100 TH isn't luck, that's all insane $$$ thrown at a problem LOL!

Even with 100T it's hard to find a block, luck is still very much needed. I've been trying for a few weeks running 50 - 100T with no joy and only a few decent high shares.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

yeah but don't forget about the lucky streak you had a little ways back. 3 or 4 in a row over a few days? Then still more in the weeks to follow?  Wink

I was kinda tongue-in-cheek there, but sure it's all luck. You can run 100T and never hit and then some guy pops up with an old Block Eruptor hashing 30Mhs and he gets a block in 15 minutes. It's one of the things that makes Bitcoin so equal and attractive to the little guy and the big mining farm alike.  Cheesy

Solo mining is alive and profitable!

Absolutely. I've rented hundreds of TH and hit nothing and then had my S4 pull a block, you just never know but it's a rush when you hit  Wink

Grin another Live view:
376717 solved by ckpool

congrats to the lucky one!

17UhZWXLyiHmPmAb4VdFweGWRYY52qjxwp

Edit:
with 100TH wow!

{"hashrate1m": "100T", "hashrate5m": "97.6T", "hashrate1hr": "97.1T", "hashrate1d": "95.8T", "hashrate7d": "48.2T", "lastupdate": 1443547811, "workers": 81, "bestshare": 25945985.412422385}

Congrats.

Hang on though. How come that was solved with 25m bestshare, even though my stats showed 60m+?

Cheeseater again !

I wish I had your luck ;-)

Congrats !

Thanks to all for the congrats! Took a break from the pool for a while due to no luck at all. Hit one on 6/29 and again on 7/4 then went 40 days without a hit. Had to call it quits as I was out 40btc with nothing to show for it quite a painful lesson as it's my equipment and 40 days of electricity is much cash. Tried playing catch up on slush then bang hit 4 damn blocks on the pool way pissed me off hit two in two days. Figured luck was back on switched here and hit in 4 days. Now what to do press luck or bank steady coin? Oh and as always thanks CK you make it happen Grin

After the last "solo share reset" since a block was found;  my 63Gh system is being stuck at a diff of 1000 and not lowering;  usually it drops well below 100 shortly after connecting to the pool.

Am I the only one seeing this? (apparently I am just retarded, and didnt wait long enough.  after about 5-15 shares it dropped down to a difficulty of 72.   All is well)

BTW:  congrats on the big win!   Its always nice to see a payout for the work involved =)

Personally: I like to keep my machines on separate payout addresses in the pool so I know exactly what machine I can call the lucky one Wink  All in all;  the probability of finding that block stays the same weather or not they are grouped together to the same pool address;  so I dont mind having multiple payout addresses assigned to my "lottery miners".

It can take a quite a bit of time, did you try --suggest-diff # ? If you have cgminer the pool will set the difficulty to the diff you set there by default. This way you can get a faster reading on your hashrate right away. Otherwise it can take quite a while for the pool to give you to proper diff setting.

No I haven't tried that yet..... Ill try playing with it a little.

I would also look at it this way:  Since shares are just a simple unit of measure... they bear no burden on the outcome of the payout;  Why not drive up difficulty to a calculated 30 sec to 1+ min time.   Leave it high for the device..  That way less time is sent TX to and from;  and more time hashing....   I'm not certain;  but I think the odds would be more in the miners favor no?

Maybe  I am thinking about it the wrong way.....  maybe not.

Yes and no.
Basically no, because the amount of extra CPU time spent sending shares to the pool has almost zero effect on the hash rate.

However, the icarus driver is a poor choice by sidehack for even a 10GHs device.
It's design was when a 1diff share took ~20seconds and 1/10 of a second was considered a negligible delay.
So, while it could be done better, reducing the number of shares sent to the pool will have little if any effect.

PS. I wrote most of the current Icarus driver code ... Smiley

How it works:
ckpool automatically takes your bitcoin address and gives you a unique stratum connection mining to your own address.
If you find a block, 99.5% of the 25BTC + transaction fees get generated directly at your bitcoin address!
There is no need to worry about passwords, logins, withdrawals, authentication or pool wallet hacks.
You remain anonymous apart from your btc address.
All you need to confirm you are mining to your own address is to examine the coinbase and template sent to you over stratum.
Note that if you do not find a block, you get no reward at all with solo mining.
0.5% goes to 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ to operate the pool and contribute to further ckpool code development.

How do you know who mined that block?

Thanks

you simply look at the pool Adress in Blockchain explorer:
