Now seeing that all anonymous cryptocurrencies begin to grow strongly. Due to the fact that Korea is a closed exchange. With China not all clear. America all ZEC scary. Looks like that anonymous cryptocurrencies will be in great demand. Monera, until the beginning of the year is still not much of races I think for those who haven't bought it the last opportunity to buy relatively cheap. I think over 1000 for Monaro will see by the spring

If you're right with your argument, anonymous coins will be more valuable in the near future since people don't want to be traced by the governments and banks. They will prefer coins like Monero.

SR3 is adding Monero as payment method this month or next. Together with other top# coins.
I'd imagine that the rest of the onion community will follow up sooner or later.

Due to the instability of prices, there is currently no currency that can be used for buying things, without the buyer feeling regret and remorse a few weeks later... Prices needs to be more stable and then the currencies can be used...

AFAIK Globee allows for fast conversion to fiat, so unless you are choosing to hodl, volatility shouldn't be a factor.

Does Korea wanna ban crypto completely or just regulate it? I imagine that a complete ban will affect crypto in general no?

They want what every government wants:  More control and more, always more, taxes from the slaves.  A complete ban would deliver the opposite of that, so IMO clearly NOT the intention.  A ban represents an instant and complete loss of control, and a complete cessation of any flow from any already compliant tax donkeys.  Not to mention looking incredibly stupid on the world stage.

It seems, that it was misinterpreted by media. They probably just want stricter KyC/AML regulations (Source)

When crypto gets used more, it is just more debated. Every Minister have own vision.  Prohibiting crypto in any country would be super stupid. Only thing achieved would be lower economic growth.   In countries where is low crypto awareness, there cant be talk of baning since there is no talk at all about it.

Their argument before was young people making too much money then turning to deal drugs. lol.

But surely if they buy a house and pay a builder and buy a car and all the rest the money is going into the local economy.

Who is cancelling that?

What's also interesting is how far up a crypto boom could move a nation if they are ahead of other lesser adopters. As the money ripples out from their users.

Countries that have any kind of foreign exchange controls will have  no choice but to ban or severely restrict crypto currency trading. This is what happened in China and now in South Korea. Iceland also has very strict rules. Foreign exchange controls are frowned upon by the WTO; however some countries find legal loopholes around this. Monero and Bitcoin have a way of exposing these legal games through otherwise unexplained arbitrage spreads as is currently the case in South Korea. I suggest that foreign exchange controls as opposed to taxation or controlling speculation as the real reason behind the South Korean government move; however I doubt very much that the South Korean government will admit this.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

Lol, you know thats not the point. They are the ones that print the money which in itself cannot hurt crypto directly, but when the futures get manipulated by them and all the sheep get fleeced by it they will not understand that it was not crypto that screwed them but the bankers. People are just plain stupid and he is actually correct, hell remember all the bullshit lies about bitcoin being hacked because of GOX?
