That was when the site came back up. It's not that the weight changed - just that either the weight field was added, or moved up (above price). (Only reason I know is because I had a monitor set for the antminer u2 to keep an eye on any price changes for it. It used an xpath that effectively grabbed the second element that had the "amount" class, and it suddenly reported that the price went from "10.8" (BTC) to "0 kg" )

Unfortuanately, if they wait much longer not only will it be annoying but more importantly if shipping is delayed by the same amount of time i.e. two weeks these will be even harder to make any ROI

I stumbled across an advert for the S4 on these forums, which actually contains some details: Good find. 0.5-0.7 is a very wide range, sounds like they don't have a working prototype yet. I think the range is probably to account for what people underclock/overclock their rig to for their situation.

Don't buy it! Bitmain has really gone downhill fast. The S3 debacle is morphing into the S4 debacle as we speak.

Maybe, but if you look at S3+ it says "Power Efficiency: 0.78J/GH on wall" without any range given to overclock/underclock. Anyway, it's just a banner ad, let's wait for real specs.

unless the S4 is very close to $1,000 I am not sure if I am doing to consider it, as other pointed out the ROI would just not make sense. Not only electricity, but also calculate cooling 2Th/s as well.

Bitmaintech.com is down. Here's hoping it will come back with the S4 available for purchase (at a decent price)

I suspect the fall in BTC price to under $400 caused Bitmain to delay S4 sales and simply self mine until the price of BTC went back up.
Yesterdays 10% BTC price rise may have pushed the S4 back into profit territory for Bitmain.

Everyone keeps blaming the price of BTC end of the day the listing is in USD meaning the BTC price will vary on the US dollar exchange rate for BTC.
So enough crap, get it on sale.

I don't think the S4 will be for sale today, it is currently 11:34pm in China. Bitmain has not been on the forums today. Their online support also has been offline for today.

That's good, because usually right after it comes back up, it's updated. Now, what's the price going to be for a S4? I'm going with at least 3 BTC, either way not in my wheel house.

Is this machine still using that shitty controller with Mips 24Kc or what it's called that had 100% CPU load 24/7 when you mined? Like the S3 did.

S2 had a different controller, although the system load was high too, at least the web UI was a lot more responsive. Hopefully S4 will be based on that.
