Thanks corather and vipgelsi.
I've actually done both those things a number of times now without any success. The laptop has been restarted around five times already with rescans and reloads done a number of times. I'll give it a another go on the desktop and see what happens.

The reload blockchain option has worked on the desktop, so I'll copy this back to the laptop and see how it goes. Not sure why it didn't work on the laptop directly though, maybe it's just slow and old, like myself. Thanks once again for the assistance.

You can try deleting everything except the wallet file in the %appdata%/solarcoin folder then reloading the blockchain. It's sometimes required. It's a little buggy, but the workarounds always work.

Thanks for the further replies corather and CryptoNick.
I'd already run the -repairwallet and -rescan commands in console on the laptop and this did not work. After getting the desktop working again I copying the entire contents of the AppData/Roaming/SolarCoin folder back onto the laptop and it's now working fine.
Still don't know what the underlying problem was. I've had a few power outages before but the laptop normally works fine again after restarting the wallet. Would be very interested to know if there is something recorded in the debug.log, or any alternative log file, that could pin point what the issue was. Any ideas on what to look for?

Im not sure I understood your question correctly.. At the time being there are approximately 35 Million SLR in circulation. The price of 1 SLR is 0.0537$ or 0.00008200 BTC

The Rate is 1MWH per Solarcoin at .05 per coin. It doesn't match the real cost just the output for claimers. There are 98 Billion coins and 500 Million in the dev fund. The 35 Million represent the prior Solar production and were generated by PoW for a while until SLR switched to PoST. You will need a ton of coin to compete with the big wallets out there during PoST but you can Claim SLR and then sell it to get BitCoin!
