We actually suggest using the blockchain method, it's way faster ~10 minuters of loading time versus the hours of loading from bootstrap. https://github.com/shadowproject/blockchainPlace the contents of the zip file into your ShadowCoin folder and you'll be good to go What does your altfolio solutions produce? I'm interested in knowing more about that.. Thanks for sharing this mate. I have actually found out syncing of the blockchain slow, but now I am fully synced thanks to the blockchain.zip file. At first, I had some issues trying to import bootstrap.dat file, but then I tried the blockchain zip archive and everything worked like a charm. Exciting things are coming for SDC. I can already feel it. Amazing things are coming for sure, this is the single most undervalued coin out there! You guys are doing a great job! Love the new site, very professional!

Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

Second most copied coin, Bitcoin will probably remain number one!

Our community members have asked us to give short weekly updates so everyone can have an idea what we are up to and in which direction we are heading. So here we are again, with a small update and some new download links that everyone should install as soon as possible. There is a new phoenix wallet update with version number 1.4.0.2. It has some enhancements to the block organization which needed some fine tuning. Please make sure you have the latest client (1.4.0.2) installed before the hardfork on block 783000. DownloadsDownload links available on GitHub! https://github.com/shadowproject/shadow/releases/latest
ExchangesWe are in process of notifying the exchanges to make the transition as smooth as possible. Bittrex will most likely be the first exchange to be on the updated wallet but the rest will surely follow. Sofware developmentRynomster is now working full time on the decentralized market and is making great progress. The alpha release is right around the corner, we just need to finish up the last few issues. The new UI2 is getting its final touches and some additions by crz. Taking into account the upcoming mobile wallet, the new UI is built to work on every screen size. Community developmentAmpersand and code have started a Business Development Plan for our decentralized cryptocurrency-based market on Slack. Please feel free to join the conversation and contribute to the Slack channel #businesslounge More people are getting involved in the Shadow Project and others have shown an interest to join. Once the alpha version of the market has been released, we plan on contacting a cryptographer to review and test our code, maybe even become part of the project. The main website shadowproject.io and our blog were temporarily down because of server issues. They have been resolved and some additions have been made such as: 1. Updated roadmap on the website 2. Press articles from prominent journalists have their own image Side notes:It is a great honor that ShadowCash has been mentioned in Science Magazine and it feels good to see us getting the media attention we deserve. Science Magazine is probably one of the best and most recognized magazines in the world of science. We have much more planned so stay tuned for the next update. These updates will be on a more regular so everyone remains in the loop. Best Regards, The Shadow Team

Hey everyone! I've been away from the forums for a while but am excited to see how well shadow has been doing while I've been gone. I had some questions that would be great if someone knew the answer to.
Why are we trying to retrieve the funds given to Zeuner? Don't we want someone examining shadowsend? I read after the alpha market release there are plans to hire a cryptographer. Would he/she be looking at just the market code or shadowsend as well?
Also, I made an HD wallet (I know I'm late) and didn't put a passphrase in. I sent all my coins to it and made a backup of the HD wallet, not that it is really needed. I wanted the wallet password protected so I hit settings, encrypt wallet and it warned me that all old backups wouldn't be useful for security reasons. Is this true? Should I replace those backups? And either way my phrase always works correct?
It was really awesome seeing how well the devs handled the bug and I can't wait for all the great things still to come. Thanks for the help!

It seems that since sdc was mentioned in the science mag it has gained some exposure from people outside of these forums.

Zeuner has become unresponsive, but we do however have his contact details. We're assuming that he hasn't been checking his emails anymore, but we're looking into alternative ways to contact him. Yes we want someone to examine ShadowSend for sure, peer review is important. The market code makes use of ShadowChat, which could certainly make use a of a review. The cryptography behind ShadowChat is very sound, we're more looking into a code review of that part. ShadowSend uses different cryptographical methods (Ring Sigs, NIZKP) that are not used in ShadowChat, because of the wide range of methods it's not easy finding a cryptographer that's experienced with all of them.
Well, we helped you with this on Slack so going to skip this, but for the sake of the purpose I will repost the instructions of dasource. When you first load the new HD wallet it will create a new HD account for you and set it as default ... I.e. any new addresses generated will be from the default HD account (unique to you). However as this is pre-generated and not user friendly to remember I suggest you proceed to create a new account using a mnemonic sentence.
My suggestion for existing users is ...
** ALWAYS BACKUP WALLET.DAT FIRST **
STEP1
1. Save your wallet.dat and rename it. 2. Load the latest Shadow client 3. Create a new HD Wallet (Settings --> Key Management --> New Key) - give it a "Label". 4. Goto (Key Management --> Advanced Management) and make sure that your new account "Label" has a tick next to the default field. 5. The wallet will have generated two new addresses in your "Receive Tab" - "Label" Address and "Label" Stealth Address 6. Send some funds to one of these new addresses (from your old wallet)
.. now I would suggest you try a restore of this account to test it!
STEP2 1. Save your wallet.dat and rename it. 2. Load the Shadow client 3. Goto (Settings --> Key Management --> Restore) - complete steps 4. Goto Help --> Debug --> Console and type "scanforalltxns 600000" 5. You should see your transaction show up.
If all goes well, you have the correct mnemonic and can then go back to your old wallet and send all your funds to the new wallet. Your new HD wallet is setup and the mnemonic sentence + optional pass-code is all you need to access all new addresses.
It was really awesome seeing how well the devs handled the bug and I can't wait for all the great things still to come. Thanks for the help!
I think we handled this bug very well, if anything we've come out stronger You're welcome.

Single most undervalued crypto in the crypto sphere.
1. Dedicated, battle tested development team. 2. FUD'D into almost obscurity in 2015. 3. Upcoming semi monthly reports to build investor confidence. 4. Most important, the upcoming anon marketplace daily transaction potential. 5. Ignored and not pumped during this previous ETH liquidity cycle. 6. Insanely low coin count compared to potential marketplace volume. 7.POS for that sweet staking. 8. Pro for speculators, inflation could be a major issue which is a con if you buying to get products on the upcoming marketplace. 9. Really nice graphics team. Look at SYS wallet's marketplace. It's not appealing.
Good job sticking through 2014-15 guys really impressive!!
Can't wait for some screen shots of the marketplace GUI.

Thanks, this did the trick again for me. However I don't understand, it happens often that my client is suddenly a few hundred blocks behind, and doesn't catch up anymore. Is there an explanation for that? Aside from that Im really excited to see that things are finally coming together for SDC. The rise in price/marketcap was expected and deserved. I just hope that we can maintain this upward momentum atleast untill the release of the Market and other features. Keep it up, ill be holding strong!
