You will see some guys drop 100 000 on one single bet. { I think, it's the max you can go }

I have watched some guys, winning huge amounts on a single bet, but you have to have huge balls and big pockets.

It's nice, to see the progress of other players........ {Good feature} and very transparent.

Yup, the max bet (per user) is 100000 bits = 0.1 btc and the max win (all users combined) is 2000000 bits = 2 BTC.

You Math... ? {Multiple bot strategy}

Saw him play, over a period of a few hours, and he made a killing. If you lucky and you stuck to it, you can make a few bucks...  Wink

12 BTC for 8 hours work, is more than the average yearly income for most people in Asia/Africa. {That is how huge, winnings like that is}

Hope you paying some forward to charities.  Wink

I still never got a chance to try this game.  I remember reading the rules and feeling confused and then there was this weird thing about bits vs bitcoin which confused me further...
1 bit is 100 Satoshi's. It's a unit of measurement just like mBTC. The game itself is relatively easy, get out before the game crashes. Grin

I'm pretty sure 1 bit is a unit of information,  not a unit of bitcoin.  But I already admitted confusion over this. Wink

Max bet has been increased to allowing 1 BTC bets, and max win increased to 3% of the bankroll (which is currently 3.12 BTC).

Good luck everyone!

why they use bits?

It is the only place I know that actively uses the term bits as a unit of measurement.

why not bet 1 btc and cashout at 1.1x Tongue

if you win 10x then its 1 btc lol

but still it can crash before 1.1x  Roll Eyes

we need to have big balls and big bankroll lol

It is a unit as proven here. I don't like the term, but well, I don't like mBTC either. I prefer BTC and I find it annoying if sites don't let me choose what unit I want to use.

Ryan, did you silently increase the max bet size to 1 BTC? That's pretty lame. Somebody (https://www.moneypot.com/user/sinefreq?p=467) lost at least 1 BTC a few hours ago because he assumed that his bot would stop at < 100K bits\0.1 BTC when shit hit the fan, so he didn't add stop loss to his bot's code.

Post the fucking notice on your website when you make a major change to the mechanics of the game. Jeez.

EDIT: Fixed the link.

How did you conclude from his stats that the max bet size has been increased to 1BTC? The highest I can see is 29193 bits which is 0.029193BTC. Please link me to the game where this happened.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I found the game and sinefreq lost 194038 bits which is 0.194038BTC. He shouldn't even be able to bet that much if the max bet is 0.1BTC.

sinefreq has lost 260,011 bits in game 1014186. https://www.moneypot.com/game/1014186
It is not clear what the max bet is, but it is definitely not 100000 bits.

I just updated my post as well and it seems that the max bet has been increased yes.

The FAQ confirms that the max bet is 1BTC. Not sure when this changed.

According to this user it was 0.1BTC yesterday:
Yup, the max bet (per user) is 100000 bits = 0.1 btc and the max win (all users combined) is 2000000 bits = 2 BTC.
https://www.moneypot.com/faq#high

I also just found that Ryan has posted a notice on here:
Max bet has been increased to allowing 1 BTC bets, and max win increased to 3% of the bankroll (which is currently 3.12 BTC).

Good luck everyone!
So it was announced, however, it would have been smart to post a notice on the website as well, seeing that people do use bots.

wow 3% of the bankroll is kind of high don't you think? I would say allowing that large of bets is going to cause a lot of variance in your bankroll/profits and someone with even a little good luck is going to be able to wipe out a good portion of your bankroll

It was not a silent update, it had been announced multiple times on the chat; however, your premise is right. I should have done a better job making sure no one got burnt by this.

So here's what I'll do. Firstly, I'll refund the losing bets that were than or 0.1 BTC which are:

108063, 144804, 194038 and 260011 -- for a total of 0.706916 BTC

Secondly, I'll add a max-bet field to the strategy editor so people stop implicitly relying on the site limits:

https://github.com/moneypot/webserver/issues/130

And thirdly, in the future any update of the sort, I'll make sure to version it along with a notice so people are aware of what changed, rather than needing to check the chat.
