i am quite optimistic about monero the design is great, many people use it and its a coin that is used in deepweb.
ethereum seems to be unstable (as a programm) and the other altcoins seems to be just bitcoin clones with empty promisings and no sence (trumpcoin,putincoin, potcoin and all this shit). monero put some quality and it has a rising tendency in price. dash is also a coin that seems to be a part of the good ones. but nobody use it. just as a speculation object. thats why i think dash is a step below of monero. it didnt make the step to be used. just like ether and all the other coins.

i also think for long term the amount of bitcoin users increase from time to time people will put their money in monero when they are unsure about the price development as a second investment for holding the money in unsafe times to still make some money. i believe in one year monero will be worth double or triple since the bitcoin price will also increase to maybe 1600 dollars.

- its a coin that is used in deepweb (alphabay)
- no shitcoin no crappy promisings
- stable software and great anonymity

kryptocoins are not at that far to replace fiat. the main part of kryptos are still anonymity in payments trust.
bitcoin is a kind of harbor for unsafe times + speculation object + buying and selling anonymous
monero fulfils the requirments to be a harbor for the harbor and thats all what people need.

I also topped up at .0122    Still somewhat apprehensive, knowing the BTC spike up usually pulls the rug out from XMR briefly.

The question is: Which strategy is demonstrably more successful? Amanda B Johnson is a paid PR employee who's job it is to project Dash in a certain light, which is a form of "truth processing" for the purposes of growing a community and encouraging investment. Fluffypony on the other hand, simply tells the truth at the obvious expense of investment evangelicalism. In fact, he specifically says "Don't invest in Monero. It's a risky project that is still in its infancy". Any criticism of Dash is simply an extension of his fearlessness of the truth, and the understanding that if a project is a scam then it should be called out as such. The irony is, that despite these approaches having been in existence for a few years now, the Dash community is now far far smaller than the Monero community. Dash was once considered the "go to" privacy-orientated coin, while Monero was a relatively smaller project. These days, Dash is lucky if it can get more than 15 subreddit users online at the same time, while Monero is averaging 50-60. The IRC stats reflect the same ratio, with Monero averaging around 300 users online which is on a parallel with Ethereum. Dash IRC stats on the other hand are still only averaging 80-100. So yeah, Monero's approach may well deviate from the text-book model of marketing, but the fact remains, it is demonstrably the more successful mechanism. In this cynical age, people have a far greater affinity for truth and for telling it how it is, while rejecting the finely polished aesthetics of marketing overkill. The proof is in the pudding. My only criticism of FP's video about Dash, is that it actually was targeting the wrong coin. He really should have focussed on ZCash, because the longer that the Monero vs Dash debate goes on, the easier it is for Zcash to quietly ride off into the sunset and steal the prize.

I think Monero could relatively easily rise 10 times against bitcoin in the coming few years or so.
When it comes to speculating 2017, it is unlikely it will be 0.10 btc this year but I see 0.02-0.03 more realistic towards the end of 2017.
In my opinion, the current price is a bargain. I am not saying it cannot go lower than this (sure it can) but the price at low 0.01's are considered of a bargain. Bear in mind, Aminorex told us 0.018 is cheap coins so what is the current price then?

I already doubled in price a few weeks ago.  I don't think you need to hold for a few years until it does it again.  But time will tell.  It is obviously very volatile.

I believe doubling/tripling in price is very low for the timespan of a few years. If monero is added on coinbase and ledger hardware wallet supports monero, the price will easily 2x/3x in price most likely as there won't be many reasons to not feel secure with monero

Jaxx only proved their incompetence. Saying we will do it in few weeks and few months latter saying we have it done we just need to wrap it for you.  And few weeks latter say that they will postpone it for infinity time show how not serious company are they and I would not advice anyone to use their applications and trust them your money.  They or lie or have no ideas what they are doing.

I hope it does this time. I remember when Monero went down to 0.0058 when BTC was on the rise, and then when it followed the same up-trend as BTC some time ago and then when it was just going down no matter what BTC did. I don't expect it either to follow BTC or not, short-term-wise I stopped expecting .

This is not true. Only recently has the XMR/BTC price rose along with the price of BTC/Fiat.

2015 is a perfect example of this. Much of the price rises have seen an XMR price fall in terms of BTC and sometimes in the price of fiat.

   Chaos!  It's almost as if none of the small fish have a clue!  Even whales are caught off-side occasionally.
   I think there will be a rising tide, and only shit anchored too tightly will sink.  Look at the wider world.  Immediate and short term fluctuations are not of great importance, IMO.  I've got a (small) speculative long open.  If it starts rising, I will add to it.  If it starts sinking, I will add to it.
