Mainly it depends of how all crypto sphere will move.  If we will have Bitcoin at $5000 at summer would be quite stupid to expect Monero at $1000.  There is high possibility 2018 will be new 2014. And in general that would be most natural and most healthy. Because if 2018 would be just another 2017, then 2019 would be definitely an ARMAGEDON.

I agree. So hodl is the way to go because I can’t see this as the end for Xmr. We serve a higher cause

So the million new accounts per day or whatever the exchanges are signing up...  Are they signing up to sell, or to buy the dip?  The reasons for crypto in the first place are stronger every day.  Too big of a pause in 2018 means 2019 goes VERTICAL.  Zoom Out.

I don't think there is much opportunities for growth for Monero(XMR) it is close to 400 dollars 6 billion market cap. If you think it can beat Ether go for it, but I personally will sell every XMR I have (which I dont )

Developers meting had one good and one bad news.   Good news is that MyMonero and Apple after 2 months of no news started moving again.  Bad news is that there is tiny chance we will see Bulletproofs in springs hardfork. There will be another developers meeting next Sunday about it.

Thats not even bad news, There is a thing called moving to fast. This just proves the professionalism is not being trumped by the hypers. This is constant pressure to push shit out and that can never come at the chance of compromise, one failure of security and it all goes to shit. Good things come to those who wait.

Even if we are in a down trend it shouldn't last for 2 years like it did back in 2014-2015, today BTC and cryptos in whole are now much bigger thing than 4 years ago. I think it won't take longer than 6 months before the new bull run starts and I feel comfortable holding XMR even if the big crash happens. The market looks overbought with crap coins, and monero is not one of those that get dumped to 10% of its ath in no time. Actually I do expect a decent amount of crypto wealth to be injected in XMR after the crap coins slaughter ends, so Monero should do fine vs BTC and for a crypto zealot like me that's more than enough, I really don't mind seeing BTC below 10000$ for a while if Monero settles around 0.03-0.04 BTC ...

Million accounts a day are just temporary. They are people that  chase profits. Since Bitcoin price doubled every month ofcourse they wanted to walk extra mile just to be part of it. They did not register because they saw a future in crypto.
Now that they will read story how someone took $100.000 loan a month ago to buy 5 Bitcoin. And today are worth only $60.000 I dont believe they will rush to the closest exchange to get bad service anymore.  This happened many times in past.  But yes this cycles are coming to an end. We will see only one or two more.

I think you've heard the expression, "What goes up must come down"
Take a look at MA20 over the last year or so.
Bitcoin got a little ahead of itself because hype.  Now it comes back down a little.  Then it goes up again.  Kapeesh?

As bitcoin goes through these ups and downs, it drags other coins like XMR with it.
You have to see past the fluctuations to the longer term.

Cryptocurrency adoption and support are climbing every day. I think we'll start to see more activism and other efforts to secure political support for cryptocurrency in 2018.

The Dec 2017 "bubble" was nothing compared to what we'll see play out over the next few years. The real cryptocurrency bubble will likely be the greatest bubble and wealth transfer of all time. Monero is well positioned to benefit.

I wouldn't be surprised to see BTC drop another $780 260.  That's not really even a blip.  "buying back in"  implies selling.  Something I'm working on, but haven't yet mastered.
