Oh, so you think that is the reason? I guess it's possible.

All it takes is one rich person investing a part of his wealth into Bitcoin.

That has apparently just happened at least to some extent if you look at what has been going on in Austria.

What is going on in austria?

This?

Also, not wanting to appear too cynical, but don't we all buy with the future point where we sell out(dump) in mind?

I'm seriously planning to spend them (already am, In fact, to a degree), not sell them. By the time I spend my last bitcoin, I'm certain there will be no USD around to dump it for.

Of course, should something devastatingly destructive happen to bitcoin, I will try to be the first to dump, but likely fail at that.

While this rally looks like its stabilizing, on Gox there's twice as much BTC bidded above 5USD (500000USD) then there was yesterday, and if all the sellers changed to market right now the complete volume would be exhausted without even driving the price below 5.  Comments?

When will you guys learn that there is absolutely no good, concrete reason to justify a price increase at this time?  Speculation is NOT a good reason.

Man, people love these two threads. And the Bitcoinica (non-) payout one. Price may catch up again, and the rally might continue. New week, new luck. Remember, the casino is open 24/7.

Just a hunch, but without shortselling I doubt a lot of posting will go on in the latter one ever again.
