There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Over 100,000 XMR in half an hour. Short squeeze?

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Yep.  Looks like lots of cheap loan coins available again.

Well, it seems now we know the result of the ETF.

Or is the BTC seller is just a headless chicken running naked to nowhere?

What's gonna happen now that ETF declined?

I mean in theory, if BTC drops then the xmr/btc price would go up because to get the same USD amount would require more btc.

But if they are both dropping then that sucks.

Seems like we are holding that $13 or so point. But we will have to wait for everyone to hear the news.

Large margin positions now settled, climax is past, IMO.  Not to say there's no more excitement to come (this IS crypto).

Bitcoin will need to trade on its fundamentals again rather than than hype over the listing of this ETP. I have read the SEC rejection https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/batsbzx/2017/34-80206.pdf and it does make some very valid points, regarding the potential for manipulation of the XBT/USD exchange rate. This can to a significant extent be traced to the fact that the majority of the Bitcoin hashrate is behind the Great Firewall of China.

Edit: ... and China's CNY exchange controls.

About Bitcoin now nothing will happen before 15th March until National People's Congress finish.   Chinese exchanges needs to allow withdrawals to again start pushing price of BTC up.

Did anyone really think ETF would pass?

What a great shakeout! I wish I had had my buy set at .00999 agin but 0.01005925 was just fine. Good timing when I checked price today, just wish I had been able to get more.

Got absolutely Shellacked at the casino last few weeks so no play money left. Sad

If we want to bring Monero to the eyes of the investors with serious money it need to be introduced to them.
Everyone that feels like he want to contribute to this can do so by suggesting Monero to Your local bankers as an asset class in form of a fund.
Bitcoin is introduced as a digital gold bullion but also Monero can fit into the same role (despite the supply of Monero is infinite unlike the supply of gold/bitcoin).

Have you suggested monero to your local bankers?

If so, what was the response?

If not, why haven't you?

I send an email to local one, not yet answer. I do not hold my breath they will start one because I asked. However, there is such a thing as repetition. The more there are people asking the more likely something is going to happen.

How disappointing.

And here I thought you were serious.

Why send an email when you can visit your local bankers and speak with them directly....even if it is just the branch manager?

Because he he neither understands, nor truly believes in Monero, he is just a speculator who has made some money off it, but is pissed off it's not still appreciating at 2,500% a year.

Besides, if there was anyone worth talking to who was prepared to talk to him, would you really want him representing Monero?

His posts are peppered with 'let's pump' and 'illegal uses / darknet' and 'why are we not doing what D*** is?'

With friends like this....

It is very much indeed the case based on the track record of his posting style that I would not have much confidence in them being a good source to speak on monero to newcomers.

It is better to let people speak for themselves while giving them enough rope to either build a bridge or hang themselves.

In this case we know the outcome of this based on what was previously written.

Let's hope Monero will be pumped 2500 % a year - I will be very happy if they can pump it high but I doubt it will.
Perhaps you can go to your local banker and speak about Monero if you know how to do it better.  Wink I have nothing  against it by all means do it.  Grin

My posts are very truthful and if it hurts someone it means the person it hurts is a crook as he cannot stand the truth that the majority of the use cases of Monero is illegal stuff and currently Monero is for the pumpers and dumpers (go and watch the charts so you will figure out what I've meant).

How to do it better?

Please, you just said you sent an email. Hardly any comparison of sending an email vs dragging yourself down to your local bank to do exactly what you've suggested.

How should people take you seriously if you make claims and don't actually do it yourself to the best of your ability?

Sending an email isn't putting much effort into your own "great ideas"

Hence why I can see why kurious as well as myself have called you out on it.

You can say what you like, but if you really want to see Monero do well, it will be the community and fresh members of it that will make it happen.

A few things you continually say do not help.  Using the word pump as a positive term, as though there is a cartel of whales manipulating the price; this 'they' you mention, is just annoying and does no service to the spirit of a coin which is nothing like other coins, in terms of its ethos and the people that support it.

Saying the majority of use cases are for illegal activity (over and over) is pointless. Yes there is traction in the dark net markets, but that is because privacy is important there.  In the end it is something that matters to everyone to some extent, it just happens that the DNMs spotted it and are ahead of everyone else.   Monero traders and holders do not buy Monero because they are criminals and very few coins can boast any use case at all.

Saying anyone who is offended by your posts is 'a crook' goes too far.  I am not a crook, but I sure as hell am losing my patience with you.

Kindly think before you type because you routinely speak recklessly, look ignorant and do no good for a coin I know you hold and have done well from.

If you don't I will not ask nicely again and you will have made someone who tolerated you here into an enemy.

I really don't know why anyone would give TC any credibility at all.

Firstly, he has very little skin in the game.

Anyone who has been paying attention to the the words (and videos) he has made particularly back at the start would have realised he is just trying to accumulate more btc because he lost out on the 2013 bitcoin rally.

He has no interest in anonymity, politics, truth or morality. In fact, his posts three years ago were nothing other than poorly conceived fickle statements of trading intent that would have ordinarily been ignored were it not for the fatiguing frequency at which he posted.... making him nothing but a basic troll, like that other fuck with the duck avatar.

At some point in the past three years his simple child-like brain realised that he had greater conversational reception if he disguised his trollposts as seemingly neutral and pragmatic, as opposed to shouting "bwahahah I've just sold, Monero is going to 0.005" or "wakaka I've just bought, Monero is going to the moon".

The guy's a fucking moron. Have you even seen his video? It's like the elephant man just discovered how to use a calculator and is banging his oversized fingers on the keyboard to produce numbers on a screen.

Except TC most people here are smart...smart people look to facts. Most people "outside" are not smart...they are easily to be influenced.

Give Monero an eye catcher like a Amanda B. Johnson and the price will increase by that. There is a reason why we don't see fluffys in TV-Spots. Ridiculous but true. So if any handsome girl outside felt addressed, do it.

XMR will be the one coin profiting from the DASH bubble blasting. Have patience. On the other side I hope a lot of weak hands sell now XMR and buy DASH on the top. ETH is already very near ATH. BTC further price development is not easy to predict, XMR is still the cheapest coin with a real case use. Just watch the reddit user base growth in the last months. Wink It is pretty logical where the money from ETH and DASH will flow.

Speaking of trolls... he's back!

And... Are you kidding?Huh  I actually wasted time watching one of her recent videos and she has to be a f***ing MORON! That video was hacked together from dozens of takes... splice after splice in a single segment. That tells me she couldn't read her own phone number let alone truly understand what she's talking about.  She literally has to be a talking head with anything technical being spoon fed to her line by line.

When fluffy speaks you may not think he's as cute as her but, at least he knows what he's talking about!

Well you can make an outreach and make new people buying into Monero. This is free world - anyone can do it. You might even with good planning to make some extra income in doing so. I am supporting everybody who are outreaching there.
The energy you are wasting on trolling me can be better employed in preaching Monero to newbies. Simply do it.
All you are doing is just a waste of energy and time.
I will not quit speaking about the pumps and dumps because the price pumps and after that dumps.

Please bear in mind, you begun the attack to me. I did not start it. I am losing my patience to you so please do not make someone who tolerated you here into enemy.
