You guys are dreaming. Sure Bitmain sells prodcut priced in Bitcoin only, but they have to buy their supplies (and possibly pay salaries) in fiat. Batch 10 price could even go up due the drop in value of Bitcoin.

There is no doubt that the price of the antminer S4 be not in BTC but in dollars. Price: 0 USD ( 0 BTC ) . It must be at least $1,390.00 But probably is even more expensive.

Does anyone know of this is the same chip repackaged or a new chip? Probably the same chip which would put this on the edge of too much for the home.
It's safe to assume it is the same chip as the S3 but underclocked therefore using less w/GHs. The same as the S2 was to the S1.

I have 0 need for a psu. Sell them with a no pc discount. I would buy one at .5 watts a gh. the s-2 was really overpriced I hope the s-4 is priced better.

Looking good. Glad this ones actually supposed to ship without a 3-4 week delay like the S3's pre-order timing is important with other offerings soon hitting the market.

If it does I won't be buying you can bank on that. Bitmain isn't going to sell at a loss, you can bank on that too. Are you stupid? Let me guess, you've never actually run a business? You have 2 choices: 1) sell below cost (at market price) to recoup investment as much as you can 2) sell higher than the market willing to pay, and you lose all your investment Its now always about "not gonna sell at lost". Profits or not, the mining industry is already at the bottom. Guess how giants die?, they do exactly like you said. HP however is smart enough to sell their webTablet at loss and recoup whatever they can, completely shutdown their WebOS.

Whatever happened to upgrade boards for the S2?
You hinted that they would be available sometime in September.
OK, hinted was the wrong word. Here's what they said (emphasis mine): Reserved for Q&A and Updates
1. Will there be upgrade parts for S1 and S2?
Yes, there will be. But we still need to solve some production/testing problem before we finalize the plan and public it.
... first off - how the hell is not having an upgrade kit announced yet screwing over customers?
I didn't say it was. I said if they pretend that was never said. You know, similar to how they said S3 Batch 1 customers would receive a rebate/coupon when they missed their promised hashrate. Then they didn't do what they said and NEVER mentioned it again. secondly, the S2 runs at 1w/GH, which is still very profitable at this point (despite the fact that 6 months ago most people thought theyd be doorstops by now). There is at least 2-4 more months of utility at 1w/GH and beyond that its quite feasible that the S2 can underclock/undervolt to 0.9W/Gh or less.
Theres no reason to sell an S2 upgracde kit right now because the only people who would buy them would have some way to still run the S2 boards without case/backplane/controller/screen - or just be willing to throw money away by not utilizing 1w/GH hardware
Irrelevant.

Let's look at the competition. The SP-20 is the only rig out there that is even close when it comes to W/GHs. Sorry Asicminer... You FAIL http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp20-jackson-october-batch-11.7Th, 1100W, No PSU, Ships late Oct. $1190. That's where they are. I'm guessing S4 will be close to 3 BTC. Prob just under. and be about 1200W

Let me guess - you're not even going to address it.
You're just going to pretend that was never said and screw over your loyal customers.
Did the S1 upgrades get released the same day as the S3's? Nope. Patience, they will come. You have nothing on which to base that statement. In fact, BITMAIN's past behavior supports my expectation.

HP however is smart enough to sell their webTablet at loss and recoup whatever they can, completely shutdown their WebOS. By your response I'm guessing you are the stupid one. And if you do have a business, let me know what and where it is, I want to buy stuff below cost so you can subsidize my lifestyle. BM knows how many units they sold in each batch and how long it took to sell out. Batch 9 lasted less than a week. They aren't going to make inventory that they know they can't sell. There are no indications that they are sitting on any significant inventory - they almost appear to be building to order. Hard to lose money that way unless they are just idiots. Why would they build inventory they know they would lose money on? Worst-case they throw it in their data center. They are not going to take a loss so Joe-miner can "ROI." If you want fantasize about buying mining equipment from the manufacturer below their cost then don't let me stop you. But it will never be anything more than a fantasy. Give Bitmain more credit than that.

I'm more referring to these posters who act like they have some special insight into the workings of BITMAIN. Still waiting on my compensation from Batch 1 S3 purchase.
