Common lucky people, let's start getting some blocks!  Cool I am just here to help process fee's lol.

Because the odds of me getting a block are higher than a Mosquito getting hit by a lightning bolt that bounced off an airliner that was falling from the sky after getting struck by a meteor that broke off from a larger meteor that had its course diverted by a US nuclear warhead that was delivered into space by an atlas rocket that was refurbished by the USSR after the US sold it to them after the cold war...

All us disaster jockeys seem to have a similar sense of (noir) humor...

The odds are about the same as me getting deployed next week (I'm on the DL list), which I would really like to do if I could. Hope Harvey isn't as nasty as he looks right now.

Mine on...

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

As mentioned earlier here by philip, block time is much longer than the normal < 10 mins, as it appears a huge amount of hashrate was moved to the recently split off coin.  As it stands now, if things continue at this rate, we're looking at a 31% decrease in difficulty on 9/13.

LOL this made me laugh - theymos must have updated the quotes that bitcointalk displays recently:
Quote
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Though he left out "-- theymos" on the end Tongue

Edit: though he also left out the last sentence: "It's centrally controlled by core, that's controlled by people slapping money in their faces." Smiley

Yeah when setting lots of the S9 up in a data centre you really need to block the 3 outgoing IP addresses matching the default settings, otherwise you'll be mining for Bitmain ...

at this moment  the network has 4218 P

and bcc has 2998 P

our current difficulty  is based on the network having around 6600 p

so  4218/6600 = 63.9 %   which is 36.1%  drop in speed.

these stats come from here

https://pool.viabtc.com/

we have entered a new world  of difficulty patterns for btc + bcc/bch

hopefully  btc price holds. it is 4276

My Bitcoin client had the message last night saying unknown rules may be in effect again.  Is that OK this time.  I restarted it this morning and it isn't posting that message now.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

I've been running 0.14.2 everywhere (with BIP91 and various modifications) and it's been saying it, so yeah don't worry about it.

is it going to be a 2 day drought?

Nevermind, my block % just dropped from .068 to the average of .055. I knew something was up when I was running so high for the past 24 hours.

I give it less than 1 hour before cobramines finds the next block Smiley

There was a long outage of almost 10PH, 24hrs ago, so that would have shown your block % climbing during that, but slowly dropping back after it.

Of course your block % doesn't mean much unless you've been mining for the full 5Nd when we find the next block.

If you have been mining for the full 5Nd, then it should be somewhere in the vicinity of your % reward of the payout, but assuming the pool hash rate (and your hash rate) has been pretty consistent for the 5Nd ... which the pool never seems to be Tongue

So ... well you can see your actual 5Nd % on the rewards page, and it also = You N Avg/Pool N Avg

P.S. I deleted 2 of your 3 posts since they were all in a row quoting each other Tongue The last one has the other 2 in it.

Edit: we also had another of those close but not quite high enough difficulty shares about 1.5hrs ago ... oh well

You're killing me Kano! I need the posts Smiley

Anyway, you have a great pool. It was introduced to me by one of your top miners - MintMining. Very nice to be able to trust a pool owner. I have been mining with you for about a week straight now with downtime only due to the wonderful South American Communications infrastructure. Have a good weekend.

4 PAYOUTS MAN!!!! We started SUNDAY with 4 payouts, thats why I LOVE KANO'S POOL.

Maybe i am missing something....... perhaps you can educate me......

as i see is..... (please correct me if i am wrong.....)
for the month we are 9 blocks behind normal/expected......
luck is currently at 81%
that is on track with being 20% behind where we are expected to be.... or should be.....
yes.... we just got 4 payouts....... but that is from the last 4 blocks.....
we did not get that payout because of solving the current block..... we just had to wait to solve the current block to get those 4 payouts.....
this is really nothing to cheer about..... in fact we are way behind where we should be.....
despite the drop in difficulty..... we are still not solving blocks at the rate we should be.....
what are we cheering about?Huh?? we are behind for the month.....

am i missing something? what is going on here?

"Bitcoin (BTC) transaction delays and fees are increasingly thought to be the result of Antpool mining empty blocks.
Multiple reports surfacing on social media pin the blame for the slow rate of approvals on miners deliberately not including SegWit transactions."

Well, unless you have some magic way to change pool luck, then the current block luck is just that: poor luck, and there's nothing that can be done about it.
Hopping away wont help you either since a luck change has no known point when it will start and when it will finish.

It's not a case of "oh luck has been bad for ages and will continue to be bad"
This month we started with poor luck then completely reversed that back almost to 100% (99.38%), then got 2 long and 2 short unlucky blocks in a row, but have been running expected luck since that (actually was 1 block ahead in that run of 14) until this last block, which was again poor luck.

The month's PPS% is still 93.32% so it's not a devastating result at all yet.

So if you could predict the bad luck blocks in advance with some magic crystal ball, then you might have been able to avoid them, however no one other than you can.

Meanwhile, we had a good run of luck the other day and this slow block confirmed those 4 payouts.
So if you don't like getting 4 payouts at once, then I guess there's nothing to be happy about.
Most people are happy about getting that much in one hit.

Luck goes up and down. Always has and always will.

CDF says approximately one in three blocks is expected to be diff over 100% i.e. on the bad side of luck, on every pool.
The result is that you'll see the pool spending more time in bad luck than in good luck, maths and time says that's how it will be.

Oh well Tongue
