Why don't we do all spreadcoin communication on the official website?
We should all register over the spreadcoin website and conduct all business over there.

Redundancy helped us (and Mr. Spread) yesterday very well. It is good to have things twice, so when one thing breaks or is unavailable you can still post and read.
BCT has had many outages lately too, which motivated me even more to create our own forum.

Certainly.  I'm all for the majority of the conversation taking place on Spreadcointalk but letting this thread die would be a mistake in my opinion.

We should post atleast as much here as in our own forum. It is important to keep a steady conversation going on here, and update it with everything relevant that is happening in spreadonia.

testnet has already 180 MNs running, 160 of which are "elected". (which means they have passed the test of voting and will recieve payment soon)

Not bad for not even 24 hours of testing. Let's keep testing a few more days, and we will scratch the 1000 MN mark for sure.

Whoever wants to help us with testing, join us at:

I agree BCT is important for exposure.

Masternode payment starts only when 300 elected MNs

Quote from: Mr. Spread link= topic=938222.msg10280614#

Masternode payments will only start when there are 300 elected masternodes. We may need to lower this number for testnet because we may actually not reach that much.

You are right, but this is just test version related, we are not sure yet how this will look like in the main version that will come out soon.

I wonder how much it will be for each SPR Masternode ?

100SPR doesn't seem like much in the MN testnet version, if it does end up being 100 then everyone can have a MN pretty much lol

There will be a very interesting dynamic.

1000 MNs of 100 SPR will lock 100,000 SPR into masternodes, that's about 6% of the available coinsupply.

Now if only 10 MN owners decide to put 10,000 SPR into their masternoe, there will be about 200,000 SPR locked in masternodes, already taking 12% of the available coins.

Now, what happens if we have 1000 MNs of 100 SPR, and a new comer comes along and decides to install a MN for 101 SPR?
Well, one of the previous MN will have to be dropped, and all the other 999 MNs will say... hm... I could be the next one... my MN is very insecure... newcomers can just invest 1 SPR more and kick me out sooner or later?Huh

So people will start adding SPR to their MN to better secure it.

Where will this end?

That's the funny thing about a free market, nobody knows yet... but it will be discovered.
It will probably also change over time, and have its own dynamic and cycles etc...

I expect initially we'll see some pretty comical stuff going on in regards to the number of SPR people load onto their nodes. It will be like watching a Harlem shake video; everybody very still, then everyone moving suddenly in radically different directions. Might even get some wave motions going with lots of MNs increasing their SPR count suddenly as others are decreasing with the gyrations settling down for a bit then starting up all over again.

HAHAHA. I like the harlem shake analogy....

That's why I am looking forward to get a daemon only version for masternodes soon, so I can read out the MN list every minute, save the data in a database and create "funky" graphs and visualisations.
This will be as much fun to watch as the SPR price itself.

EDIT: yes the testnet version comes with a daemon, but there is no command to read out the MN list in JSON format yet.

Also please for caution's sake remove your address in your post.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

Yeah. It can take a bit...

I started one masternode yesterday evening and another at around 3AM. Neither was elected when I went to bed soon after. This morning when I woke up, the first was elected (Yippee!) and as of right now, the second one is still unelected and accumulating votes...  Cheesy

I was simply pointing out the fact that you have an exclamation mark all by itself, which makes me think english is your second language.

How am I being racist?

So you didn't know that anyone can use SMF?
