Well it's never been done before so that has to be figured out. Myriadcoin is going to be experimenting with some designs that if successful could be used as a template. As for Syscoin's inflation rate, I'm not sure but you can probably figure it out from the info on OP.

But it seems to me that there's an issues with merge mining on algorithms with ASICs. 1) you have people mining it as a byproduct using no extra effort/energy 2) you have people whose main motivation is ROI on their ASICs so you can almost always expect them to sell. ...

So if you can still find a way to get the hashing power from scrpyt coins without rewarding them with as much so that it has less affect on the price yet the coin inflation remains the same so that there's fair distribution, it's win-win.

Unfortunately, the value of the coin keeps saying otherwise.  Dumpers are killing it because the block rewards are too big.

The people that bought SYS with the ICO (most) are holding.  OK, I'm a merge miner with say 150 MH/s (3 50 MH/s rigs), I hate to say it, but I have one thing on my mind ROI, need to pay for the rigs so I have buy better/faster rigs when they come out.  They are not holding, they are dumping as fast as they can mine it.  Merge mining is keeping the hashrate high, but SYS is getting dumped as a byproduct of it.

I have been mining and dumping another coin for months, trying to pay for the ASICs I own.  I have taken some and bought SYS, but when the price of ASICs starts going down, I want mine to be paid for.  It was the same with GPUs, buy, mine, sell, buy something better...

Look at the mining page, ROI is what everyone wants.  I'm sure there are some holding, but the big miners are working to make the ROI on their rigs, people who are renting hashpower sell to pay and take the profit.

Regarding this issue, I've suggested an interesting potential solution to this conundrum to devs which they're looking into. It's called multi-vPoW and it entails adding more  obscure algorithms that don't presently have ASICs. Those algorithms aren't merged mined and would have normal block rewards while the ASIC algorithm is merged mine but has smaller block rewards in effort to create a healthy balance so you don't have ASIC miners constantly selling or at least selling less. It also creates a more decentralized network which is an important plus.

With new informational assets in place, a proper promotional campaign can be started.

Not sure why people feel block rewards are too high- 128SYS per block is quite low and that is the "highest" reward. Yes, there are regenerated service fees as well but these aren't new coins.

I won't speculate on price but if you just run the math on the reward numbers the dumping is happening because of presale buyers, if they want to sell at a loss that is their choice. We are continuing to move forward as planned in the roadmap. Merged mining is key to Syscoin as it enabled an incredibly stable network for a long time.

Glad people are liking the new materials and we are indeed working on getting promoters together for the first promotional campaign we plan to kick off in just a few days. Some people just want to dump for whatever reason. With momentum building with the SYS team, new team members, features being rolled out and in the UI, and PR - it can only go up. People will look back and wish they had picked up the cheap coins in a few weeks.

Price is down because asic miners can merge mine syscoin with litecoin. Some people just dump it for more bitcoin/litecoin or whatevercoin. I hope they don't dump it like parallaxcoin from 5000 to 5 satoshi .

This is an example on give-me-coins.com. 2 GH/S scrypt miner can mine almost 20000 syscoins per day. I always set my buy orders a bit lower if whales are in dumping spirit.

Don't know how much coins average users have but i only have about 10,000 now. I think i will ramp up my stock to 100,000.
