Actually, to be correct, you lose mining when luck is low and gain mining when luck is high.
But ... you can never predict when either will occur.
Hopping makes no difference to that.

I think of it like the gambler that keeps choosing a different number and color on the roulette wheel and thinking that they're better off than choosing the same number and color each time. All they're doing is introducing more variance! Lol

for roulette, I bet $10 on 2 columns of numbers - about 60% chance of hitting, now when i do, I only make my money back plus $10 but by doing this repeatedly, I still tend to walk out heading home ahead rather than behind. It's when I try to change it up that I lose it all lol

The hash rate changes often on the pool (that's why it says 30-400PH) so moving those numbers to something that didn't happen, would not just linearly affect the result - it would of course also make this month look a lot better.

That side-effect is a good reason not to worry about trying to 'monthatize' the block reporting.

For example, let's just say we hashed 365% at the end of April with no block, but 15% into May we found a block. Falsely, somebody would interpret the beginning of May as really good luck, but nay, nay. It took us 380% to get that block, which isn't horrible, but it's not lucky.

Sent 0.1 BTC (One Tenth of a Bitcoin) from one of my wallets to my coinbase.com BTC wallet address.
I set transaction to process within 10 Blocks & the Minig Fee: was 0.0374815 BTC with BTC @ $5,707.00 = $213.91 USD

Needless to say, I nearly fell off my chair when I saw this. In the past transferring 0.1 BTC has only cost a tiny bit like under $5

Do you have many inputs to add up to the 0.1BTC you're trying to send?  I just setup a transaction of 0.1BTC to see what the txn fee would be, and I got about $4 fee with 9 inputs.  In case you're wondering: Mycelium set for Economic send which now is 54 satoshis/byte

Edit- I see your transaction is 73600 bytes, which would be about $200 with my wallet above so I'd say that's it.

I used the SEND tab on Electrum v3.3.4 and entered my coinbase.com BTC address set the BTC to 0.1 and processed it.
I use Electrum v3.3.4 on my laptop and I have no idea what 'kind' of wallet that coinbase.com uses.  Do you have any recommendations?
Can I CANCEL the transaction? It was initiated less than an hour ago.

I've never seen such a cost, but I always go low priority......maybe just bad luck/timing if the network is suddenly under high demand.??  really sucks tho and is a problem if correct

This is not related to Kano pool, you should have asked in the Electrum sub forum area.

Anyways, for Electrum what you do is configure it for fee estimation static, edit fees manually, and then at send time manually set it, for example to 1sat/B when you don't care how long it will take.

You cannot cancel transactions once they have been broadcasted. But you can make it go faster if you let the Use Replace By Fee option enabled, and still have funds in that wallet to add tx fees.

There was a slight traffic increase in the last 24 hours, but if you could have waited like a few hours it would have probably gone thru.



Online wallets like those from an exchange probably won't let you do things like changing the tx fee...

I ordered mine as a demo unit (full price paid) using pangolinminer.
I wouldn't trust that site. You can check the link below, under Microbt ( manufacturer) they use 2 distributors Pangolin and Whatsminer . I believe the first batch release isn't slated to ship until August.
