On March 14, Monero will welcome a new member to its step-family – MoneroV.
At the time of the fork, holders of Monero will receive free MoneroV tokens at a ratio of 1:10 – meaning that for every 1 Monero token someone owns, they will receive 10 MoneroV tokens.Among other differences, MoneroV has limited supply of coins while Monero’s coin supply is infinite, and MoneroV will implement new protocols that will solve the scaling problems facing Monero and other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

MONEROV is a SCAM!! . They are doing nothing to prevent the weakening of the network, censor and ban users on their reddit and their LIMITED supply is a joke because they have a 1:10 ratio and will only pass XMR in scarcity in sth like year 3000. Don't be greedy and fall for this.

ZEC's only chance for long term relevance is if they can massively improve its performance with Zk-Starks or something similar. That may not necessarily be a terrible speculative (I must admit I'm considering it so talk me out of it guys) play but it is a high risk proposition. Monero works right now.

Short term speculation in moderate amounts of ZEC would be within my own risk tolerances, if I found a comparative advantage. Not large speculations or long-term holding.

Fundamentally, I don't see any scenario in which there is a saturating adoption curve for ZEC  It is disqualified from DNMs by optional privacy.  Optional privacy is compromised privacy. The likelihood of TLA backdoors is high because of the SIGINT background of devs and public statements about backdooring it made by Wilcox and Greene (even ignoring the Bangkok incident).  The novelty and complexity of the crypto makes for higher vulnerability, ceteris paribus.  Finally, it is gradually choking itself to death even with little or no economic use; try supporting a DNM unicorn on ZEC, I dare you. Scalability problems will bring your business to a crawl, and the work-arounds compromise privacy even further. Although, frankly, I would be surprised if you stayed in business long enough to die from scaling.

No, too much risk for me.  If I wouldn't eat the dog food, why would I buy it? Anyhow, I have a cat already, which handles the mice quite well.

Well said. There definitely could be money to be made getting in before zk-starks and out after but when you sum it all up like that I feel like I would rather avoid the risk also. +Merit for that one.

Monero Airdrop makes Xmr very popular. The price increased. Was very simple to understand, but then I guess not everyone has basic reading comprehension.
And of course all of this is just crap talk no one here really knows the whys and hows of this crypto market.
At any rate will be interesting to see if a sell off happens before or after the airdrop. But All we saw Zcl and ETC airdrop. Don't wait until the airdrop. Quit it 3 or 5 days to airdrop.

I am still ready for a MoneroV person to paste some actual facts here.

What is the total supply of Monerov vs Monero today and into the future? a graph or some other representation.

I know the tail emission is not infinite, that's silly bs. But Monerov starts with practically infinite coins, whats the point then.

What is the premine being held by anonymous devs? Are any coins being hidden?

Without open source how can we know anything is secure?

Why ask to reuse Monero keys? if you had a solid idea you would use your own name.

Conclusion    moneroV = roger Ver

Conclusion can only be this is BS.

It follows pretty obvious from how mining works that you shouldn't be mining at all in place with high electricity costs (i.e. much of Europe) unless you are doing it with the understanding that you are losing money

Bitcoin private has better privacy technology and you have the option to send a private transaction or public. Plus it's built on bitcoins blockchain which has better written code from over 400 developers that worked on it.

Sorry just had to say, You are an Idiot. that us all. Smiley

Bar just keeps getting lower and lower.

Even that won't help them with the mining tax. Lol

Thanks for the information but you are a fool, you don't know anything about the onero ecosystem else you wont be shilling that scum coin here.
Check on github of Monero and you will find the organic engagement of developers there.

Monero has many competitors. Anonymous coins are becoming more popular day by day. But I'm sure that Monero will remain the leader among such coins.

How high will this go xmr/btc ?

Excluding Bithumb ATH was half year ago at 0.035. So if it breaks that can go really high. Monero March Madness will be here.

Interesting times.  Obvious question is how much of this is being driven by the hot air of the fork.  Then again Monero is a chronically undervalued crypto.

Looks like we may have topped out for a bit. Highest I saw on this run was 0.0305. Not too shabby. Still a chance we push higher

0.03288 at Poloniex.  That is a new high since the August ATH.   I'm somewhat surprised to see it hold above .03 still.  I thought we'd be a few weeks yet for that.

Still holding strong - almost to my dismay. Ready to add more below 0.03 but now I'm curious whether or not we will get there. May have to wait for this MoneroV fart to blow on past.

Soon there will be a fork at Monero and this should positively affect the price. It seems to me that the price will go up soon. This is a very good moment for short-term trading. But this coin is well suitable for long-term investment as well.

he Preev of Monero" is exactly what I've wanted for the longest time now. Just something quick n' simple when I need to reference to a fiat value.

As for the other planned features, as long as the main page has the same simple conversion fields, I'll be happy!

Potential bug: when I try and click your donation address, it doesn't actually show it! It hyperlinks back to the home page.

My gosh, the XMR has been undervalued for a so long time.
Just like the gold be lost on the mainstreet, but few guys knew to
pick it up.
The XMR has its unique value, much new and useful features than Bitcoin,
that's the main reason why the XMR survive in the crypt-market and why so many
fans support it.
Best wishes to the team and guys who have invested and hold XMR.

Where are we going?  I remember waiting, patiently, at 0.002-3, certain that 0.006 - 0.009 was just around the next corner.   And on the third try, it was.  But 0.009 turned out to be 0.0265.  There was rejoicing.   As we linger in the 0.02-3 range, I ask, where are we going next?  My mind can't help but draw a parallel, and I think, briefly, of 0.265.
