The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Bah, has nothing to do with luck, probability, statistics, or law of independent events. It's kano-san's secret code in the pool software that does it! Geeze!

No clue... even if the guy does attack my pool and get in, the pool's liquid assets don't even cover the ransom demand he made. Pretty sure he stands to make a whopping 0.03 BTC or so... pretty sure he'll be spending considerably more to attack than he'd dream of making back from succeeding in it. By the way... it was our second block .

David / DMwarejr - With Nicehash I can have the same hash rate as you instantly. Without the Nasty Coach Roach reactor.....hahaha. My Electrician is so poorly organized, wasted the entire morning and not much have been done.
P.S At least I have the NiceHash Casino for fun.

Dumb question, I know...but I've got a principal who likes "answers" and I didn't know this one. Once the "Rewards" show up on the "Payments" log...how long does it generally take for them to actually be transmitted? One inquiring mind (not mine, but it would help) wants to know...

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Most likely two conditions will have to be met: 1. The blocks those rewards are based on have to have matured 2. Kano needs to be awake 3. ??

Been working, over night, on a section of my payout processing. Normally the correct answer for this situation today would be ... I was asleep, I woke up, I sent any overdue payouts They come due when the block shows "Matured" on the blocks page, which is just after it reaches +101 confirms. The overdue ones will be sent soon.

I would say it is very rare that you would ever wait more than 24 hours.

Geez...I had to take a few minutes to stop laughing... Yeah, I know about maturing...they're on the payments log, and this guy likes to know "answers." He's actually a really good guy, and trusts CK and Kano as much as I do, as he actually did take the time to learn about BTC first...ALL of it (the good, the bad, & the ugly). Retired military...says a lot. No complaints...seriously. You do good, Kano. Imua.

Probability of sets is completely separate from Gambler's Fallacy.
I hear you on the law of averages, however current or past luck in the "long" run doesn't really have much to do with meeting that average. No, you don't hear me. I am not talking about the law of averages, despite what everyone keeps interpreting from my posts. Probability of sets is a totally separate statistical analysis, it has nothing to do with "averages" or "luck". I don't know how to be any more clear than I have been, so I guess I'll give up. The last few pages are full of off topic ... this page more so. Be warned ...
Noted, this will be my last post with respect to this subject since no one seems to want to understand what I am talking about. Back to pictures of random lucky objects on top of miners and discussions about chicken dishes.

Probability of sets is a totally separate statistical analysis, it has nothing to do with "averages" or "luck". I don't know how to be any more clear than I have been, so I guess I'll give up. You know I wasted some time writing a post about this, then decided, meh don't bother I doubt I'm going to have to read any more of this crap ... but you keep posting it ... ok here's the post: -- Sigh, I feel like deleting a bunch of posts coz this whole Gambler's Fallacy thing is getting annoying. "I'm not wrong, I was talking about some, completely unrelated to bitcoin, mathematics ..." Here, have a read of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler's_fallacy#An_example:_coin-tossingBUT most importantly, look at the image on the right and the description. Luck DOES NOT correct itself. Expectation is always 100% ... not 50% coz we got a 150%, not 3 reds in a row coz we got 3 greens, not any other random thing someone thinks up. That is all Gamber's Fallacy, it's not "some better theory", it's Gambler's Fallacy. The reason why luck tends towards 100% is not a correction on what happened before, it's that you always expect 100% If you have have 200% luck since a pool started for 100 blocks (yeah that'd be pretty lucky) you still expect to get 100% for future blocks. So, since maths goes on forever and an eternity, the average of 100 x 200% + 1,000,000 x expected 100% moves closer to 100% That expectation is to approach 100%, in this case from above, but it's not correcting history, it's simply expecting to average closer to 100% Here's what you said to start all this: After such a stellar run Friday we are going to be due for some nasty red blocks. Hopefully not too many, but it is a certainty that they will happen.
Yes that's wrong.

All the NiceHash talk made me feel like testing it out. Went over and rented 5 TH for about a day, although I have a feeling it would be kinda silly to not have it go for at least 2 or 3 days? Might not be worth the BTC but the kick I got out of watching my shift graph blow up from 500 GH/s to over 5 TH/s was worth it!
