I hope so, because seeing the people involved, they are always into the hype coins promising to change the future forever. The only thing that worries me is: why do they care more about extreacting BITCOINS from it? Why isn't an option to buy keycoin with USD on every exhange instead? You know, there is not enough bitcoins in the world to cash out all the alts in the world.

Looking at the past archives, pr0m3theus2013 promoted his own pump club for "1 BTC membership", telling people how much they are going to miss out on it. Then it was CINNI that was oh so hot and valuable for him. Then something else and so on. How it is this. What should make me believe that this is his love forever?

But more interesting things were found in the archive, now he is protected by koolio and even threatens people, while koolio covers the tracks of his protectionism.

pr0m3theus2013: Coinaction, lol scam coins? I am the lead project manager on KEY if thats what you are asking. It's not scam either, it has the most powerful and non traceable anon as of today
Coinaction: pr0m3theus2013, so then the question is easy! Are you already rich with your scamcoins?
pr0m3theus2013: Coinaction, They are not scam coins. Nice loaded question though, you'd make a great political plant at a town hall meeting or something lol
pr0m3theus2013: Dark isn't anything to do with me either so don't attribute that instamined nightmare on me.
Coinaction: you can hoax the newbies here but not me, lol
pr0m3theus2013: Coinaction, you're just an ignorant fool man, I came here ant talked about key when it was 4k satoshi
pr0m3theus2013: It hit a high of 360, and it's currently trading at 230..

Coinaction: Relax, man.Live with the truth. You will still earn money with newbies
pr0m3theus2013: Coinaction, You keep implying falsehoods about me and attacking my personal character.
pr0m3theus2013: Coinaction, go read the keycoin ann or something, it's actually incredibly powerful and was even endorsed by Dan Metcalf, the creater of XC
Coinaction: Don't take it personally!

pr0m3theus2013: Coinaction, Don't make personal attacks that are bullshit.
hablamanos: pr0m3theus2013, and when you tweak the anon feature to be ever so slightly better you will integrate it into a different coin to pump it up
pr0m3theus2013: hablamanos, oh you must have a crystal ball.
hablamanos: "but its the best anon coin"...

*21:19:08    system    Coinaction was banned for 10000 min by koolio
* This message was deleted by koolio SO FAST that it did not appear on trollboxarchive, it did not appear on penek chat archive, it only appeared on dcaz, because dcaz has the lowest network latency to btc-e.
* This means one thing: koolio has some script by which he can issue a ban and then delete the message that he banned someone. This is some heavy ass militant modding, koolio!

What's there to say about the mods? They used their trust to mislead people, and in the process harmed btc-e itself. I am just surprised they are mods still..
No new info by them on my side. I don't communicate with those rats anyway

I already said it several times in chat. This is nothing new. Most know what happened with coins like DRK or that other scam coin i forgot the name of, which lost a lot of people their money.

People are wondering themselves why the mods are mods still. But it's not really worth starting a war over that. Either use btc-e or don't. I never fell for the mod pump and dumps anyway. When you see them advertising a coin, it's already too late. It's the phase where they are trying to dump their stashes. In the most recent case however, they might have failed as some rat dumped their stash earlier than they agreed upon..

Can you verify your calculations?

Of course.

Look at block 4500 on the block explorer. (The last Proof Of Work block)

Outstanding coins = 913,277.500272311

Deduct the Outstanding Coins value above from that of the current block. Using block 21588 at the time I type this:

Outstanding coins = 913,595.438148831

913,595.438148831 - 913,277.500272311 = 317.93787652

Block 4500 was created at 4:19 am (GMT) on 18th July that's currently ~2 hours short of 16 days.

317.93787652 / 16 = 19.8711172825

Quote
20% interests per annum is not equivalent to 316 coins in 16 or 17 days (I assumed daily compounding of interests).

You're also assuming everyone is staking. Bittrex holds ~47% of all coins and most of their wallet addresses seem to be flagged as belonging to them. I don't think I've ever seen one of those flagged addresses staking.

The amount of the coins that are generated by staking at each block doesn't (directly) depend on the number of addresses that are staking.

