Wow the price has proper shot up  Smiley One very sick coin  Smiley

BitcoinDark is still unknown to most of the masses.   I can only begin to imagine what will happen once that changes.
When I said BTCD will be > DRK and also Top 10 coin, maybe only a few people believe me.
So far, everything that I have predicted has come true.
Some people say that I am just lucky Smiley

OK, I have another thankless task that needs a non-coding volunteer.
I feel that we need to have somebody that understands the BTCD network in detail, eg. how many nodes, how many are privacyServers, stuff like that.

I guess it is kind of technical, but I hope there is someone that can be the goto person for info about the network. When we start ramping up Teleport (and InstantDEX) usage, the network capacity will be very critical factor. I designed Teleport to minimize resource usage, but based on BTCD history (3 peta(!)hash, top 20 coin in first month) I think it is prudent to be prepared for some crazy rapid growth.

what if some Fortune 500 company decides to use BTCD for their international funds transfers? Can we handle this?

So that type of thing.

Anybody?

James

P.S. Now I say volunteers, but I reserve the right to give stuff to the volunteers that produce. I seem to have a reputation for being somewhat generous as I tend to overpay people, but when someone just does a great job, I feel the urge to bonus Smiley

Nice work with this coin James. I'm a little late, but finally on board.
Thanks.

Still very early days. Current price is only based on the promise of the tech and only to very small audience. This thread is not so visible and very little press coverage. keep in mind that if there were 10 million BTCD, at current marketcap they would be ~20 cents each, so the low number of BTCD is making the price of each one look "expensive"

When the "NXT inside" BTCD branded GUI comes out, it will have all the 2.0 crypto features of NXT, along with all the NXTservices and also Teleport. And what most people dont know is there will also be two dividend streams (InstantDEX + NXTprivacy) that will be paying BTCD staker's in BTC or NXT, so in addition to 5% per year, there is growing dividends

All the BTCD growth also helps NXT (both its network and txfees) as NXT is needed for both the GUI to have the 2.0 features and NXTservices. It is like the Dell computer (BTCD) has Intel CPU (NXT) inside. I dont know why the NXT clones didnt take this approach, it makes a lot more sense to me

Whats the lowdown on this credit debit card.  I noticed Xapo are going to be taking the piss with transaction fees.  What are the btcd card fees going to be? any idea?
NXTprivacy.org has some small amount of details. The goal is to keep the fees to ~3% to get the fiat onto the card. Any fees the ATM charges is of course separate from the card, as that is an ATM fee.

BitcoinDark is still unknown to most of the masses.   I can only begin to imagine what will happen once that changes.
if you sort altcoins ANN section by number of views, BTCD thread is on the fifth page.
So even within crypto community, BTCD is very little known
I think this is good. It lets the people that are paying attention in at a early stage of the escalator ride up the rankings
during the PoW arms race to 3 petahash, the people who were able to rent miners got the coins, but I think there were hundreds of miners, so already a pretty even distribution.
Then the first 10 days, the price was just so low, anybody could buy 1% of the coin for a BTC or so.
Even after I got involved, there was an initial spike, but a week where the price just went sideways. So a lot of people were able to get BTCD at good prices and as it spiked and fell back, many new people.

The last week has been an accelerating price increase pattern, but I keep saying it is going a bit too fast. Now we are back to top 10 in volume, so that is why the price is going up more than the 5% a day it was.

so i expect some sort of pullback after this recent surge of volume goes down, at least I hope so, I want to buy more. If someone is selling a large lot of BTCD to exchange for NXT, I will pay a premium over market price. PM me if you have 5000+ for sale

This coin is so impressive. I wish there was some kind of way to know when a coin will be a successful as this. I sold right after I mined for what I thought was a great profit, thought it was very high at the time, and only going to go down. I was so wrong.

Congrats to the dev team and community of this coin.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=186785
Here is the link to my trust settings here on forum. This trust system is very unfair. I make good on every deal Ive ever made. I had many, many deals as you can see and I never scammed anyone. All it takes is a random account to give you negative trust and youre screwed. Tomatocage has never even talked to me ever but when the random acct hit me with negative trust, Tomatocage came right behind him and marked neg trust again so obviously he was the one who did it. You can look at Tomatocage trust and see how many of his compeditors at the currency exchange thread he labeled scammers. I never scammed anyone. My trust was green over 20 before this. I hope it never happens to you because the mods cant help you.

So I'd like to know who is flooding the sell orderbook on bittrex with 200 sell orders?  Seems like just one person, and they are slowing the price rise down considerably (which is not necessarily a bad thing, so I have my suspicions who it might be).  Just let it get to 0.01 and then you can slow it down Smiley

As I'm reviewing the thread I see several mentions of features that are not in the github wallet and I'm left wondering what I've done wrong.

It takes 8 hours for you to be holding the coins for them to become mature (at LEAST 8 hours).  You have to unlock your wallet though or that will not happen.  You have already encrypted it so all you have to do is click settings and click unlock wallet and put your password in.  You will see a little box there that should already be checked that says For Staking Only.  Sometimes **after you unlock your wallet it will take several seconds to show that it is unlocked** but you can either hover your mouse over the icons at the bottom right or just wait a few and the little circle will turn GREEN.  You have to leave it opened a lot to get the wanted results.

Make sure you enable the "display coin control" option in preferences

I have neither of these options in the linux wallet.  I know what I should be looking for since I've seen the clock feature in other POS wallets.  What am I missing?

I am not sure exactly, but it is like a gift card that works in ATM, so no need for personal info, but still works like a normal debit card. I am sure these do not exist in USA or western europe

Now it wont work in 100% of ATM, so we will need to get user test results in the major country's various ATM networks. I know in Ukraine, there are half a dozen different ATM networks with not always interoperability

James

P.S. I do not mean to imply that the cryptocard is issued from ukraine! The exact country is still a secret, but it is from stable country
