I don't see how that fixes anything, because it looked like it was allowing access to accounts without validating the session/auth cookie on the server side. Agreed. It should've involved more than just session-timeouts. Changing IP should've broken the trust-chain as well as a number of other factors.  Transferring ownership should've reset "all" session-cookies ...

Best practices -- they're all out there, but greed prevents the necessary on-going research.

If you look at erics linkedin profile he has the chops to handle what they are doing. My bet is they are growing too fast and attempting to do too much at once. It also doesn't help that people are buying tons of hashlets and probably leaving them as singles which adds to the db and increases the time needed to process payouts.

Sounds contradictory. How did they get into this mess if he has the "chops" ?  Overnight account-system changes aren't SOP for "chops" either.

Also, if he had the "chops", he would've known how to build a scaling system from the start, or at least catch it before it got this bad.

well about the smartest thing they did do was require 2FA auth for withdrawl no matter what so the worst they could do is sell all my hashlets, unless there is a bypass for the 2FA auth. then ya would be screwed

Had 3 BTC before but chickened out with an overload of FUD here and pulled it. I've got 4 BTC in it now and fingers crossed they don't drop dead just yet. Thinking about collecting the next Genesis hashlet and then taking it out again. Have considered waiting for a PrimeHashlet but that's just too long of a wait for me atm.

A better idea would be to deposit 100 million BTC. If my math is correct this would double the BTC network hashrate and would open certain interesting possibilities.

best advice, only stick in what your willing to write off...not saying anything good or bad...it just covers your butt either way i had 1btc in there, then chickened out as well...now i put 2btc in there and said screw it let it ride

In this bear market GAW could make a few % per day shorting.

Actually I pulled my USD out of Bitfinex until this settles down a bit, call me paranoid but those rates are just too crazy

Everyone seems to be convinced that BTC can only go up from here. Which is likely true but not something I'd bet a lot of money on.

As for GAW shorting BTC or otherwise betting on BTC exchange rate, this is not a very sustainable source of income, is it? They might as well try their luck on PD and make us all rich.
