famous-Enough-Navajo-Nation-Loses-Urban-Outfitters-Case-20160518-0031.htmlBut changing the name probably kept a lot of time from being wasted on stupidity like that, all while keeping the Navajo people from having their own successful coin.

The windows downloads worked fine , did you use a download manager or as such? Because they do usually corrupt the file when downloaded as IDM and such download enhancers tend to break down the file. We will further investigate as well and update as necessary but the last time we checked everything worked good.
Ubuntu 12.04 is ideal.
Thank you for notifying us of the Android issues you are affected with on your mobile , we will take a look and if needed push out a fix.
Thank you very much for being a part of the NAV movement.
Warm Regards, ~SoopY~

Hi there, New to the forum but not new to NAV. Thanks for doing such great work on NAV! The android app also has issues for me. Indeed when going into the settings menu and selecting one of the options will make the app force close. HTC 10, Android 6.0.1. The android wallet does function properly however to receive and send coins. I really like how the development of NAV focuses on usability and a user friendly experience. KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid, is the key to succes if we want to reach the average customer. A mobile wallet with coming anon transactions will really help with this. I am also thinking about the possibility of using NFC to do fast small payments in the future. I will be following the development closely and hope for a bright future, partly because of the money I can make with it, but mostly because I really see that NAV has what it takes to improve payment experience internationally and online. Best of luck! ps. perhaps the name Navajo coin is not really helping at the moment. Something like Neutral Anonymous Virtual Coin or whatever might be more appealing. pss. The NAV logo is very sexy

The NAV logo is very sexy I wish I or someone else had thought of that when we were rebranding. That would make for a great backronym. Anyway, the navajo issue is old, the post quoted was from 2014.

That solves the issue - nice clear vision of the coin. What does NAV stand for again? Don't ya love it when an alt coin has an identity crisis? When will the manipulators come out with "StarvingChildrenCoin"? Bit late don't ya think? . .

WAT no really WAT? NAV coin. they changed the name over a year ago, during rebranding and new logo phase. this coin has nothing to do with navajo or summercoin anymore, just NAV. I'm sure we can all come up with our own acronym for nav. the newbie before posted a good one. Neutral Anonymous Virtual currency.
