from the SolarCoin facebook page:

"I was contacted by Planet + (Canal + channel ) they will make a documentary on technologies for the energy transition . Solarcoin will be one of the topics covered in the documentary tongue emoticon Normally documentary will be broadcast premiere at the upcoming United Nations Climate Conference in Paris - COP21 "
https://www.facebook.com/groups/solarcoin/permalink/342388385961702/

Canal is one of France's leading TV/media firms and the UN conference is kind of a big thing.

Fall/winter 2015 should be interesting for SolarCoin: New affiliate websites, mobile wallets, POST, media campaign roll-out, talks with inverter manufacturers etc.

keep shining,

Nick

Great news Nick! The future is certainly bright for Solarcoin. I was wondering also if there are any implications for how the coin is currently distributed. I'm not well versed is economics but it does worry me that there are individuals that hold very large amounts of coins. I myself have a reasonable investment (small compared to some here) and I worry that if this coin was to greatly increase in value having few people with so much market share could be problematic.

This is amazing, great news.
Also I think that there are some unique properties about SolarCoin and POST that could even be improved. But one step at a time.

Yeah I agree... I would have been in on the PoW phase but didn't trust the 98 Billion outstanding. Many people may have felt or still feel the same way.

If any of the large holders of SLR want to distribute the coin better my address is 8UekydfG2HNccLU485Dtjpx9mhgQfUki3W

PoW was a way to secure the Blockchain initially, but it is a heavy cost to pay and if it is just held during PoS to stake better and POST may allow this also, the PoS aspect may be out of whack. Since you will have a few big wallets vs a bunch of small wallets. I never really like the way coin is created though so this happens with every coin.

I do agree with you when it comes to most coins. It's my opinion Solarcoin is different. There are some large holders and I feel many of them really have a stake in the project beyond profit. Full disclosure, I have a sizable amount of Solarcoin sitting in a cold storage wallet waiting for a future date. I will also POST that wallet to help secure the chain, and it's my intention to not touch the principal investment. I may go after some of the interest it earns, and I'll trade responsibly.

My cold storage wallet is: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/slr/address.dws?8bX2RsJM8cNnyvAhY5ddEvkSz1Q6BL6bwu.htm

When I think about how there is a divide in size of coin holdings I do think about Bitcoin and how it had a similar beginning yet still managed to grow over time. Hopefully this will be a similar story with Solarcoin. I like to think that many are invested for the good cause, but I believe the truth is probably some where in the middle. Personally I'm invested both because I see it as a possible good investment but also a moral one ( not exactly investing in slavery tokens ).

I represent a nice amount of Solarcoins and we are not dumping any time soon. Of course if we see $1 to $3 plus we will take some profit. But that's how capitalism works!!!

We took the risk with our own $ and that's just reality in the real world how things work...

And no i will not be sending free coins to other people go buy your own like everyone else has.

Personally I really don't care what other people do with this coin whether they are profit-seeking or altruistic because that is how early investments and adoption works...

Those who are first into a space should be rewarded just like those who are the first to invest in a company (or idea), so really I'm not going to be surprised when everyone in this form turns out to be a bunch of liars & cash in on the profit when SLR > $1 because its human nature.

What everyone needs to learn is that some people are in this for good reasons in some for profit-seeking motives only, however that is irrelevant because any Business or Idea in the economy shares the same situation. Not all people are going to agree on what is best for the coin but all will agree that seeking a profit is best for them individually and I don't see anything wrong with that at all.

When did making money (in a morally correct way) for yourself become a bad thing in this world? People will jump in and out of this coin just like any other investment and that may jeopardize stability, but if it is ment to stabilize it will over and over again as we have seen before.

Of course! But it will only get to $1 if the major coin holders don't sell out early. But I think most people will just set low buys and if there is a manipulation it will stagnate the price eventually. People are wise to the way a coin can be manipulated. So it will have to be distributed first before the price gets too high. You do understand that a large amount of coin holder can manipulate the price right? They buy their own coin move the price up and wait for the buyers to move up if they want to own coin. This is why I stated every coin must be bought at the same price and applied at cost to a Panel to be worth something, and by creating coin from thin air and then applying the payment of that coin to a physical Solar Panel to then output a source for Merchants to sell their coin to, would be the most stable and fair way to grow. It shows vested interest and produces money from energy to support the coin with. By burning the coin that is sold, the depletion stabilizes the market cap and if no one sells then the value only grows.

Not everyone bought coins, there was PoW and miners like me abandoned the PoW, afraid of the 98 Billion and how that may affect the price vs cost of Electricity and Hash.

I wish for once a coin would actually have all development done and then roll out the PoW instead of just another blockchain and then work out the kinks as they go. Having large wallets in PoS can also cause instability for security. The main point being that small wallets can't compete against the Weight of the large wallets, so the small wallets just decide to not participate in Staking, and Claimers are not required to stake so their freely granted coin can just be sold outright after claiming it. Now that drops the network weight and the large wallet would need even less coin to have a successful attack. The whole point of using PoS is to create an equilibrium for security and reward.

I was first but didn't like the outline or economic model. Now I am helping the coin rework itself for everyone's benefit. My motto will hopefully catapult the price for you... "Stake your Claim on the Sun!" When you see the beauty of what I propose it will invigorate you to the hopes of a real worth to a coin in a market for all to participate and not just liquidate it for profit.
