-snip-

Master Nodes can do so many things. They are an endless pit of opportunities.

I like:

* Being able to predict the future outcome of things influenced by human behaviour.  Crowdsourcing the likely outcome of an event would give SPR investors an edge over decision making they can invest / gamble against.

* I have a pet like for sourcing magnet links for torrents.

* Using Master Nodes to lock in and hold one to one, or one to many, or many to one bets, would be great.

* There is no reason why openbazaar couldn't run on Master Nodes. Might need Darksend to do that.

A while back I suggested Master Nodes could be used to generate predictions of outcomes based on wisdom of the crowd.

Today, some bastard announces that they are going to do that. And. They are going to raise funds through a crowd sale:

http://www.augur.net/
http://www.coindesk.com/augur-future-blockchain-prediction-market/

So, I think there are a few things we can do with Master Nodes. Maybe we need to keep them quiet for a bit until we agree what to focus on?

By this logic we should all estimate the price in... July? Maybe make a pole. I am on my mobile now.

I'm going to call all my master nodes 'Joshua' after the AI computer in War Games.

Joshua 1, 2, etc.

There is a reason for this. I'll keep it under wraps for a bit until I flesh out the details a little more.

But its going to be big. Like huge, big  Grin

I plan to name my masternodes after banks and other financial institutions. e.g. Wells Fargo, as I foresee this being ultimately a profitable endeavor

We should make it so that everyone can see the name of your masternode!

That would be cool.

So has the community just written off Mr. Spread then? Like no one has a single clue where he went?

No option but to do exactly that if the community wants to move on.

I went through his posts, picking out mentions of the specific changes he'd made and other references to his technical intentions. At one point he writes “I have to go to work” which implies he has an employer. It's possible that this employer became aware of the Spreadcoin development activity and they gave him a choice, walk away from it or else. By far and away, he's not the first dev to go AWOL and at least he seems to have genuinely gone completely, there are other altcoins where the sole dev has simply lost interest and switched allegiance to a different coin.

Cheers

There is already a return bounty for him (around SPR 60K+ if I understand it correctly) in case he returns so I don't think anybody has written him off, it's just that he didn't continue the testing phase (it was almost completed) and has left no messages for the SPR community as to what happened to him or why he stopped the development...

Thank you. Yes, If only I had more time, I would put 100% of my time into this.

But stay tuned, we are getting closer and closer.

Exactly, we can hope for the best (that Mr. Spread returns) but we must prepare for the worst.

Can Master Nodes be used to validate and execute payments using an email address?

Like>

Allocate funds from your wallet to a float.

Link an email address to your wallet and also 2FA and or a password

When making a payment on a website, the email address and password / 2FA can instruct Master Nodes to validate the payment from the float which link back to your private keys.

Or something like that.

spreadcoin.net seems to be down, at least for me.

Is it possible to let masternodes act as an escrow service?  Maybe that's already been suggested, or they can already do that.  I don't even known if that's technically feasible, maybe someone smart can figure that out.

For me too.

Looks like Mr. Spread is gone for good.

Also, the domain will expire on 21 july 2015.
Should it be renewed we will know that Mr.Spread is still out there (and still cares, lol)
Should it not, we should try and register the domain once it is available.

That's a good idea, we could consider taking it out of the development budget.

Not to throw a wrench in the subject but since we are looking at picking up the pieces and starting from scratch maybe we should consider a name change to?  So we don't have to deal with the fact of the Dev leaving and the trollsters fud.  Maybe a rebirth of the coin with a new look, new name, and new devs?  Just wondering?
