So is the coin alive or something failed on last update ?

Coins Alive, always has been  - Just a few issues with the nodes, better check for updates via our twitter & IRC instead of BCT

Yeah coin is very healthy and going to be more stronger after new updates. SysCoin has very hard working dev team to resolve all the issues.

Is there a working block explorer?  The one at http://blockexperts.com/sys is 3 months behind.

Is there a working block explorer?  The one at http://blockexperts.com/sys is 3 months behind.

Let me explain why the block explorer is 3 months behind.

I migrated all hosted block explorers (syscoin included) to a new layout and back-end.
The initial sync is still running for syscoin, it will be up to date in a couple of days.

Rich list will also be available once everything is synced.

So the blockchain did not fork (as far as I know).

You can watch the update progress on http://blockexperts.com/sys

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the block explorer.

I hope they do get that bitcoin back... but if they don't I hope they forge one ahead anyway... bitcoin itself has suffered greater setbacks and it is still here to stay....

No reason why Syscoin can't forge ahead.... in fact ,like water on a duck, keep going....

Not yet, but progress still. Will keep you posted when we can on that matter, for other news we should have some interesting stuff re: Blockmarket over the next few days.

From IRC just now:

danosphere [23:08]
we put in a LOT of time to Syscoin and have no plans on stoppping. I'm almost at a full year dedicated to coding SYS on an almost daily basis, there is no lack of commitment here

danosphere [23:08]
and also there is something to be said about doing things that haven't been done before- it ain't easy, and we want to get it right- there are core design things (like blockchain size) that we are being very careful about and looking very future-forward on to make sure that SYS is teneble long term

danosphere [23:09]
these are the less tangible, less flashy feature improvements that are critical to long term success but are basically invisible on the end user side

danosphere [23:11]
all of that aside- we still push hard for new development and to that end, the beta-blockmarket we talked about releasing around 1/30 (ISH) will be rolling out tomorrow night, there will be a blog post on our website in a few hours explaining the rollout plan for tomorrow and then there will be another post tomorrow evening after the rollout which will also contain new beta wallets (0.1.5.2b) with an interface for PURCHASING items from the blockmarket

danosphere [23:12]
And remember any coder who knows JS could have built "Blockmarket", we as a team decided to build it not only to show people how easy it is to build on Syscoin services, but also to get a better idea for gaps within Syscoin that may impede mainstream adoption and address them (which we're doing) and also to give developers a "jump start" kit to get up and running in the fastest way possible - which I also feel we've fully accomplished

danosphere [23:13]
we've already published 2 components to NPM (node repository) and 2 components to BOWER (JS component repository) for developers to easily build application on top of the Syscoin service structure- the strategy here is one of long term, ecosystem based development with measured steps and a strong ear for community feedback on a feature-by-feature basis

danosphere [23:14]
not just hyping, releasing, dumping, and then starting some other coin

Added the newest version of the blockmarket to my site at http://magic.syscoin.market/#/items. Right now only has one product and isn't skinned, but it is out and working. This should correspond to the new blockmarket-compatible wallet that is coming out tomorrow I believe.

A LOT of work has gone into this app by danosphere and the rest of the syscoin core team, so thank you very much for that, guys!

Here are some screenshots of my personal blockmarket that is up on the web. It's running in testnet per the syscoin team's preference, and if people want to buy some things, they'll need to request some testnet sys from danosphere.

I'm guessing by the general direction the market has taken, (170 sats on Bittrex at present and dropping) the majority aren't buying in on the website thing.

Can't run a coin on spin and promise.  Promise SYS is big on, but delivery on that promise just hasn't worked out for one reason or another.  Enter the X11 ASIC, and that is another problem all together.  Better finish the GUI on the wallet or maybe all together drop the idea of SYS just go after your stolen BTC.  Either way the actions of your following indicate they feel they have been jerked around.

Don't quit your dayjob! trust me the next version of "block market" is going to blow your pants away

A decentralized, anonymous marketplace is more just than a replay of eBay.

You're convinced Syscoin isn't for you, and yet you keep coming back to engage the debate, funny that Wink

Yep, your right about one thing.

The day job.

Very few websites have made an impression since the latter part of the 90's.  A replay on eBay with digital currency is a bit more than most folks will bother with, let alone invest in.  Again, the wallet with built in UI was the steam this coin had and they pretty much pissed that away along with consumer/investor confidence, and it is reflected in the price of the coin.

I'm all for a viable offer, however profitability is obviously not it when it comes to SYS, more of a drama case.  I guess for me I've got some SYS for the right to personal entertainment value.  Betcha I'll get at least 5BTC worth of that.

Id rather u sell and be done with it.. It might bring a stronger hand in and help the coin from the positive vibe of you leaving Smiley
