Network hashrate is

771.886 PH/S

We should be getting something at pool rate 11ph

Big snow storm ready to hit the easy coast. Maybe that will influence things, power outages , network outages, etc.

haven't been around bitcoin long enough:
an odd scenario, but if difficultly manages to drop can mining pools resubmit previously close shares?

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

No, there would most likely be several pools that had share higher than the new difficulty. Who's would be the right one?

No. Block solves MUST be based on the previous block exactly. That's the basis for blockchain security.

Hashing power goes up, we find fewer blocks and get paid less for each???

I've seen this happen many times even though it doesn't make any sense???

As we all know, with more hashing power we should find blocks quicker and overall get the same payout - just more smaller payouts - less variance.

I'm not accusing the pool operators of anything wrong and believe this is a very good and honest pool.

Just "a feeling" based on something I noticed several times at slush and now noticing here, that's why I wasn't that crazy about this pool getting bigger.

Hot time, summer in the city, back of my mine getting hot & gritty!!!

No. Your perception is just skewed. It's only explained on this thread every second page what the probability is of these long blocks. Look at the long term statistics on this pool - there is no inexplicably prolonged bad luck.

When we had our 666.666% block the pool was only at 2.27PHs.  Wink

The real problem with unlucky long blocks is... they take long. I know that sounds silly to say but that's why they're perceived as prolonged stretches of bad luck whereas they're still only one solved block. If you don't look at the duration of blocks and you just line them up as Long or Short and list them, the last 10 blocks on kano.is are: SSSLSLSSSL

If it's any consolation, Slush's Pool at least is having the same experience. I appreciate CK's explanation...helps bunches.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Honestly, that is the main reason I love being a part of this environment...the transparency and communication by CK and Kano cannot be found at any other pool.  I know from experience!

I don't care how long this block takes...we will eventually hit it and move on.  We are way ahead this month already.

EDIT:  See, we hit this block already!!  Thanks bitminerpro for getting us past this one!

No, the 'L's are expected.
If they weren't, then the long term pool luck would show it.

Even the 100/50/25 block statistics aren't a very accurate representation of expected results.
I've only left the 5/10 block statistics there because they represent the 5Nd payouts (I was considering removing them once before)
Statistically the 5/10 confidence intervals are ... so small (%) that they really don't have much of an expectation of representing expected results Tongue

Yes, but the 5 and 10 day numbers sure look good when we hit the SSSS streak though!  Remember Block Friday a couple weeks ago?  Good times...!  Cool

That last L sure hurt the 5 and 10 day numbers though but I sure am glad we found a block.  Thanks bitminerpro!

Congrats on moving completely away from f2pool, Phil Smiley.  Also, pretty sweet deal you got for the power cost... that S7 should be profitable for a while.

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow!  Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets!  No SPV cheats.  No empty blocks.

I have to set freq at 512 this keeps the fan at 32% so I mine at about 4100 gh

It is in his office and I sound proofed it a bit.

At 2 cents I should be able to mine past the 1/2 ing.

My 2 and 1/2 avalons and 1 s-7 are staying here.

Glad to see more hash power pointing here. It's always nice to be a part of a transparent pool, and especially nice that it has fairly good luck.

Beware of scammers.