Function GetProofOfStakeReward depends on the coin age (probably age of the coins in the user's wallet) and doesn't depend on the total number of coins (or addresses) that are staking.

The last published binaries (compiled by the devs) weren't compiled from the source code at

https://bitbucket.org/keycoin/keycoin/

and so they may contain some undisclosed changes compared to bitbucket source code (but it is probably unlikely that these undisclosed changes are related to PoS).

Is something wrong with the keycoin blockchain and/or client?

Blockchain explorer shows that almost all of the last several hundreds of blocks contain only one transaction (+coinbase).

This transaction has the same input and output addresses (somebody is sending coins back to himself, could this be related to PoS?). There are almost no normal transactions.

Can someone answer this post? Why there are almost no normal transactions in the blockchain? Only Bagpipe has given reasonable explanation (that enormous amounts of coins are owned by very small number of people who obviously have no need to do transactions). But his answer doesn't explain why number of transactions was much higher before (the people in this small group probably owned enormous amounts of coins from the beginning).

I've already answered your question. If there are no other transactions then nobody is moving coins around. It doesn't mean anything is broken, blocks will continue to be generated regardless of whether people are moving coins or not.

Yes, I know that the lack of transactions in blocks doesn't necessarily mean that there is anything wrong from the technical standpoint.

But if there are no technical problems, then there may be some "human" problem. I've just checked latest blocks and they still don't have any normal transactions (just coinbase transaction + PoS transaction). Why people don't move at least some coins around?

And about 30% of the latest PoS "mined" blocks are mined just by one address (KCosuASuqafu4or4DphdiCX5qQEr53kHyb):

Hey Guys, I love that video! I'm just ignoring the fudders for now because it is taken our time. We will keep making continuos progress as we have done. Yes, I traded DRK, CINNI and other coins. I grew sick of putting my faith in to coins that appeared imminent on day one only to have their devs vanish soon after and decided to manage and fund my own project. So far were doing better than anything I have seen in the alts for a long long time. Thanks for the continued support!

It depends on individual transactions (and their value) and the coin age. If someone is staking then a minimum cycle is 8 hours so someone could lets say deposit 1000 into their wallet and approximately 8 hours later:

They get 0.01 interest (this is purely an example value to simplify this explanation) and such get returned 2 new transactions. One of which is for 500, the other for 500.01.

Approximately 8 hours later:

The previous transaction for 500 splits and returns one transaction for 250, one transaction for 250.005

The previous transaction for 500.01 splits and returns one transaction for 250, one transaction for 250.0125

At this stage, one initial deposit has become 4 transactions and this process keeps repeating at approximately 8 hour intervals if a wallet is left open for staking. On the next cycle there are 8 transactions, then 16, then 32, then 64. etc.

What exactly don't you grasp about this concept?

Quote

https://bitbucket.org/keycoin/keycoin/

and so they may contain some undisclosed changes compared to bitbucket source code (but it is probably unlikely that these undisclosed changes are related to PoS).

I'm not a developer so I can only come to the conclusion that the withheld code is related to the anonymity functionality as they don't want their full code being copied by copy and paste devs.

I've been staking since before the anonymity functionality was added and the values staked now are consistent with the values staked previously.

A huge proportion of the coins are at Bittrex as has already been highlighted by one of my previous posts. People just like to keep coins there for trading I guess. What do you propose? Maybe Bittrex should force them to withdraw to their own wallet just to satisfy your need to see transactions moving?

NOTE: I personally think it's a bad thing that so many coins are on Bittrex. People obviously learned nothing from the VRC/Mintpal debacle. They should really keep their coins in their own wallet until such times as they want to trade them.

And about 30% of the latest PoS "mined" blocks are mined just by one address (KCosuASuqafu4or4DphdiCX5qQEr53kHyb):

http://chainz.cryptoid.info/key/address.dws?KCosuASuqafu4or4DphdiCX5qQEr53kHyb.htm

See my example at the top. If stakers don't clean house every now and then by reconstituting all those transactions into larger values then they can end up staking very often. They will only be creating very tiny fractions of new coin as the amount you receive is proportional to the amount of the transaction being staked. There is however the bonus that they may catch some fees at regular intervals if they stake often.
