There'll be a KanoDB restart in about 20 mins.

No mining will be affected.

This is to update the source git to the new naming as mentioned here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg20585668#msg20585668

Web/API will show lota '?' and zeros for about 10 minutes.
Also, you'll find you are logged out so will need to login again after the update.
Restart all OK.
Web outage was from 9:54:02 to 10:03:54 UTC so just under 10 minutes
(though it was over a full hour of data reload due to the timing)
Mine on Smiley

Only 2 were left - and they both were confirmed in the last 3 blocks.

The $1 fee I put on each one is (lately) enough to get them confirmed.

Edit: though it's $1.42 now Smiley

So is this going to be the "new normal" payout method in lieu of the old method (waiting for the next block after previous one(s) mature)?

Or is this just a temporary continuation of the payment method / workaround due to the uncertainty of the August 1 split?

I'm so used to the "normal" method, but I really am not that concerned other than I just want to know how the payouts will be implemented going forward.

Either way is fine me (not that my vote counts for very much).

Mine On!!

Well ... this way you get them faster ... ...
I mentioned before that I'll continue it while it keeps working ... i.e. the payouts contine to be confirmed faster

It's also more efficient.  Because if we get even a moderately decent time block like 10 min since previous, we probably end up earning an extra $~30 in TX fees for the space that would have been taken up by one payout.

with my tiny mining farm i'm very happy here. I probably have some dust payments here but I'm ok with waiting until Kano comes around to getting that issue resolved. Meanwhile it's just apreciating in value instead of in my hands where I could spend it too easily. LOL.

Does anyone know how much hashing power has been dimished in BTC mining after the fork?

Well that might have been the case for a while before when fees were high, and blocks were full, (and the price was lower) but blocks are now filling up with zero or almost zero fee transactions, so our payouts don't push much out off the end

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-cash-eases-mining-difficulty-blockchain-adjusts/

Is the expected luck calculated by difficulty? So we might mine more blocks but the luck could still be under 100%?

A difficulty drop means you expect more blocks for the same hash rate - yes.
i.e. the bar is lower, so some of those "Unworthy" blocks would instead be worthy if they were found now - and you're 'expected' BTC/Day/THs is higher.

... of course a 10% tx fee drop needs a similar difficulty drop to offset it.

BLOCK! by pangborn

And by my calculations the lowest fee in that block was ~93 sat/byte.  4 payouts would have displaced 0.10416 BTC or $357.  So that was ~$6 well spent!

It was a 21minute network block, so it had twice as long to throw out cheap transactions and replace them with more expensive ones as they came out on the network.

That's also why the tx fees are high 13.98 BTC block (yes that's now considered high)

However ... 93 sat/byte wasn't the lowest ... e.g. the last transaction in the block was 6.57 sat/byte and I'm not 100% sure of the ordering i.e. is it lowest last? I've never checked Smiley

Edit: no it's not ordered highest to lowest fee/byte, the 2nd last one was 268 sat/byte

Interesting.  I wonder if there is a tool to determine the lowest fee transactions in blocks.  It would seem the 6.57 sat/ byte transaction was some kind of anomaly or something since it looks like according to this https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#2h  the block at 20:52  didn't quite break into the blue 80-100 layer.
