Well well I spoke to soon, sorry guys I dumped what I had left I just can't continue with all the uncertainty, I held all the way through the last delisting notice but this time it's to much. Good luck to Dev and the project.

Sorry to see you go. Thank you for the wish of luck!

To anyone else considering dumping in sight of the delisting warning from Bittrex, please be reminded that Bill did previously inform me that even if delisting did occur, it would by no means prevent Sterlingcoin from regaining listing. Of course, no one would be glad to see any delisting happen but, that said, Bittrex is not the end-all of cryptocurrency and certainly would not be an end-all for Sterlingcoin.

On a better note, I do have a personal friend that is going to Machester for Coin Fest UK 2017 next month. While I have no merchandising to mail and be distributed, they did agree to talk to people about Sterlingcoin there and hand out some paper wallets and pamphlets I will be printing. Sterlingcoin will at minimal have a presence during the 2-day event.

I think is important to be listed in Bittrex

Do you guys think having a roadmap for the next months will help the coin move forward faster and the community to know what is being done?

It is clearly better to be on Bittrex than not, but personally, I agree with Steven; removal from TREX is not going to limit SLG's advance.

Cryptopia can function perfectly well as SLG's primary market pending a rise in volume and public interest, which shall surely follow in the wake of future developments.

It's good to know that development is ongoing (thanks for the update Steven!) with both SLG and CWI, but there really is a pressing need for a total rebase.  Hopefully that can be done sometime during the course of 2017.

In response to the question, my answer would be 'yes', a roadmap would be invaluable at this time.  Hopefully Steven can devote some time to that now that he is liberated from other tasks.

Planning to get my first Raspberry pie to play with. Does someone successfully stake SLG on such a nice hardware?

Maybe I should code a Tipping bot, instead of these well-known DDos bots. I would tip your Wallets until these were overloaded.

Using Win 10 right now.

I haven't fired up my wallet since october... Did it for some hours ago, but the sync stops at 60549 blocks, using 1.5.1.1. Is there a bootstrap I can use?

Hi oneoff,

I can do one better than a bootstrap, a linear bootstrap: http://sterlingcoin.org/sterlingcoin-682683-bootstrap.dat (336 MB)

It is about 18k blocks behind the current height of 701035 and is just over a month old, but should get you up-to-speed quicker and, being linear, contains no orphans.

I hope that helps!

Planning to get my first Raspberry pie to play with. Does someone successfully stake SLG on such a nice hardware?

I have successfully staked Sterlingcoin on a solar powered C.H.I.P. by Next Thing Co. These 9$ computers are much better suited for my solar application as they draw less and have WiFi and battery monitoring built-in. I am working on a solar staker for EverGreenCoin and added SLG to my personal setup, just for my own enjoyment.

The biggest 'hurdle' I faced was the C.H.I.P.'s 512 MB of RAM. To compile, I had to mount a USB drive and use that for swap space, as swapping on the NAND memory is not wise. After I got it compiled, I did not need the additional swap for more memory, but did store the blockchain on that same external USB storage.

I can upload and post a link to the compiled SLG wallet later if that will help, as I have the setup down because I am re-wiring some solar panels. The C.H.I.P. is a Debian OS, I am not sure if it will be portable to your Pi but we can try. Perhaps I can get the daemon compiled statically for this purpose.

A roadmap will be organised and made just as soon as possible. I will do my best to have all the objectives and milestones organised into an obtainable timeframe this week if even a working draft that milestones may be added to.

CryptoCanary, if you can post link to the compiled SLG wallet that would definetly help
if you can get the daemon compiled statically, much better

SterlingCoin,
roadmap doesnt need to be very precise, but to have some deathlines to know where we are going and when we are supposed to get there, because time flies without noticing it

Sterlingcoind is staking perfectly well on an OrangePI (quad-core SBC pretty similar to Raspberri) Smiley
1Gb of RAM is perfectly enough to stake two or three different coins with medium sized blockchains.

As already noted, compilation will require more than 1Gb, so swapping would be needed. But... with Linux its always better to compile yourself, instead of using pre-compiled stuff. Saves a lot of headache (library/system/instructionset incompatibility etc).

The biggest issue is the NAND/MMC memory reliability. I am running from SD card, and I have killed a couple before realizing I would better keep the blockchain and wallet.dat on an external USB drive (could be either HDD or SDD; SSD preferred due to power usage reasons only) or keep it on a server and mount that dir via NFS.
However I have listened about people successfully running some coins while keeping the blockchain on SD card. If you do that, use Sandisk cards exclusively - that's important, as those proved to be the only brand of SD cards which might withstand such kind of heavy usage (many smallish write operations would kill any other card quickly).

SLG will most likely be delisted from bittrex in a couple of days, right? What's the price for listing it back again?

Thanks for the boot strap, but it didn't solve my problem. The wallet continues to stop syncing at the same spot, right now at app. 6487 remaining blocks. I have tried to remove everything in the Dat-folder, tried -rescan, added some nodes I found in this thread, all this without any success. Do you have any further ideas what I can do?

It seems like I'll put the Raspberry Pi plans on the shelf. Found out that I'll probably have access to a VPS. Do I have to send all coins to the wallet I may install on the VPS. Or can I use privkey, in similar way as hos Dash masternodes work. Where the coins remain in my " wallet" on a separate computer, while VPS runs the staking/node-function. Hope you understand what I'm looking for

It does appear at this time delisting is imminent. Bittrex does not accept payment for listing.

In previous discussions with Bill of Bittrex, he told me that they do evaluate delisted projects for relisting about once per quarter.

This odd, oneoff. Perhaps try adding "staking=0" to the config file while you sync to current height. Going by what you have said here and previously, your coins must have much weight by this time. The internal functions of staking your coins might be hindering the sync. Just an idea of something worth a try.

I would suggest actually sending the coins to your new wallet. While going the privkey method will work, all coins might not be accounted for in the new wallet, leaving you to "repairwallet", -rescan, or completely resync to find them all in your balance. Sending them will remove this variable.

If you intend to run two copies of the same wallet.dat file, make sure one stays not staking with the "staking=0" in the config file. If you do not, one of the wallets will become corrupted if they both are trying to stake the same coins, a condition that will undoubtedly arise. If I am understanding what you are intending correctly, leave the "staking=0" flag in the config file of your "spending" wallet. Your staking wallet will see these "spending" transactions broadcasted and act accordingly.

I hope this info is helpful!

If you mean so called "cold wallet" method of running masternode, then no, you cannot use that.

SterlingCoin does not have masternode support, it has only regular staking function.
Masternodes can work while coins are sitting in separate "cold" wallet, but with staking this does not work  - you have to have the coins in the wallet which stakes. And that is the case for any staking coin, not only SterlingCoin.

Finnally I'm up and running. Had to install a new wallet and let it sync empty, before replacing the wallet.
Sad that there is no buy support at Bittrex, but it seems natuarlly due to the fact that there haven't been any progresss or publicity lately. Though I believe that Sterlingcoin is still a solid project. Just look what the original core developers have been up to lately. Smiley

I have got access to the VPS and will shortly try to install a wallet and support the network as soon as possible. This is my first try out with Linux so first up is to configure firewall, secure connection and so on. It's going to be interesing.
