alt-coins have even much less of a "value" than btc. the only strategy for alt-coins is: stay in it, when 98% have given up. then next pump will come, and you can get rid of yours for better price.
People buy some worthless alt-coin, then set up a sell-order for it, hoping for a pump. But those who pump coins at random pick coins with only very few sell-orders on it, so that they get big green for little money, so it's a deadlock until people give up, cancel their sell-orders and sell for lower. once the sell-orders are rare, the next pump is due.

DAC ... the DAC coins 2015 is the year we realize oh BTC, LTC ... those are liquidity coins everything else is stock in a company coin
XPY is gonna have a tough year unless the show about 10M in revenues SEX that baby might turn around and start getting with the program same goes for any straight forward BRAND coin with a fair network here some NET, GROW, POT, NAME(as in sell domain names), OPEN, BET, GAME, VDO, TALK, GOLD, LOTTO, LEAF, WATER, CLOAK, ANON, SMART, CLEARINGHOUSE xch, KARMA, MCW, FIND, LIBERTY, ASIA, BLUE, RED, WHITE, Emerald, Diamond, OPAL, even JUNK.
They just need small communities to pull off organizing into a DAC ...not the next btc... it will be a year for slower returns but building up big ideas ... the hyper year of 2014 is over.
We have lots of cool new ideas about apps and features ... someone will create a working BAY, plus a crypto version of TPB, plus a crypto version of Skype. But more importantly Alts will become working productive companies creating value (products/service). DOGe could kill it if they get this idea.

I like SJCX. It is most stable in Alt-coins. Reasons: Beginning on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 8:00 AM (EST), Storj began releasing Storjcoin X (SJCX). This token will serve as a means of exchange for cloud storage space and bandwidth across the Storj network. Users will obtain SJCX by renting out their resources to the network via DriveMiner when it is released in the near future, and they’ll be able to rent space from other users using Metadisk. Participants in the crowdsale, which went live at the same time, will also receive SJCX according to how much they contribute. Total supply: 500,000,000 coins Protocol: Issued on top of Counterparty (XCP) Crowdsale Page: http://storj.io/crowdsale.htmlStorj Explained in 60 Secondshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vl3bUzfn2lgWhy Storjcoin X?We love Bitcoin; we only created Storjcoin X because we had to. We are working on implementing features like sending data to an address, key-resource, etc., and it is not possible to implement these features on Bitcoin because of the metadata size limits. By using Storjcoin X we have some flexibility in terms of implementation. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, we plan to reintegrate with Bitcoin should treechains or sidechains become viable via a hard fork, but we are simply are not going to wait for it. Crowdfunding Sales - 70% Community Pool - 15% Developer Pool - 15% Community PoolStorj believes that that the devs should not rule the coin. After all, that's not decentralization, is it? We are trying something completely new by issuing a community pool equal to the developer pool. Any BTC in the community pool will be managed with Bitpay’s multi-signature Copay wallet. We will have to build a multi-signature wallet for SJCX. Funds will be managed by trusted community members who will listen to and act upon community proposals. This will be the first coin that allows the community to have equal power to the developers. MiningUsers will not “mine” the coins in a traditional way. Instead, they will be compensated for providing their unused resources to the network via DriveMiner. This process will be simplified within the application. ~~MZ~~

Hi Muhammed. There's no list really, this whole thread is the list I guess but it's just the opinions of everyone for themselves. I do not want to be responsible for them

I like some of the non-mineables: NXT, XRP, ETH and XPC. And XRP especially lately because it caught me by surprise (1300 to 7000+ satoshi). I have some from way back when so that was nice to see. Even at $700M, XRP is considered a micro-cap within the theater of massive global payment systems. One of these payment systems could be worth $100B+ in less than 2 years. If something could go up 100X and you don't hold a hundred bucks worth, it's sort of a " fool me twice" situation like not holding bitcoin in 2012. I like GreenCoin (GRE), not just because it's my own thing (of course ) but it's not trying to be another "coin," per se, as compared to trying to be a carbon emission offset credit. An ability to privately value and trade carbon is something the world desperately needs, whether it's this coin idea that does it or eventually something else. It also represents a giant leap forward in adoption: a hook that gets 10-20% of the Western population using a coin tech as part of the their daily lives where bitcoin, etc are still looking for that elusive mass-adoption vehicle. If nothing else, GreenCoin is still totally unknown so it's super cheap.

DOGE is fucked, but if you had DOGE on May 12th 2014 then you have free CLAMS. Click the link in my signature for more details, but ya sell that DOGE. Shits toxic as hell.

Am a big fan of BurstCoin so my vote is going with Burst as it is totally different to may other coins out their that are a fork or some re birth or remake of another coin. Burst is hard drive mining prof of capacity and Burst is the only coin like it out of all the alt coins going.

Why? Because they are all waaaaay oversold. In some cases the coins include the latest tech & in others its just the fact they are well established coins that have always performed well in the past, &/or have great dev's/plans behind them.

Come to my house and let's talk about the future! prerequisite reading: http://cryptofresh.com/(bitcoin 2.0 for dummies aka: why BitShares still has a consistently higher market cap than NXT or XCP) Until the volume comes back: Ya, easy to go to coinmarketcap and see what bitcoin 2.0 options hold their value as bitcoin crashes (on low volume meaning that it will bounce back on low volume too (like a regular trading day's volume)).
This is a good experimental math test for those looking to diversify from bitcoin 1.0 tech into bitcoin 2.0 tech. It is what bank fiat specialists call a bank (crypto coin) stress test (to make the math lesson simpler for the wall st brokers who are scratching their heads looking for an entry point based on math to tell their bosses and get promoted to head of the Winklevoss crypto division). The Winklevii won't be 2015, it will be that bitcoin 2.0 guy.
